always like those, looks like a well looked after example too. I dont think the range of engines were anything exciting though were they?

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
chrishill replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
the only thing i'm not keen on is the headlamp intake, otherwise its a jaw dropping creation and a real credit to the hard work and late nigths that must've gone into it, well done ben, it looks amazing. -
worth taking for spares though if theres only a handful around
-
no silly graphics or logos, not too deep and black is always subtle enough to get away with... i think its just fine, not chav at all.

that rear valance is pretty nasty...

Does your corrado hit the rev limiter in 5th gear ?
chrishill replied to VWci's topic in General Car Chat
my valver only got up to 125 on a flat road, but i've taken the VR to an indicated 148 *cough* on a track, the rev counter was well in the red at that point and the increase from 130ish to 148 was a pretty slow one. I've a feeling nosky's taken it further than that when he owned it, and before it was charged. -

i reckon my 6 cylinder symphony sounds better too, although that could be the quality of the audio on the video. -
better still, get the dog to shag his mam while hes watching... ... taxi for Hill?

the official routes of retaliation would more likely have longer lasting effects too, if what atif says is right and he gets a criminal record for what hes done its going to be with him for the rest of his life affecting work, credit ratings, insurance and a whole host of other things. much more satisfying doing it that way IMO.

whats the website out of interest?

make sure you get that the right way around

no point going tit-for-tat, you'll just end up in trouble yourself and these things have a habbit of getting very out of hand. Personally I'd go round to his, knock on the door and see what he does. My bet is he'll shit a brick. Dont be threatening about it, just explain you know it was him and if its not sorted out you'll press charges with the police. I guess the only tricky part is proving it really was him (although it seems obvious) in order to get him prosecuted. A mate told me about a simular incident with some people he works with, theres a couple, very happy, living together etc etc and another guy they work with whos pretty obsessed with the lass. the two blokes had a bit of a barny after the obsessed bloke bought the lass some flowers and asked her out, next day the boyfriends car was key'd on every panel, and not in a way that was easy to polish out! it was obvious who'd done it so he went round this guys house and confronted him, and it ended up with the guy paying to fix it.

i'm dreading changing my rockercover+gasket now... if i find my engine in that state i wont be able to afford the bits to fix it! arse!

Car accident within 48 hours of E38.. update PG3

feck, unlucky mate, all his fault though reguardless of what happened prior to him going in to the side of you so at least you know it'll get sorted at his cost. love the quote from the lorry driver, nice one ;) -
the chains themselves would probably be ok (i think?) but its the guides/tensioners that tend to wear badly. see this thread for examples of typical wear... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29291 they dont always need doing, mines on almost 130k with original guides etc and i know of people with even higher milage.
-
i'll get in before anyone else... timing chains! they may not need doing yet but its worth checking.

low to mid 20's on average, but most of my trips are fairly short. high 20's over longer distances and driving within the speed limit.
-
it'd certainly stop repeat offences...
-
as should picking your nose while driving, waving at your pals, opening windows/sunroofs, messing with cd players and just about everything else that would cause you to take your hands off the wheel... including changing gears. heck lets just ban cars rather than addressing the real issue of muppet drivers!

text messages while driving is just stupid... although its hard to resist the temptation to read one if you get one! I'm still one of those sad cases that gets excited when someone texts me

ah ha! the lesser spotted MI5 VW in her natural habitat! I'll tick that off in my big book of rare sights.

well to be quite honest i'd rather they ignored the chav'd up neon nova's and did some proper police work, but i see your point saysomestuff

Phil K's old C and others - new German Coupe!
chrishill replied to Phil K's topic in Members Gallery
-60mm is deffinatly the height to go for in terms of looks, as i've said before if the corrado had been produced with VW's current design sensabilities it'd have had 17's and been lower as standard so applying those mod's looks 'right' and brings it up to date IMO. looks good phil, nice work. -
i've noticed people using mobiles while driving again too, to be honest i havn't heard many cases of people getting stopped... I guess neither has anyone else so they're not scared of getting caught! I've got to admit i've done it from time to time, but i generally tell the person i'm talking to to 'hold on' and put the phone in my lap if i'm trying to negotiate a roundabout or simular, it deffinatly impares your driving ability.
