yup furki, and if you look through there you'll see my comments praising the car and saying how much i like it, which i do, i just dont agree its the best in the world. I'm not trying to slag lee off or his car, i stood and chatted with him last sunday about it and hes a nice bloke, had a look around the car and I still love the look of it reguardless of the stuff Phat pointed out, theres things I wouldnt have done if it was my car, but its not, its Lees. IMO the 'worlds best' wouldnt cause this much of a stur, it'd be unanimous and as a certain NOS enabled forum member said the other day, every other car at worthersee looked like Lee's, I dont think anyone can honestly say its better than EVERY other corrado out there.
-
didnt you just know this would degernarate into another love/hate fest of A20 LEE? I think the original issue Paul had was PVW calling it 'the best corrado in the world' which is a pretty sweaping statement and woefully inaccurate judging by the replys this threads had.

thats assuming the engine ever gets warm! ooo i am in a bitchy mood today...

I'll look later....

you'd expect it to need a little more stopping power with all that extra weight, if only to control how fast it rolls off the back of the trailer when it arrives at a show

'Acurabot' kind of gives it away! tis a honda Acura which i dont think europe gets does it?

I sold a set for about £120 in 'fair' condition with 2 good, one fair and one knackered tyre.

for the styling, see this topic... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22698&lighter= weight saving, well it depends if you think you need a spare and rear seats or not!

why ruin already sublime lines by overly modding? OEM+ as described by Coxy is the only way to go IMO

Just re-read a few posts... it won car of the show at vw festival? hmm, personally there were 3 or 4 other cars there that I would have picked but then it wasnt my choice. PMSL!

back on topic for a second, I dont think lee himself described the car as 'the worlds best corrado', wasnt that the strap line from the cover of PVW? obviously they're going to tout it as the 'worlds best', having it on the cover and using a strap line like 'A pretty nice corrado which isnt to everyones tastes and has a few flaws when you look closely' wouldnt shift many magazines would it? Chris - remember the 'shoehorn' comment from the old copy of PVW you were reading? same sort of thing, they hype things up for the max power generation not realising that most of the readers are enthusiasts and know fine well that (in this case) a 1.8t in a mk1 is hardly a case of shoehorning. Every time Lee's car comes up it sparks debate, some love it, some hate it, but all apreciate the work that gone in to it reguardless of a few flaws. I understand what you're getting at Phat, but its hype created by a magazine to shift copies. I personally, and i think others may share this view, have more respect for the likes of yourself, henny, biggerbigben, coxylad etc who've put hard graft into creating something I know I could never do myself.

 even when you're not trying you still amuse me

be nice if they did, then I could get my alarm wired up so i could open a window before getting into a corrado shaped sauna like i have been over the last week or so
-
um... not when you unlock no! as far as i know it was the post facelift cars, so the vr6's and 2.0 valvers that had auto closure so that locking the doors put the windows up and closed the sunroof too.

good find mate, unsprisingly theres none selling it up here! barstewards! at least that v-power stuff is going to be nationwide... place your bets on prices though, I'm guessing at £1 p/l

kingston park has a tesco's petrol station, not sure if it sells the super-juice though, might have to go find out.

Totally agree paul, I bought a vauxhall ashtray from new a couple of years ago which cost me nigh-on £12k, being young and daft and worried about 'old cars falling to bits' etc. less than a year later i stuffed it and wrote it off, I got 9k back from the insurers, which was actually the going rate for a secondhand car like i had. 3k drop in less than a year? swore i'd never spend that kind of money on a car again, deffinalty not a new one anyway. in comparison, I bought my 16v for just under 2k, spent 2k(ish) on it and never really had any major problems and had a damn sight more fun in it than the astra! Now i've moved on to the VR and spent the best part of 2k on it in 3/4 months of ownership... it still stands me at about 5k all in and is 1000 times the car the astra was. yeah it sounds like a lot of money to spend on a car, but like you say, it better than squandering thousands on HP for a run-of-the-mill family hatch.

its probably just the product of the vw desigers wondering what a convertable passat would look like over coffee and biscuits, thats certainly what it looks like rather than the 'new corrado'.

as if by magic...
