chrishill replied to 20v turbo's topic in General Car Chat
very nice mate, hope the misses is suitably chuffed! -
hehe yeah i'll bet she does to appologise for that!
-
yeah, theres just one layer and you sent me a spare in case it was too bright, very happy with them mate, its just the bulbs at the top could do with being a bit brighter I think!
-
yeah I am mate, and very good they are too, just the bulbs arent quite bright enough :)
-
living up to the name there mate
-
yeah I thought that might be the case, suppose its a sacrafice you make for a slammed car or massive rims! that said you dont want to have to keep buying new front tyres to fit over 18's do you!
-
ta bally looks like alot of negative camber on the front... or is it just the angle?
-
another one on 18's, i'm sure it was a forum members but i cant remember who...
-
too big IMO, but its your car! it can been done, I've seen a few on 18's but as most have said they'll need arch work, get them flaired rather than rolled, i reckon it looks better.
-
do K&N claim its better than a turbo or supercharger?
-
I'll have a butchers on ebay, what should i be searching for? I dont think 'corrado top clock illuminatin bulbs' would give me many results
-
are you talking about the 3 bulbs/led's at the top of the clock unit when you open it up? I'd be interested to know exactly what I need to change these as I've got no clue about whats what with them, can you get a direct replacement with a resistor built in if needed?
-
what about cleaning it all off and sticking some dynamat under there? nice shiny finish and probably better soundproofing, although it'd make the already heavy bonnet even heavier, and i'm not sure how the foil would effect engine bay temperatures...
-
the guy really needs a kick in the face for putting those 'seat' 'ibiza' 'cupra' and 'sport' badges on, then sticking a 'corrado' badge on the side. I'm suprised theres not a little saxo vts '16v' badge on there too. If you want a ibiza cupra go fecking buy one, dont molest a poor corrado!!

jesus Riley, how many vw's have you got?!
-
ahhhhh!
-
I think the clipper was produced for much longer than the mk1 itself (someone correct me if i'm wrong though!) meaning theres more late examples about and they're probably an easier base for a project being a bit newer. Personally i'd prefer a normal mk1, although i've seen some very very nice clippers.

IIRC Vauxhall's offsets are notoriously high, meaning your choice is limited. VW ones would fit, but they'd stick out from under the arches. http://www.tyres-online.co.uk/techinfo/alloy.asp

standard setup in the late C has a tweeter either side in the dash which has a built in crossover (used to seperate trebble/bass into different speakers) the wires then run down to the doors for the (I assume - my doors were empty!) mid bass speakers. If you got a set of componant speakers with a seperate tweeter and mid you could run both off the HU since you actually wire the crossover in first, which then feeds both the tweeter and mid, much like the standard setup. Componants offer a better sound since the hi/lows are split to speakers specifically designed to cope with them. I did mine in stages so i've got some little full range speakers in the dash runnung off the HU which i added first and some infinities in the doors running off an amp which i added more recently for more umph upfront. I dont run the 6x9's that are on the back shelf, but I do have a sub in the boot. Its all budget stuff really, second hand kit and cheapish if bought new but its the best sound setup i've had in any car i've owned so far.
-
lippy, yeah they deffinatly help for sound staging. I find even though my dash speakers are running off the HU and the door speakers are amped, its the trebbles off the dash speakers that come through clearest when you're driving.

IIRc the originals have 'nokia' stamped on them!
-
cool! always liked campers, cant help thinking it'd look better without half a gate on the front but i guess you need one with all those crazy 'roos hopping about

good, the sooner tom cruse gets strapped to a jetpack the better. IMO I've got no problem with the police monitoring the internet, granted theres far more serious crimes going on which they should probably be focusing on, but theres also a large amount of information floating about on the net that could tip the police off to something major. Wasnt there an incident a couple of years ago of (possibly) BNP supporters organising riots via football forums? anyway whos to say the osserfer who found the incriminating info wasnt browsing the forum in his own time? (damnit beaten to it by jrabarton)
