OSV - Only Subtle Variations I like it! I did wonder why you picked OSV, very appropriate

My very first mod when I bought my 16v was to replace the tatty standard knob with something sexy. I splashed out on a momo cobra and i've since transfered it to the VR. Its a weighty lump and (for me) improved the feel of the gearchange, its also superbly comfortable due to its shape, its very ergonomicly shaped... if a little phalic! I've left the gaiter standard, and the gold ring at the top is starting to bug me so I'll probably change it at some point. SO many haywire-esque jokes in there... like the feel of a weighty knob, having a gold ring around my stick...

Need Name of Place selling German Style Plates at inters???
chrishill replied to rado-steve's topic in Suppliers Forum
http://www.dubmeister.co.uk does them, not sure if they were at inters and no, they wont be road legal. -
You're probably imagining things and being extra sensitive to everything that feels ever so slighty different, fearing the worst. I've got the same sort of paranoia about mine, but its actually running fine albeit with a slight oil drip from somewhere and a leaky radiator, but I manage to convince myself that every tap, squeak or rattle that I dont remember hearing before is fatal. If Dr Vince says its top banana then i think you're safe :)

impressive stuff! especially given the age of the car! nice sidey's too mate, good to see i'm not the only one paying tribute to westcountry farmers with my facial hair
-
oi! that was me not Mr NOS   credit where credit's due! Thats probably a much better location for it than where mine is as its not very visible from outside the car... not much of a deterant! if i was doing it again i'd put it on the left of the clock unit. Its not plagarism, I'm more than happy for my idea to be used by anyone and everyone! (i'm sure i cant be the first to have done it anyway!)

theres a lug?! I just twisted the gearknob off both my 16v and the vr6, no lug in sight...

welcome back Kev, knew you couldn't resist for long ;)

its nothing too impressive, but i've not seen it on anyone elses car... alarm LED incoporated into the clocks along with the other warning LED's

each to their own! :D

maybe theres a plug-in for the forum Andi could install that sends subliminal 'happy thoughts' to people viewing posts? Obviously people are going to have different opinions on things, the world would be boring if they didn't, but I think its often the way those opinions are delivered which causes the trouble. We're all adults (even Mr Wales) and we should all act like it when differences of opinion arise, theres nothing to gain from personal attacks and/or insults.

i can see the attraction from a functionality point of view, but as far as looks go it just looks like the lights are missing if you ask me!

not sure that anyone other than Kev is qualified to answer that nick, I'm not going to make wild assumptions or gossip about anyone or anything and I dont think anyone else should either, not our place to do. All I'll say is if Kev's gone its a very sad day for the forum reguardless of the reason, hes an insitution around here, a mine of information and a genuinly nice bloke whenever i've had contact with him.

be a shame for him to cut the chord over (if its what i suspect) a bit of a squabble

I'm sure no-one is totally innocent of speeding at some time or another, reguardless those photos provide a chilling reminder of what 'could' happen. Remember its not always excessive speed that causes accidents, other drivers, unforseen hazards and lack of care can also play a part. the thing that always comes into my head and slows me down if i'm being 'a bit silly' is something a close friend said to me once after I told her about reaching 150 on the A1. she said "next time you're doing that speed think to yourself - what would happen if a tire blew right now" works every time. -
show + go = perfect The Ice grey one on 18's was one of the first modded corrados i saw when i joined the forum, before i got my 16v, and it deffinatly got me hooked. The ethos behind these cars seems to be do something BIG to the engine (ie turbo it) then pretty it up a little, none of them are over-modded and garish but they all look amazing and you know theres something special under the bonnet, the way modding should be.

chrishills silver vr6 - the wheels are on!

yes mate, style dynamix. They're (if it remember rightly) et 28 and there are some issues with clearance over the VR's front calipers. I ran them with 3mm spacers for a bit which i wouldnt recomend really, then eventually had the caliper carriers ground back a bit which solved the problem. The only other issue was getting the center caps on the rears as you have to very carefully tap the center cap of the hub (baring cap?) down a bit so they go on, no big deal really. Clearance is good with a 60mm drop, I can still get full lock with no catching although the right front does sometimes scuff the archliner on big bumps and hard corners. I paid just shy of £900 for mine. I have to say they've transformed the look of an otherwise mediocre car, I've had alot of compliments on it which i doubt I would get running the speedlines! -
these things... although after reading what you just said henny, i think they should be fine. ta!
-
would the bumper hangers from a pre-facelift valver fit my VR? I've a feeling the answer will be no since the wings/bumper a different but can anyone confirm? ta

got to agree with phats 'seat runners' comment, holding the back of the seat into the runners while trying to line the front bit up and pull the spring for the peg out at the same time isnt the easiest thing in the world... but then i guess Joe Average wouldnt be doing that day to day... my flaws: 1) doesnt come with free petrol 2) oddly, you dont feel like you're going as fast as you are, so you go even faster to compensate 3) standard ride height and 15's....??? 4) the fact that, if you squint a bit while looking into direct sunlight, it looks a bit like an austin princess....
