Ultraviolet Recaro Interior Ultraviolet Recaro Interior Includes door cards and wiring loom for front seats. Good condition with only a few bad points which are photographed. Being as honest as possible. 1:Drivers seat base has a small bit of damage where some of the material is frayed. 2:The drivers bolster is a little bit saggy where the foam underneath is not firm anymore. No rips or tears in the bolster though at all. 3: Door cards have slight damage - not severe and easily fixable with a bit of glue. Front door card vinyl needs sticking down again and 2 small cracks in rear door cards. See pictures. 4: Zip on warning triangle holder is stuck closed. I have not tried to open it with force as I did not want to damage it. It may open with some persuasion? I bought this lot from VAGhag a while ago, with intention of putting into my Corrado. Unfortunately I am getting another car and selling the Corrado also so these must go. All I have done is give it a hoover and a quick clean. Would benefit from a professional clean. I am after what I paid for it and that is 650. How quickly do you need one? I have a good working pump and matching ECU which was removed from my car as I had an ABS fault which I thought was the pump/ECU as I had changed every thing else. Still had exactly the same fault after fitting another pump/ECU. Turned out to be a blown fuse behind the glovebox!!! The problem is that I am would not be able to post until after the 20th of this month as I am currently away from home. Let me know. Cheers, Sam EDIT! Just realised it is PAS pump you are after, and not ABS pump! What a dummy!

Well the time has come to let go of the Corrado. It will be up for sale in the next few weeks to make way for another car. I am getting another german coupe, but with four doors, a little newer and a little more horsepower. A Mercedes CLS 55 AMG!!! I have a set of Ultraviolet recaros which I bought from VAG Hag a few months back, they have not been fitted yet so they will be up for sale shortly too. I dont really know what price to put the car up for? The engine had a complete rebuild as per this thread, done only a few thousand since and most other mechanicals have been replaced at some point. Its just the body is starting to show, nothing major just small bubbles on the arches, stone chips etc. Is £3k in the right ball park for the car?

Took the Corrado for the MOT the other day, the car had been sat off the road for over 2 years. Called at the petrol station prior to MOT and a guy in the car in front got out and said "Nice motor, are you selling it?". So first five minutes on the road and getting chufties immediately! Well pleased. Then when I pulled up at the MOT place again nearly identical comment, "VR6?" "Yea", "Nice, are you selling it?". Unfortunately no as tempting as it may be. Anyway back on the road now, Got through the MOT with the usual advisory for front top mounts!!! Its just how they are!!

Prochem Crystal Green provides excellent results on carpets and upholstery. One tub will last you more than long enough as it is quite concentrated. I use it in a Numatic George.

I am sorry about that, but you only said you were "interested" in them and that's as far as it went. I had no further communication about the items you wanted so assumed you must not be interested anymore. Jimcarp was the first person to say he would 100% take them and I am sure that was the forum rules or at least used to be. -

Hi, I could post yes, The alternator was in good working order when removed a few years ago and has been sat on a shelf in my garage since. Its going to be £20 posted. Yes no problem, do you require this posting? Going to be £20 posted for this also. The gearbox came from a golf I bought to break, big ends were shot but the car did still drive and there was no problem with gearbox that I was aware of. Car had about 100k on IIRC. -
VR6 ENGINE PARTS - BLOCKS,HEAD,CRANK Etc. Bottom End Rebuild Parts: 2.8 Bare Block Ideal for re-bore to accept 2.9 pistons. This block came from a 1997 golf vr6. For Information I did a rebuild a few years back and the boring to 2.9 cost me 120 plus vat. -40 2.9 Block with worn bores Contains a very good crank shaft can be removed on request if the block is not needed. This engine was in my Corrado originally and suffered from bore wear, the crank is in great shape though. Comes complete with crank pulley and chain gear, Oil Pump and drive gear, Chain cover and front chain cover. - 100 Set of good 2.9 pistons, these were measured up a couple of years ago when removed and they were spot on, very little wear to skirts and well within tolerances. Good point Coullstar. I cant see Corrado prices going into orbit anytime soon. I think the general opinion so far has been go for it! It would be nice to try and hold on to the Corrado but i would need the garage space also. So you may see my Corrado up for sale soon along with parts!!

Yes Turbo VR, Rotrex VR has been on my mind on more than one occasion! But once you start doing projects like that you would be constantly tweaking things and modifying things i reckon to get it perfect. I have become quite a fan of the OEM state of cars where everything is left un abused and as it was initially designed. The corrado can still come up with expensive surprises itself like you say Portent.

Hi, I have had my Corrado quite a while now and the best part of the last two years it has hardly moved! A few months ago I had a surge of energy and decided to get it back on the road, put some money into it, get it resprayed etc. I have sourced a Recaro UV interior and I have got all the MOT jobs done so far! I am a big fan of everything with the Corrado and feel somewhat loyal to it! BUT.. I bought a 2002 Mercedes E-Class estate diesel as a run around and I have been very impressed with it and Mercedes in general. I think I have got the Mercedes bug, similar to how I felt when I bought my first mk2 golf driver! I had been looking into buying a newer E-class diesel estate, maybe 2010/11 model and keeping the Corrado as a toy.....Until I stumbled across and became quite obsessed with the W211 E63 AMG Estate for similar money!! SO the dilemma is should I Stick with my Corrado and get her restored somewhat, and keep the Diesel estate as a run around? OR Should I Twist and get rid of both cars and opt for 500+BHP animal of a car! Both have positives and negatives. I don't use my car for work as I work away quite a lot and don't do many miles per year. So having the two cars is quite hard to justify. Opinions and thoughts welcome

I had the issue of abs light coming on as soon as setting off, approx 10mph. Also getting pump fault error code on vag-com. Changed pumps and ecus's. Turned out to be a blown fuse behind the glove box. There is 2 fuses and 3 relays. Check these are ok as these will throw up all kinds of incorrect error codes on vag-com.
-
hello, I had the same problem with the original engine that was in my car. Seemed noisiest at round the 3000 rpm mark. Also you could here the knocking noise when the engine was under load too. Turned out to be piston slap, ovalised bores.
-
Finally I have got my ABS working and the light does what it should and doesn't come back on when driving! Just need to bleed the system again, got the old spongey brake pedal now, normally takes a few bleeds before it firms up. After changing the pump and ECU I had the exact same fault that I always had: 01276-ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64) 16-00 Signal Outside Specification Light comes on at about 15mph. Thought could be sensor related so cleaned all the abs rings on the car and checked sensors, AGAIN, all ok. Then reading another thread on here about a different problem the ABS relays and fuses were mentioned that I did not know about, hidden away behind the glove box! Thought I'd check these out, found a blown fuse!! Fitted new and hey presto! fully working abs! So if you have any abs problems check these buggers first!!! It was the fuse in the middle of the photo above the 179 relay that had gone.
-
Interesting, are theses the three relays and a fuse behind the glovebox? wondered what they were for. Do you reckon they could cause the code: 01276-ABS Hydraulic Pump (V64) 16-00 Signal Outside Specification.?? Had this code a while and I have just replaced the pump unit and the ECU today! I'm still getting the exact same code. It brings on the ABS light at about 15mph.

It looks like the later chain set up normally found in the 24v engines with the single chain and solid polymer tensioner instead of the steel and riveted plastic that the 12v engines have. The bottom chain has gone so unfortunately it's best to get the engine out and assess the damage.
-
Yes most likely the timing. Can you see the cams turning when you are turning the engine over? Through oil filler cap. If so then the chains hasn't snapped, it may have slipped a tooth or stretched? I would check the timing is correct by putting cylinder 1 to tdc, remove rocker civer and check the slots in the camshafts are in-line above the surface of the head. Then take it from there.
