Yes there is a sequence on turn of ignition that an mot tester looks for. Also this fault is not one that appeared after the car was stood, this fault occurred when I was still driving the car regularly. I have vag-com and it is coming up with hydraulic pump unit. I have a spare pump and ECU which I will be fitting next week hopefully!

Your initial symptoms were what I got when my coilpack failed. Lost all power sounded like a bag of spanners. That wouldn't explain no compression?? That is an odd one.

I have had my Corrado off the road for over two years now due to buying a house and so on. I managed to keep it despite people (girlfriend) telling me to get rid! I have been away from the forum for a while too but kept having and look every now and again at parts fro sale mainly! The time has now come to get the old girl back on the road. It now has a new home in the garage that I have built at my new house which has plenty room for working on cars etc. Car started first time with a new battery. Got a problem with the ABS at the moment which will hopefully be cured with a replacement pump and ecu which I have, then its MOT time and back on the road!!! Then fit my Ultraviolet Recaros's that I bough last year!!!! Pic of the Corrado eager to get out of the new home!

Getting my Corrado back on the road after being stored at my parents for 2+ years! Phoned up HIC from seeing the adverts on here and was very pleased with the initial quote given. James was very helpful and did his best to get me the deal. It Was over £250 cheaper than the last time I insured my Corrado from memory. Excellent. I asked for a quote on my current run about (E-Class Estate) on the off chance it may be a bit cheaper, and that came up £250 cheaper than what I am currently paying! Couldn't be happier. So cancelled my current policy and insured both cars through HIC. Thankyou very much HIC!

Can I get a VR6 set without emblem please -
See my rebuild thread: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=41191&page=4 page 1 and page 4. I made some small L-Brackets from angle iron which made things easy.

I will take the ABS Pump and ecu if still available.

Thanks for that. just another question, do you use the Passat brake servo and MC? Cheers

Thinking of doing this conversion as I am having a load of grief getting my C back on the road after nearly 2 years of been stood. ABS light comes on at about 15mph and stays on. Have changed sensors numerous times, no sensor codes coming up on VAG-COM. Just the one outlet valve out of specification code. So just a few quick questions: Does the donor B4 Passat have to be a specific model or can it be any model, engine size etc.? Does this delete the ABS ECU in the passenger footwell? Is the majority of the wiring plug straight into the fuseboard? cheers, Sam

Very Interested. PM'd -
Thanks for the offer StueyB. I have managed to get hold of a new genuine sill repair section in the meantime though. I will give you a shout if i need these. Cheers, Sam

Well I decided to sort the ABS problem on the Corrado today to put it through its MOT. Then I found a rust bubble in the sill, and then discovered that its f***ed! So I need a sill or a piece at least 12" long with the centre being where the hole is on the attached picture. If anyone has one or is breaking a C and is willing to cut it out, I would be most grateful. Regards, Sam

Thread ressurection! I have not been on the forum much over the last year, I have been very busy with buying a house and finishing my University degree, which is coming to an end shortly, and the old Corrado has been sorned until this month. Its brilliant to be in it again! BUT I still need some doors! I'm planning to totally get the paint work sorted on it this year so if anyone has any doors, both sides preferably I could be interested. I suppose they dont have to be ice grey violet as they will be getting painted but it would be nice. Regards, Sam

I have a dubpower exhaust on mine, cant fault it, was a piece of p**s to fit. The rear tailpie comes out at an angle just like the OEM exhaust which is a nice touch. Im happy with it anyway, sounds stock when just ticking over and then just a slighlty sportier rasp when you put your foot down, i also have a 6 branch manifold too. Not boomy on the motorway which is perfect. there are some pics on the exhaust discussion thread which i took when fitting it, http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?15722-The-definitive-quot-what-exhaust-quot-discussion-thread!/page46

I have got a little arc welder similar, (a clarke one), comes in handy for all sorts, Making workbenches and making up special tools, welding nuts onto rounded off heads etc. But as carrots said for cars a MIG is more suitable. It is possible to weld thin(ish) sheet with an arc using very small electrodes and low amps but not ideal and very easy to just blow a whole through.

Where abouts in West Yorkshire are you? I have a second hand coilpack in my garage you could try? possibly some leads too?

I would be interested in these, been looking at getting some for a while but been mega busy alately so not had much Corrado time. Things are getting back on track now though. When i was looking before i found BFI do sets at reasonable prices, but then theres shipping costs etc from the states. Maybe a group buy would solve this? check the link http://store.blackforestindustries.com/engine3.html So what we need to know is what kind of prices would a similar set cost to be made in the uk? Then weigh up the options. -
I will take one if you still have one available mate. Pm me payment details if so. Cheers, Sam
-
Interesting, I have been looking at getting some kind of lifting system for my garage, as i no longer have a pit now i have moved. The price is good for this system but like a few have mentioned i am a bit concerned about lifting on the sills and to be honest it looks slightly unsafe to me. A system i have been looking at getting is this http://www.levo-artis.com/index.html More expensive but has more possibilities, i.e mot style jacking beam would be brilliant!

I have some engine partsyou may be interested in Karl, i was going to rebuild another lump but i just cant be arsed! I have in my garage: AAA Block ABV Block (lips on bores) Good ABV Crank 2.9 pistons and rods 3 sets of piston rings for 2.9 pistons(so need another 3) set of main crank bearings (VAG) The big end shells should be ok,were used for about 1000 miles then i swapped engines. Also have probably all other engine parts. Let me know if you are interested in could probably sell you the whole lot of things at a good price, as its just taking up space and in my mums garage. Cheers, Sam

Lol at most lot of the VR's for sale lately
iceviolet replied to MK1Campaign's topic in General Car Chat
Are you interested in an ice grey Karl?? Thinking about selling mine, would like £3.5k for it considering engine rebuild and rear end just being done. Would need a little paint to make mint again. -
Hi Tom, Read through your TDI build thread the other day, brilliant stuff, top work! What kind of power can you easily get of the VP? And what mods would need doing to achieve it? You have really got me thinking about doing one of these conversions now! I have been looking at the PD engined donors but as you say they can bea lot more expensive and more work.
