  1. Can I also direct people to this thread please - it contains lots of the small bits and pieces that I have left - thanks! Tom
  2. thegrouch - subframe has sold I'm afraid mate 16vstyle - that loom went a while ago too mate, sorry! Mark - PM replied to, thanks
  3. VWVW - it won't include the hubs or ABS rotors, just the bare bearing housings. I'll get some pictures once I've got them, cheers. Dox - PM'd DIGGER B - PM'd nsmjl02 - PM'd Maverick - I'm afraid nsmjlo2 has claimed the handbrake cover, but the gearknob is still available if you want that on its own?
  4. Check the connections to the battery too, including the earth connections to the chassis legs and engine.
  5. Think there's a lot of engine mount fabrication needed and the wiring isn't the same at all, lots of work required. A swap into a mk2 is pretty much plug and play as far as I know, but its a lot more involved into a mk1.
  6. I removed the pedal box from the VR6 I broke and found it tricky even with the dashboard out so I'd say with the dashboard in it's going to be trickier - not impossible though I don't think.
  7. nsmjl02 - the photographs show the condition fairly well - its not 'as new' but its as close as possible, definitely better than the one you've got by the sounds of it, if you want it let me know. Woody - yeah I do have the wiper arms, both in good condition, do you want both? groundforce - sorry, that part has already sold, thanks though. Dox - Please read the top of the thread, all prices include postage. If you want it then its yours, but please confirm rather than just calling dibs on it. VWVW - will have both front bearing housings in the next couple of weeks, both in good condition if you're interested? No subframe or wishbones though, both sold. hendrikbmx - sorry, that part isn't available, thanks for enquiring though. andy - PM'd Thanks Tom
  8. I've got a full engine loom in good condition, ready to fit. Looking for £40 posted for it. Cheers Tom
  9. Hi, Now I've finished breaking my VR6 and the shell has gone I thought I'd start selling off all of the individual bits that I still have left that haven't sold yet. All prices INCLUDE postage unless stated otherwise. ----------------------------------------------------- 2.0 8V (ADY) engine. In fantastic condition internally, comes complete with inlet and exhaust manifolds, injectors, distributor, flywheel, clutch, wiring etc. This engine has done 190k but doesn't use a drop of oil or water, is quiet and generally in excellent condition. The picture of the dipstick is the colour of the oil after 8000 miles, it was changed in September last year and did the whole winter so it proves the condition of the engine. It would make an ideal base for modification! I don't want anything for it so its FREE to a good home - pictures below: 02A 5-speed gearbox. Again, 190k but in excellent condition, filled with MT90, no noises, crunches or whines - £20 collected ABS ECU - P/N 1H0 907 379 - Full working order - £20 posted OE (but not genuine) VR6 alternator, 90A. In good used condition - £30 VR6 fan control module - all fuses ok and working correctly - £15 VR6 thermostat housings (two of) - both in good used condition, complete with genuine thermostats - ready to fit - £15 each 3 VR6 coolant hoses, all in good condition, excludes top hose and hose to expansion tank - £10 each or £25 all in: VR6 engine plastic, the front piece that slots onto the tabs in the inlet manifold, good condition - £10 VR6 CE2 fusebox, including plenty of fuses and all of the relays - excellent condition - £20 Twilight Violet Bonnet Hinges - good unworn condition - £15 Twilight Violet Fuel Filler Flap - absolutely unmarked, pristine condition - £15 ----------------------------------------- Please keep all initial contact and enquiries in this thread as per the forum rules. I'm happy to accept payment by Paypal, bank transfer or postal order. Thanks Tom
  10. I'd just like to rekindle this thread briefly. I have used AVS for two large orders in the last year (£500+). Both times I contacted Andy at AVS before placing the order and asked him if he could do anything regarding the price with them being fairly large orders and both times he has worked wonders and reduced the overall price by almost £100! He offers really good service and in this day and age it really is nice to speak to someone who is obviously knowledgable, enthusiastic and willing help other enthusiasts. He's saved me plenty of money and all of the parts he's supplied are of OEM quality so its a win-win situation all round. I can't recommend AVS enough, so a big thumbs up to them from me :D Tom
  11. Doesn't sound standard to be honest - maybe to do with a now defunct alarm/immob system or something like that. Can you post up a picture of it?
  12. You can't get the slider pins seperately, they only come as part of a new carrier, however this company sell a repair kit with new piston seals, dust seal and slider pin seals etc - £17.50 - it's the top one - link
  13. Jon - yes it's intact, no cracks or damage that I can see. Make it £17.50 and you have a deal. Cheers Tom
  14. 21 windows - that part sold with the radiator I'm afraid, thanks for asking though! Jon - Yes I do have that part, £20 posted? Cheers Tom
  15. Yep, they definitely look like they're past their best! An upgrade is available for these bushes - the R32/TT uses the same diameter bush but it is totally solid (rather than having the cut-outs) and tightens up the handling of the Corrado without noticeably affecting the ride quality. Here's a link to them - they're the fourth bush down. As the wishbones need to come off to change the bushes I would definitely consider replacing the ball joints at the very least if I were you. They're not hugely expensive and do wear so while it's all apart it makes sense. As you've said, you could go the whole hog and replace the suspension top mounts, ball joints, sway bar bushes, sway bar links, tie-rods, tie-rod ends, wheel bearings and CV joints while you're at it but it could work out to be quite an expensive little job! Hope that helps :) Tom
  16. An awesome write up so far, well done :) I was lucky when I did my OBD2 conversion in that all of the hard work had been done by Stealth to the car that I bought the OBD2 gear from. All I did was rewrap the loom, check everything and plug it in, albeit with a small mod to the fan wiring. I do have to say though that the MFA will over-read by roughly 4mpg on the MFA. This is because the MFA fuel consumption is calculated by the injector pulse duration - the OBD2 system utilises much finer fuel metering than OBD1 and as a result the MFA gets things slightly wrong. I could easily get 42mpg from my OBD2 VR at 60mph on the motorway according to the MFA - a proper calculation resulted in a real world 38mpg which is about right for 60mph. So, its a total myth that OBD2 gives you better fuel economy, it will be roughly the same as it was with OBD1! (in my experience anyway!) However there's a definite placebo effect when you look down at the MFA and see that it approaches 40mpg far more often :)
  17. I was under the impression that the sunroof from a B4 is what you need. I could be wrong but I think the B5 one mounts differently, don't quote me on that though!
  18. Yep, no gaskets at all, just the sealant. The proper stuff is uber-expensive from VW, about £35 a tube, but I bought it when I did mine and had no leaks whatsoever.
  19. I've got one, genuine VW and was fitted new in 2004, no leaks and in good clean condition. £30 posted. Cheers Tom
  20. Welcome to the forum! I think I've spoken to you before, do/did you also have a Seat Leon 20VT? I work across the road from your garage, we come in quite a lot to fuel up the hearse/limo's etc :) Your car sounds good, I think I saw the advert for it on the internet, did you get it from Derby Trade Cars? If so that's where mine came from lol. Enjoy :) Tom
  21. Thanks for the pics of the bonnet Chris. It certainly isn't as bad as mine which has a bum-sized dent in it, but to be honest it's not a priority for me to get the bonnet sorted at the moment and I can't justify the journey up to you to pick it up! Thanks for taking the time to get the pictures though and I hope you do manage to sell it, would be a shame to scrap such a good bonnet. Cheers Tom
  22. Terry, I thought you'd ask that as I've just seen your wanted post. Sorry mate, they weren't present on this car, a very desirable part! I do have the undertray itself though, if you're interested? Cheers Tom
  23. Rick - yep, just removed the interior light. I have the fitting itself and the trim surround. All in good condition. £20 posted for the lot if you want it. Cheers Tom
