Seems like there are a few mountain bikers on here. Do we need a show us your bike thread? :)

I think if I got a Fiat Coupe the first thing I'd do would be to buy several tins of filler and delete those stupid slit things above the wheels. They spoil an otherwise very pretty car.

The .txt file is just a .dxf file that you should be able to open in just about any cad software ever made. I use a thing called QCad. The only reason I included the dxf is in case whoever you get to do it wants to CNC them; it might save a bit of time. If it's going to be turned manually though the image with the dimensions should be enough to make one; just right click and save as on the image, give it to your uncle and see what he thinks :).

2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfcorrado-bonnet-release-grommet.png[/attachment:3ncmbc5q] The dimensions aren't really all that critical, to be honest; you could make the whole thing 20% too big and it would still work.

I have a partially broken one somewhere that I ended up replacing with a home made aluminium one, much like is being suggested here. I'll see if I can find it and post its dimensions, though I probably won't manage it tonight.

The most obvious sign of a blown/cracked matrix is that the air coming from the heater smells of anti-freeze.

Make a fake bonnet out of card board; then you don't even need to do it in the dark :D.

Does that one come with Bluetooth?

I have this theory as to why the newer circuits in F1 aren't liked as much by the public the older ones. Since safety is inevitably much higher priority than it was in the past, the run off areas are much larger and thus the cameras are all much further away from the cars than they are at Spa, or other older circuits. This means what you see are all really long shots and you don't get a proper perspective of speed. The long straights in China are a case in point. The cars are probably nibbling 200mph by the end of that, but watching on the TV you'd swear they were doing 80, tops.

If it was the Fox model I might have considered it.

I'm not normally one for soap boxing and crowing about political correctness gone mad etc., but this is just ridiculous: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-humber-12115179 So basically, they've cost the public money in the court costs and wasted the court's time. Time that could be used for dealing with things that deserve attention, like I don't know, car theft or dangerous driving/speeding? Furthermore, if this gets lots of attention, everybody is going to be afraid to flash their lights and there will be more speeding leading to more accidents. How is this possibly in the public's interest?

Don't replace the injector seals unless you're feeling rich as they're £3.50 EACH from the stealer.

AFAIK all the non-Corrado ones have the direction and fan speed controls the other way around. Who'd have thought it, the Corrado needing a rare, discontinued and under-engineered part?

Surely greater leverage would result in a more mushy pedal? More power, sure, but worse feel.

The only way of knowing for sure is to abrade the paint off and look for holes. This will need to happen regardless of how bad the rust is so if you're curious you may as well do it. You won't be able to tell anything from inside the car as there is another skin and the other side of the wheel well in the way. Edit: Actually, I suppose you'll be able to see through the wiring holes to the outer skin etc. I would tackle it from the outside first though.

Seems like it would be a total ball ache to replicate all those bends in steel. I replaced all my lines and the ABS pump in a day or two, using hand bent copper. I reckon it would take you way longer in steel as you'll have to use a proper bending tool and then you'll have to coat them. If I was to do it again though I'd probably use Cupronickel. That's what new cars seem to be using now.

130K and a very obvious noise when warm. I plan on changing them when time/money/space allows.

I have a shiny box of hoses .

The Corrado originally came with a beige coloured ignition switch that was prone to breaking. At some point it was superceded by a black version which is allegedly more reliable. I have a black one because my beige one broke .

If you have the pin number for the alarm you can do it yourself. You just need to get hold of the service manual (it's available online pretty easily) and read it very carefully. Basically it involves a very specific sequence of turning the ignition on an off and watching the display LED. I actually went the other way; the chirps annoyed me so I turned them off. FWIW I initially didn't have the pin number for my alarm, but through some arm twisting managed to get a dealer to retrieve it for me. You need to get the serial number off the alarm box (it'll be in the dash somewhere) and a dealer can ask TOAD for the pin for a particular serial number. You can't go to TOAD direct though, it has to be through a dealer.

Cool, but what did you use to clean up the bolts? :norty:

I've pretty sure the salvage value is just a percentage of the insured value. My (ex-)insurance company tried to write my car off at one point and I recall them mentioning 15% being the salvage figure. 630/4000 is pretty close to that.
