I'll let her know that then. She's dead proud of it as it's factory original and only done 30,000 miles in nearly 30 years!!!! Nick

My wife might want to bring her 79 mini but I'll try and talk her out of it, ha ha. Nick

Awesome, any excuse to give the old girl a polish and to get my camera out. Is it an open invite to anyone as I have a mate with a MKIII Golf who maybe up for coming along to? Nick

I'm there! I'm in basingstoke so only a sort hop for me. Nick

Not a fan of G60 steels on Rados apart from on silver cars, so you're OK with me :-) nick

Congrats! There seem to be quite a few of us in the SUrrey/hants area. Maybe we should sort out a local meet? Nick
-
Yeah that's the badboy, where did you get it from? Nick

Hi Folks, Liking the light wywbrows on the Rado as it seems to transform the slightly sad look of the lights to a meaner one if that makes sense? Anyway where can I get one? Looked on the bay with no luck and don't know where else to try. I want the straight one not the one that goes up around the grill area. Many thanks! Nick

VW have actually stopped taking orders for Golf GTI's anyway so only stuff in stock is available new. The Rocco should sell quite well between now and the MKVI Golf GTI launch which I think will be spring next year.

That looks a cheeky little number! Look forward to hearing it in full effect at somepoint. Nick

you have a deal fella :-) Nick

How's about I give you £10 plus postage for the one on your car and you fit the gleaming new one in it's place? Nick
-
I get 33mpg out of my 2.0 valver on a daily basis and about 19mpg when hooning it about. nick

If you have a late silver one that you would part with that would be awesome! Nick
-
Yeah I realised it was more MKII Golf style but it's a VW style badge so doesn't look like it shouldn't belong. I'll look up trimsport! Nick
-
It came from Awesome GTI and was a frightening £14 including VAT and postage, still cheaper than a replica badge from the guy in greece on eBay or ARZ tning or whatever they're called. Just need to sort out one for the front grill now. Nick

So I stuck this on the boot of my 2.0 16v which is running a KR cam, drilled airbox and K&N. I bought it becuase mine is missing all it's 16v badges and this one looks OEM+ What do you guys think (couldn't find a button to set up a poll!)? Nick

Just the cam that's driven by the chain and not the belt (inlet I think). We undid all the caps on the cam being changed and removed them after marking up the chain and both cams. Then we loosen the caps on the other cam and carefully lifted it from the dizzy end. THis allowed us enough play to remove the other cam without touching the cambelt or timing. Fitted new cam making sure the dots and the chain marks were lined up then re torqued all the caps and then bunged her back together. Yup drill the airbox on the wing side and only drill the bottom section. Nick -

Spent today with a mate fitting the KR cam from a 1.8 and replacing my thermostat. Now goes much quicker and runs at the right temp. Result! Nick -
I've heard nothing but rave reviews from guys I know running MKV GTI's, Audis and Skodas that run the 2.0 FSI lump. I'm going down there myself with the above clan for an RR day on the 4th October. Nick

Hearing this a lot. Mate bought a MKV R32 (used but low mileage) at the beginning of the year for a good price. He reckons he's lost £3K on it already. If you search AUtotrader and ebay it's littered with R32's going for silly cheap money compared to what they were new, nobody wants them and even the dealers can't shift them. This is one of the many reasons why VW are shelving the V6 for the MKVI Golf, sales just aren't ther ein the current climate. Instead the MKVI .:R is going to be a 4 pot turbo with more power than the stnadard GTI and with Haldex AWD. Nick
