  1. Just to make it clear I wasn't having a dig or a moan, people are free to do what they want I just thought it prudent to make folks aware of the facts. And yes you're right, anything is better than the candles in a dirty goldfish bowl the Rado has as standard! Nick
  2. Yeah I don't disagree that factory units can be pretty poor on people in other cars. I'm forever being dazzled by Range rovers and BMWs. As for the law on aftermarket HID's it's pretty clear. I looked this up ages ago as I wanted to fit HIDs to my 1990 Passat but the fuzz round my way are pretty ho ton stuff like this and I decided it wasn't worth the risk. Anyway get some pics up! I want to see what they look like in a rado :-) Nick
  3. Right I did lower case img and that was the only difference! Anyhoo nice pics and nice rado. Not normally a fan of G60 steels on these cars but it works well with yours! Nick
  4. "and they confirmed twice that they believed that the position had been given back in a manner that was 'okay'. " This bit is key. If as they claim they were notified twice by Race officials the whole set of maneuvers were OK and they acted on that I can't see how the FIA can uphold the stewards decision. If the stewards felt that confident of an infringement they should have notified race control at that time. I still think it'll be kept in place though as I don't think the FIA will want to appear weak from backing down. Nick
  5. It's a ttf so it should. I'll report back later on. Nick
  6. Good work, I'll slap thi son the Mac when I get home! Nick
  7. I use a long socket, allen key and stilsons (sp) as they tighten their grip on the socket the more you force them to undo. Also always worth adding the McPherson strut tools for the slotted nut to your tool kit. I used to tap the slotted nut round with a hammer and scredriver but using the correct tool you can get it so much tighter! nick
  8. Any-one like to lay money on Kimmi being in red overalls next year? ;) This is great almost as entertaining as the last laps at Spa! :D What goes around comes around hey! Humm that's all very interesting stuff. I've always thought Raki was decent chap, especially when I heard he missed a practice day last season to go mess about on snowmobiles. Nick
  9. Oh yeah, ignore me I'm an idiot, ha ha. Nick
  10. WHat size wheels and tyres are you running? DO they have a silly ofset? In the past I've had MKII Golfs that have handled like this due to straying too far from the original specification wheels. Tramlining, torque steer and very twitchy under braking. Switching back to wheels closer to the original spec cleared it all up. Nick
  11. I would suspect coil pack and or leads. THey get pretty stroppy with age. nick
  12. Ha ha Ed the duck rules! My Mrs has a 80's Garfield in her mini. Nick
  13. That's all reasonably correct but is not against the rules. Besides the rule the stewards have penalised him for is for leaving the track and is all a bit weird really. See my earlier post Nick

    8v>>ABF

Oh yeah and replace the Digifant 8v ECU for the ABF 16v ECU. Nick

    8v>>ABF

Doing this on an 8v Rado should be easy peasey. You just need to swap the engine loom from the donor car to the Rado as the ABF car's loom should plug right into the fuse box. This all assumes that the fuse box in the Rado is the same as 90 spec MKII golfs and MKIII Golfs. Nick
  16. Fair enough chap, good luck with it and keep the faith. nick
  17. Yeah should be fine on 95 RON altough they prefer 98+. Whereabouts you based fella? I know an excellent VW specialist in BAsingstoke but for all I know you could live in north Scotland so may be of no use at all. Nick
  18. Some interesting readng: http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954, ... 23,00.html Nick
  19. Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali was thrilled with the turn of events, however, and stated: "I have often said the race is not over until the official results are published and that was the case today." Yeah that's right Stefano, what every race fan wants is to spend £100's going to Grand Prix to then have to wait 3 hours to know whatthe actual result. I mean watching the first person to cross the line win isn't what racing is about is it? Nick
  20. Where are you located green_16v_corrado? If you're reasonably local I might be tempted to swap my standard (All very recent) system for your stainless one. Nick
  21. The Rado back box in unique to the car and not shared by anything in the VAG group. They're also horribly expensive for geniune ones! Euro car parts quote £207.69 + VAT for an OE one and £59.14 +VAT for a non gen one. Hope that helps, Nick
  22. haha no mate not yet, but I am going to :) I went to look at two VR6's today, and confirmed my crazy thoughts of wanting one again....... Thanks for the reply Andy, I will wait a few days then Good work mate, when you get one drop me a PM and we can go for a pint and chat Rado's and Minis. nick
