That is the nuts right there! Nick

It's a VR Oh well in that case it's an overdraft readout so you can see how quickly it's increasing with every prod of the throttle. Clever those germans. Nick

Boost gauage? Nick

ANd so it should be going down. Crude is 1/2 the price it was at the peak of fuel prices and yet petrol prices haven't dropped 50%!!!! nick

I only just mailed them so I'll pop up a reply when I find out. Nick

Not really. They are just different methods by which you change the coding of the ECU. A remap is changing the code on the existing unit and chipping is changing the actual chip itself. The result of both of these actions however is the same and the terms have become essentially interchangable and to mean the same thing. Nick You contradicted yourself a fair bit there Nick! I say they're different methods, so you say "not really. they're just different methods" *gets bored*[/quote:tt9t4umq] My point was you are asking which one the OP was talking about and I was pointing out it doesn't matter as both are the same in meaning if not in execution. Whether the 9a is reprogrammable by changing the chip or just rewriting it is immaterial, the question is whether that code can be changed by any means full stop. Unless I misunderstood your post. That's all true but a girl I know spent £400 on a pushchair. I mean what the hell? It's bloomin massive and barely fits in the boot of her 05 reg Focus (So she's thinking of changing car). I asked her why she bought it and she said that it's the most comfortable for the little fella. I did ask if 6 months how he was able to give her an informed judgement on which he preffered but apparently she could tell. No wonder this country has problems with high levels of personal debt when people spend that much money on a pushchair and then need to buy a new car to put it in. I did mention that I knew of a good folding puschchair she could have had for free but apparently the other mum's would laugh at it. Don't get me wrong I'm all for kids having the right stuff to help them grow and develope but frankly 6 month old Jr will never know the difference between a 15 year old fold up chair and Mothercare's latest go faster stripe equiped behemouth. It's all just marketing and I swear new parents are complete suckers for it. Just look at the tat they get for offspring number two! Now you're talking, that's proper Dub styled family transport! Do a search for the $50 paint job on google. You want a few litres of "Rustoleum" in your chosen colour, some proper mineral thinners, Poundshop rollers and paint tray, Decent B&Q gloss roller pads, pound shop wet and dry paper and some masking tape. You mat laugh but there are cars with concours trophies that have been painted with this method. A friend painted his mini and a mutual friend of ours confessed he couldn't have got as a good a finish in his spray booth without agressive machine polishing cutting after spraying. It is however all in the prep before and between coats and it's very labour intensive. But for a complete repaint of your car for under £100 and you can spare the time it's certainly worth a go. Nick

So what woould you guys recommend to fit in the standard door pods and dash tops? I too am wanting to upgrade my sounds but I'm not interested in changing the door pods etc. I just want some better sounds in the doors and I'll be adding a punchy 10" sub in the boot. Nick

It's all in the packing. I've done 2 tip runs in mine in recent weekends. The 1st run was a complete Passat B3 estate interior and I got the whole lot in with the back seats down. 2nd run was a 10' x 6' shed and after cutting it up into smaller pieces that all went in in one load although I was suffering some scrapage and the headlights pointed in the sky! The biggest poblem is the height of the opening, other than that it seems to swallow about the same if not more than my old MKII golfs. Nick

Why do modern children need so much equipement to go out? When me and my bro were kids (In the early 80's) my mum took us and our stuff out in a Morris Minor and then a MKI Fiesta. I really don't see why having an extra person in the car who is at most 2 feet tall can mean you suddenly need to purchase a 7 seater estate car. And what is it wit kids pushchairs these days? They've got more wheels, knobs and toys than mst of my cars have ever had. Keep the Rado, buy good quality 2nd hand folding baby transport and laugh at your friends who spend £1,000's on their credit cards so Jr can have all the best kit when in fact Jr is only interested in sleeping and where the next feed is coming from. What off the shelf Tamiya Chasis will these shells fit on? I've got an M Chassis mini cooper but that is clearly too short! nick

I've heard conflicitng views on that. I know K-Jet is a no but I thought the KE-Jet was a little more clever and there is some scope for remapping. I think I'll email JKM in Portsmouth and see what they say. nick

How much was he asking for a remap on the 9A? Nick

No worries, look forward to seeing the changes. I hope this place has a cool carpark for some good group shots. nick

Post up some pics of what you go and I'l see if I can figure it out for you. nick

Did you pay this fella to fit them? If so I wouldn't be that happy that they're not right. The flickering could well be down to the old wiring in your car. I would also like to point out that HIDs fitted to your car are illegal and you may have issues come MOT time or get tugged by VOSA/the fuzz for them. I'm not having a winge or moan but I feel many people are unaware of this and it's good to be armed with the facts if you ever get caught out. They do look good though. Nick

Right looking for another one. I bought Corradudes but it only lasted 16hrs before leaving me on the dual carriageway. Anyone else got one lying around? Nick
