  1. I saw you having a go around Cadwell Park this afternoon, luckily you managed to avoid all the incidents that happened throughout the afternoon!
  2. I bought my Ch's for less than that. Good luck!
  3. I filmed the first time mine started, it's there for inspiration when I loose interest. Easily done when the weather is like it is!
  4. I fully agree, we have a Kia C'eed Diesel estate as a works car and for the money I think it's fantastic! It goes well enough, economical and has good kit in it. Don't get me wrong, I can't get over the badge personally and I'm a massive vw fan (we have 3 in the house between 2 of us!) but apart from that it's a great example of how budget diesel motoring has progressed. We all need our heads examining! Corrados are great fun and a bit of a niche classic but are showing their age against modern basic cars!
  5. It's not running quite yet but it is back on all four of it's wheels! I need to get an exhaust fitted, fit new front solid brake lines, sort out the air intake and then the legalities of getting her roadworthy. After that then it's body work! I've driven a VR6 with the new upgraded shift, it's refreshing!
  6. For a second I thought you were on about ClubGTI! This place is nirvana in comparison to the politics on there!
  7. That polo shifter mod is one of the best things I've used on a Corrado, excellent value for money!
  8. I did this on mine this afternoon. Easy little mod :-)
  9. I also have the same type of pictures in my thread showing how the old foam rots away with time. One of those things. It's also not unheard of for the flaps to jump a few teeth on their gears causing in them to remain slightly open when you wanted them shut. Either way, you need to basically remove the dash (really not hard and worse than it sounds!) to get the parts you need. If one of the things mentioned above is gone, then chances Re that the other is also not right!
  10. If you had the budget, I think Aftermarket works best. As said above, Kev is the man to ask. I would go for it if I had the money.
  11. If you want high fuel, mediocre power and an awesome sound go vr6 or if you want fairly high fuel, great power and an average noise, go 20vt! Similar price minus remap.
  12. Vr6's are cheap enough so why not swap cars? It's not difficult but to do it to vr6 spec, you need potentially new wider front wings, new hubs, new drive shafts, new wishbones, new gearbox clutch and flywheel, uprated fuel pump, different wiring, different clocks for the Rev counter to work, uprated front suspension for the extra weight, bigger arb, new front end of exhaust system and presumably other little bits. Even if you found all of that cheap and never spent the money renewing bushes and bearings or cleaning them up, your still looking at close to a grand. A decent valver (which you must have if The contemplating all this work) and a grand and you should pick up a half decent vr6 which will work properly out of the box.
  13. I found over a fiver worth of shrapnel in mine!
  14. The new vr6oc software is brilliant and I now visit there a thousand percent more than I ever used to!
  15. I think it's a damper box for the vacuum system to reduce pulses generated by the inlet manifold.
  16. Is the CCGB running that slowly these days that it is on the verge of the ending?
  17. This was kicking around a few months ago. No 3.0 ever made mainstream production. But then I think there isn't much more than different rods and pistons to make the 2.9 a larger displacement than the 2.8 so maybe they will do something along those lines?
  18. If fitment is an issue, these are exactly the same brake calipers as the 288 setup and driving on the road, you are very unlikely to notice any difference between 312 and 288 in a car as relatively light as the Corrado. You can also get 288 brakes to fit without any carrier spacers being required to fix the 6mm offset problem. 312 Brakes are good if you do a lot of track days (but then why not get 305 brembos?) or want the appearance of bigger brakes.
  19. You could have abs bleeding issue on any car by changing brake lines. When you open any lines you risk air getting in the system and travelling around.
  20. The right lines are easy to get and pretty cheap for anyone wanting an upgrade. Under £200 all in :) Good price, mine cost nearly £300 on my old rado!
  21. Bit of progress on the old girl for the first time in nearly 5 weeks! I've now fitted the full brake lines to the rear of the car and all of the exhaust heat shields. Slowly getting there!
