Sounds like a big build. Where are you based? You are free to look over mine if you are nearby anytime- but I didn't build it so can't help on that front!

If you delete the boost return it will change the noise a lot. You can get kits off ebay and the best ones vent the air from the bottom of the tb into the engine bay, but vent the OIL back into the side of the charger. That way you get the noise from the air escaping, but retain the oil to lube the charger. Having said that, you can get the simpler kit that vents both and just periodically lube the charger with PTFE spray. Don't bother with the twin kits, it doesn't change the noise much and won't improve power. Put a K+N filter in the airbox and drill the bottom if you don't mind the damage!

Potential ban on car modifying NOW WITH PETITION

I don't have that kind of paperwork from when my car was modified, and have no idea how to get it for the amount of stuff on it. -
Potential ban on car modifying NOW WITH PETITION
jaded2882 replied to dragon green's topic in General Car Chat
If As mentioned on ph, applying this retrospectively would be impossible. Banning modding on cars made after the new law would be easier but would still ruin most tuning and motorsport companies. I do hope it's not as bad as some are making out or I'm in trouble :-o -
I think it's about how the car comes to you. My G60 had a tired interior and a few dings on the outside and average paint. I made it fast and incredibly fun to drive, and I didn't mind throwing stuff in it or leaving it in a car park. Having said that, I didn't like leaving it on a street in a big city while I slept out of earshot in a hotel or flat- the thought of it being stolen and burned was too much. I cleaned it when I had time but didn't fret about it and never saw the point of trying to make it cosmetically perfect. The VRT I am a lot more protective about. The paint and the interior are in far better condition and I would like to keep it that way. The internals obviously need care (heating up before driving, very regular oil changes etc.). Despite this, I haven't lost sight of the point of a car like this- it gets driven, and I enjoy it most when I'm in it, not with it sitting in a garage.

I saw a few horrible pics and stories of burning rados and bought an extinguisher a few years ago. I think it's especially important with the VRT, the temperatures are scary!

Me, Ozowen, Harrier and Captainredeye in VW Driver magazine

Ye that's a great shot. No helmets though so I'm guessing you were going about 20mph on the parade lap? :) -
Ye the way the colour appears in certain light is great- petrol station lights after a polish are the best! It is difficult to find lag on a tuned G, it's suprising how they 'kick' if you stamp down on the accelerator.

No there isn't, not without a dispute being opened and I think even that is diffucult once you've left it.
-
So it's about a 50 50 split on opinions so far? ;-)

It sounds automatic, but I'm guessing he's just insanely quick at changing?

The A5 is awesome and it's 2 mins from my door :) Drop me a line if you come past Shrewsbury!

Welcome and good luck- tuned G60s are bags of fun on a track.

I had a few electrical issues yesterday and wonder if they could be related. First of all I noticed the interior light isn't coming on when the doors are opened, although it works fine on the switch. Then noticed my reverse light wasn't working. I checked the bulb and fuses and they're both fine. Then in the middle of the night the alarm went off for no apparent reason. I switched it off overnight but left it on all day today without any problem. All other lights, radio, windows etc. all working fine. I washed it yesterday before all this so I wonder if it could be water in somewhere it shouldn't be? Just wondered if anyone has had anything similar? To complicate matters, I'm hopeless with electronics and my C isn't wired up quite like any others!

I went to university in Liverpool and did my year work placement in Shrewsbury. Then did my last year of the degree and there was a job for me back in Shrewsbury. I'm a Ranger on the parks and nature reserves and my girlfriend is a nurse at Shrewsbury hospital. It's just like a bigger version of Bewdley to be honest!

It rings a bell, I think I know a few people younger than me who were taught by her but not me.

Welcome to the forum. Me and my girlfriend have family in Kidde and Bewdley so are around a lot. Shall we try and get a meet sorted if there's a few of us in the area? Would make a change from long drives to Wiltshire/North West etc. I can't afford the fuel in this thing :) I went to Bewdley High, finished in 2003!? Who was it?

That's very impressive, the sound is awesome. Is this the only R32T Rado in UK?

Red one spotted coming out of Cross Houses on the Shrewsbury to Bridgnorth road earlier today.

Agreed. A g lader and a boosted vr would sound so much better than some of the pap this year. Keep thinking of the free booze and fat paycheque though...
-
Ello geeeez! Nice to see you on here- great community and invaluable when things go wrong! Sorry the vrt isn't coming oto Cropredy, was looking forward to getting some pics of then together again.

Because having done the Euros and starting with their clubs in a few weeks, it isn't seen as a high priority versus the risk of injury and fatigue. You will notice the countries with a break in their club fixtures at the moment have more internationals.

I've not had much trouble unless going into rural parts of Wales to be honest. And not having to suffer Chris Moyles in the morning is worth every penny.
