Glad to see that you are still enjoying it Ian. I always found the rear brakes squeaked but it didn't bother me, probably just need cleaning etc. The front wishbones had new bushes all around plus track rod ends so might be worth checking the top mounts and bearings? With regards to the oil leak, I recently had one on mine and it turned out to be coming from one of the oil pressure switches so perhaps clean up and check around there as I can't imagine that genuine VW seals would have failed in the Oil Cooler already? My replacement clicked over 225K last month and is still going strong but as always they can tax your patience at times! Hope you find a new job soon. Ian.

It is the N/S (Passenger side) one in particular but would perhaps be interested in having both off you. Ian.

Thanks for the kind words from yourself and Adrian, it was nice to meet you both and everybody else who popped by the stand - The general reaction was very positive to the cars plus the position was good with both MK1 Golfs behind us and Scirocco's to the side! Ian.
-
The MK4 Golf one is what I have fitted, which is higher C.R. so hopefully slightly more power - Only slight disadvantage is that you must use good quality higher octane fuel! Ian.

Mine will be there too! Ian.

There are some good S/H ones on E Bay currently or this seller in Germany used to/may still do them on an exchange basis: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Lederlenkrad-Lenkrad-VW-Golf-3-VR6-GTI-Passat-Corrado-r-/140535782747?ssPageName=ADME:L:EOISSA:DE:1123 Ian.

Can a bad VR6 blue temp sensor make the car feel flat?
GlosterOx replied to Jim's topic in Engine Bay
The Blue Temp Sensor, as far as I understand it, controls the fuelling via the ECU - Normally if they are shot you have problems starting the engine when it is hot. Have you hooked it up to Vagcom Jim? Ian. -
I'm not sure of the exact name of it but there is a "bellows" type valve on the throttle body that can be adjusted, maybe a previous owner has tinkered with it to hide an ISV or similar fault? Ian.

I still keep getting 'phone calls + texts about an accident that was settled over 3 years ago, very frustrating! Ian. -
When mine went recently I replaced it with a Golf V5 one, has made an amazing difference in turning the engine over! Ian.
