  1. I may be wrong Drew, but I think that is the later Octavia roof/motor and thus the reason it won't fit - Maybe the donor car was built around the change over time? Ian.
  2. I am also after the plastic trim (drivers side) that fits internally on the top edge of the door and then the door card fits up against it as mine is partly broken - They are shaped to fit so are definitely handed. Ian.
  3. Same, I didn't bother with their website and just 'phoned them up instead. Ian.
  4. ---------- Post added at 11:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:14 AM ---------- [/color] this firm doesnt insure any car built after 1992!! cheers paul Really? - Mine is 1994 and they have insured it for the last 2 years without a problem. Ian.
  5. I use Peter James Insurance for mine, on a classic policy limited to 3K odd miles it is around £250 including breakdown cover. http://www.peterjamesinsurance.co.uk/ Ian.
  6. Me too, it is an amazing picture and one of my all time favourites. Ian.
  7. I've got a few of them Drew but they are all grey I'm afraid. Ian.
  8. Yes, later switch is a straight swap (2 connectors) - Can do you one for £10.00 posted if interested? Ian.
  9. IIRC there is a fabric outer seal but not sure about another one? - Will grab it out of the shed @ the weekend when it is light and photograph it for you. Ian.
  10. Yes, Harry Bucklands. Ian. ---------- Post added at 8:42 AM ---------- Previous post was at 8:41 AM ---------- Have "helped" to fit one before so got a reasonable idea - Liked this moonroof in particular as the seal was in far better condition than some I had seen. Ian.
  11. Happy days!! - Thanks to a tip off from Rodmax (Cheers Rod) a trip in the pouring rain yesterday to the local breakers confirmed they had a B4 1995 Passat Estate, so 15 minutes and £20 later I now have a moonroof with motor, motor cover inc 3rd sunvisor, interior light/switch assy plus a few other bits as well. Ian.

  13. Glad it was an easy fix Andy!! Ian.
  14. Welcome Dave - There have been electrical problems with the wiring behind the l/lamp switch, see this thread: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?49497-Headlight-switch-and-loom-fires-DIY-prevention. The wipers are generally poor in use so popular upgrades are either TT or Lupo GTI ones. We're generally a very friendly and helpful forum, try the search facility and ask if necessary. Ian.
  15. Obviously spoilt down here then on cable getting 60Mb+? Ian.
  16. Carried out a few more odd jobs last weekend and this, starting with draining and refilling the gearbox oil with Castrol fully synthetic - What came out looked quite old and dirty. The interior needed a bit of TLC so now have a working light in the glovebox and a sun visor that works too. One of the top centre dash vents was broken so that was replaced along with a damaged tweeter cover plus the HRW switch also lights up now when in use. Lastly I now have a very nice S/H chrome VR6 grille badge that finishes it off, thanks to everyone who supplied me parts. Ian.
  17. Which one Jake, the one on the way to Newent? Ian.

  19. Got a nice Flash Red one for sale down the M5 from you if interested? Ian.
  20. I have fitted 3 now using ones off E Bay for about £4.00 each, I "soften" them in hot water for 5/10 minutes and then fit them from above without dismantling anything - I use my wife's plastic salad knife out of the kitchen drawer to ease them in around the base of the roof as necessary. This is the pic of the last one I fitted (See Post *33) - http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?50830-1994-Flash-Red-VR6/page4 Ian.
  21. Sold, with have it off you for £15 next time I see you. Ian.
  22. When my VR6 was remapped the ECU was opened up,chip removed, and a new one soldered in. Ian.
