The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Billzeebub replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Cleaned the headlining with cheap supermarket brand upholstery cleaner. It didn't look too dirty before I started, but once I had cleaned a small section the difference was incredible...Now looks like new and smells fragrant. Also changed original spec rear-wiper for an Aero type arm/blade to match the front. -
Your car looks sensational in those photographs. Just the right amount of modification with the subtle wheels and exhaust, the rest pretty standard looking..great plate too
-
Good effort, I will be doing it the reverse way and heading out early daybreak today

Mine deleted too, wrote it several weeks ago

N plate black VR6 on Carshalton Road heading out of Sutton Town Centre today around 7pm. Saw you at the last minute and gave an instinctive wave type gesture and you did the same back as we passed!..nice standard looking car, haven' t seen it around there before
-
Looks really good. Glad to hear that you intend to preserve the original look. I think they look best as standard but slightly lowered

I bought my very first Rado from TCS. It was a 1owner 94 2.016v with 77k miles. I was very impressed with the car and bought it.. (around 2004) he was selling from his home address and had around 10 Corrados for sale. He was friendly enough, but I wasn't quite 100% happy with things once we met in person. Paying dealer prices but picking up from home address. Guess what I am trying to say is I bought purely on condition of this individual car despite other factors

First thing like somebody above has said is to make sure the mechanism and rails are well lubricated as friction will put strain on the mechanism and motor. Every time my car goes anywhere near a garage I get them to do this minor job and mine has always worked perfectly

I like to think I have a healthy attitude to my Corrado onership, driving my VR6 whenever I can and don't worry about using it in winter or where I leave it. I like to think that Im a fairly sympathetic owner, and keep on top of routine maintenance and only use approved parts, with servicing at the local VW Specialist. However, I don't spend every spare moment forensically going over my car and spending thousands on it. My 1996 car is in good condition, low mileage and everything on the car works (including the spoiler, sunroof, heater etc), it is fairly standard but has some paintwork imperfections and some minor rust. This will get sorted as and when, but I don't get hung up on it. I have AA mechanical breakdown cover, so if the worst happens I should be fairly unaffected.. Having said all this I keep my eye out for that elusive pristine car, then my attitude may change!..

black VR6, think the reg was N100M.....northbound on A217 near Burgh Heath around 6.45 pm today. Lady driving, standard looking car and lovely condition. Think I have seen the same car around Banstead High Street a few times.. ..I wasn't in the C , was driving Subaru Forrester so didn't try to acknowledge as may have seemed mad!..

looking very impressive now, wheels really suit it..just need to replace the grille with the OEM VW badged item?!.. -
Thanks for the replies chaps, think I may wait till payday and treat myself to some Anti-dazzle blueys from Germany..ludicrously expensive but will only do it once!..if one gets broken I will be straight to eBay/Halfords for the cheapies!..

Wondered if anyone knows a supplier of a good quality wing mirror glass? Ideally looking for a blue tint anti-dazzle type. So far drawn a blank with the usual suspects. VW Stealers discontinued (as are EuroCarParts), eBay only standard glass, Halfords the same- their car/code book on display stand says they can make them specially if a template is provided, but when I enquired they said they will no longer do it!..even the standard stick-over type is £24 for 2! Anyone been successful lately with a Wing Mirror Glass search?

Hi there mate,
I messages you a few days ago regarding the Indicator (drivers side front). Mine is cracked at the top and has water ingress which has discoloured it quite badly. If yours fits a 95 car and is in good condition ( ie clear and no discolouring/ cracks) could I pick it up from you tonight or tomorrow? I am in Surrey near M25/Sutton/ Banstead. It's a bit of a trek for me but if part is good condition it will be worth it. Could you let me know either message on here or by text preferably
Thanks a lot
Ben

Very nice looking C there, though it would look even better if parked against the backdrop in the Golf photo!.. ..VR6 badges?!.. -
for me Jossys Giants was his finest hour, I loved that programme!..

I have noticed that the rubber plug is missing from the drivers inner door, just below the lock mechanism. The corresponding rubber plug on the passenger side is present and so I know it should be there. Size is around 4 cm. If anyone can understand which part I mean and has a spare item knocking about I would be most appreciative if I could purchase it from you? Thanks in advance guys and girls

Still available..£80

If anybody takes it upon themselves to look into this again, then I would definitely like to get some 16 inch Speedlines at that price or similar.

I am looking for a Towbar for my Corrado as I want to tow a small dingy/RIB down to the coast on camping trips. Ideally would like a fitting whereby I don't have to cut the bumper. Also one that is easily detachable would be perfect. I acknowledge that most decent makes will require the bumper removing to attach. Anyone has one in good used condition that they no longer need then please get in touch, or if you can recommend a suitable make/model based on personal experience? Many thanks Ben

Your car looks sensational mate. I love the OEM look with the larger Speedlines. I have gotta get myself some of those. They just look so intrinsically right on the C.. ..think I may try and get the same wheels but in 16s
-
Thanks, but at that level I will keep it to go with a car at sale time. It is a great unit in as new condition- just I am an Alpine man!..£80 plus postage is a minimum, it will not go any lower. Thanks for your interest though
