  1. Great news, thanks for the heads up. I have a blue Revel 1/18 Corrado on the mantelpiece. Be great to get another same scale Corrado on the shelf. Not cheap, but they look quality
  2. That is simply my all-time favourite Corrado pic
  3. I have just got myself some Storm BBS Alloys for my Winter Tyres, they are in reasonable nick, but the centre caps have had it, scabby and mismatched. Two are BBS, two are VW!...wondered if anyone has some spares in good condition that they would sell me? I'm not fussy whethernVW or BBS badged, just so long as they fit the Storm wheel centres?!... Thanks for looking guys and girls
  4. I've seen that one before. He is Andy Wilman, who is now the writer of Top Gear I think, or maybe Director. He is one of Clarksons mates anyway.
  5. Perfect 2 car garage.. Love the Aqua Blue paint
  6. Do it, life's too short for boring fuel efficient cars. Having said that a well maintained VR6 is surprisingly frugal with a careful right foot. The problem is the loud pedal is too tempting at the first sign of an open road, just to hear the growl of that 6!
  7. I can't recall seeing a green Storm around the area ( other than the one I used to own). The one I have seen is the lighter green mate, that I'm not sure was available on a VR6, certainly not on the later cars. Haven't seen yours either. I always see a black Vr in and around Banstead, lady driver. I reckon she's had it from new, very standard. Reg plate is quite memorable, N100***
  8. Definitely no reason ( apart from slightly higher running costs) not to go for the M3, much as I love the Corrado the M3 is in a different league. I would say, however, that you may be getting a good deal on the Beemer but you will probably get a pretty low px figure built into that. I would try and sell privately and then get the M3. Lots of M3 s out there and there will be other good cars and good deals. Depends how blasé you are with your finances!.. The M3 will cost a fair bit more to service, but against that shouldn't need such regular fettling being a much newer vehicle
  9. Anyone on here live around the Woodmansterne area, near Carshalton Beeches in Surrey. I always see a green early 16v around there on my travels
  10. Yeah, unless you live somewhere incomprehensibley rough ( and quiet) there isn't much point bothering. If I had something rare like BMW M3 CSLs then I may think differently..but for Corrado standard Speedies etc I think it is such a minor risk as to be negligible.?. ..now watch this space for my wheels/tyres getting nicked!!..
  11. they look stunning, I wish I could afford to buy them at the momment
  12. what a combination. Your car looks stunning with the new BBS alloys fitted. The best looking Corrado I have seen in a long time. Really freshens it up whilst keeping the OEM look. Exactly how I would do it if I could justify the cash at the moment!..
  13. it is my impression that early cars had body colour rear badges, whereas later cars had the brushed aluminium type badges. Not sure what the switch over date would be, most likely when the significant model changes were made in 92/93? I am sure someone will be along in a minute to give you the exact details. I recently ordered a Corrado script badge from the local Stealer and it came in black primer. I had a rear end respray and so just did it in the body colour, with the VR6 left as original.
  14. I also have roofbars on my Corrado, the original factory ones. Vital for carrying my MTBs and surfboards, even a kayak..means when I get to where I am going I can take it all off and go for a hoon. Something not possible in my Forrester!.. Regarding bonnet bras, utterly hideous and don't really do the job most people use them for. If you're that worried about your bonnet then a paint protection film is a much better answer
  15. Can't offer any advice unfortunately mate, but welcome to ownership and the forum. Get yourself joined up with CCGB if you haven't already...that's some upgrade, Micra to Corrado VR6!..top work ---------- Post added at 8:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:06 PM ---------- Actually, whereabouts are you? There is a guy who a lot of people on here seem to recommend for auto electric and alarm issues. Trim Wizard, also people on PH talk about him and I think he does work for Wheeler Dealers too if I remember rightly. I would probably end up replacing the whole system!!..
  16. That is an excellent idea. I had a rear end respray on mine this year, wanted to keep the badges/original look and didn't get the holes filled. Now, it is just rust waiting to happen again. A stuck on badge is much better
  17. Sorry, to clarify on standard Speedies?. Are BBS Storms just the same for tyre fitment?. Think I'm gonna be fitting them to the Storm alloys?
  18. Which size did you go for, that sounds ideal mate
  19. I am going to buy Winter tyres this week. Would people advise 195 or 205 widths? I am on standard wheels, will be on the Storm BBS wheels most likely, or maybe the original Speedlines. I know my summer tyres are 205s, but isnt narrower going to be better in snow/ice? Any advice much appreciated. The 195s are obviously cheaper, inclined to go with these, any major reason why I shouldn't? Thanks in advance chaps
  20. The steering does feel heavy after getting out of most modern cars. I spent the day driving my Subaru Forester at the weekend (super light steering and high driving position). It felt easy and fine. That evening I went out to the pub in the Corrado and I thought something had broken because the steering suddenly felt mega heavy! As well as sitting down on the road! After 5 mins I realised it is the Forester that isn't 'right.' Great car but such light controls can feel a tad 'runaway train'..My Corrado PAS works and steering is much heavier than most modern cars?. Try getting your tracking/wheel alignment done
  21. Your car looks sensational in that photo, Aqua Blue.. I used to have one in that colour. Lovely wheels too
  22. I find my rear wiper quite useful! Deleted side strips though, it does look better, but now I am constantly worried about leaving it in carparks!..will probably be putting them back on..
  23. Very, very jealous. The fact you owned a nearly new Corrado in 1997..and also that you still own a nearly new Corrado in 2012!!..wish I had been able to do just that. Definitely want to see some photos of your motor and the progress
  24. I am also interested in one of these depending on final price, would be late spec in green, ideally with the blue/red central dial if poss?! Will follow with interest
