  1. ..well, stop bringing it up then. Suggest a mod cleans this thread up and removes the irrelevant posts? Could be quite a useful topic..
  2. Don't think you will like my suggestion then of keeping it (making it) standard spec and putting the spends into maintenance and restoration etc
  3. Good ones are still perfectly capable and reliable daily cars, as long as the maintenance schedule has been observed and things haven't been ignored because of lack of funds/mechanical sympathy. It's a good idea to have another vehicle to use too, I always run at least 2 cars, but it's not essential. I also, agree it is better for cars to be used regularly than left laid up unused for long periods. I have never had a breakdown with any of the 5 Corrados I have owned! I always buy the best car I can afford and prefer to put the funds in at purchase rather than a constant stream of expenditure chasing faults round a car!
  4. Looks good, stunning wheels. Welcome
  5. Replaced 5 year old Varta battery with a brand new Bosch heavy duty one, new Superbright headlight and sidelight bulbs, new Bosch Aero Wipers
  6. ..me too, though I may ease myself in with an easier target, a woman in a small french hatchback for starters. She may have lower aspirations..'do you come here often?'
  7. I have just got back from 3 days at relatives in Solihull in my Corrado, M25 was a carpark from M40 to A3! Couldn't have stayed till the 4th, though wish I had after that journey. Relatives know that Pub well and said how lovely it is. I will hopefully align a future visit to relatives with a meet near Solihull area. Be good to put a few faces to names and see a few cars together
  8. War Horse..not exactly my sort of film, but family time at Christmas you have to, don't you?! I slept through the first half and wished I hadn't woken up for the rest! Unless you bloody love horses (as in more than people!) its probs one to avoid! 3 out of 10
  9. Corrados I have previously owned.. I may have the odd letter wrong in reg on a couple though! M159LYF N585BUA M447BLE M200DAN, though this was on a non-original plate, plate now changed I believe, a Mystic Blue Storm My current car N866XSS
  10. Quite, I haven't laughed so much since Sunderlands quickly moderated 'ugly girl' musings!...OPs first8 posts must be the funniest 8 first posts ever. What makes it even funnier that he can't see why...#cryingwithlaughter, absoloutely classic
  11. brilliant!..today has been a day of chuckles and this thread has topped it off nicely..
  12. Welcome back to what is a pretty exclusive club these days. I keep coming back to the Corrado, no matter what else I own! I think the only coupe more appealing to me is the Porker 993..on my fifth C now! Your latest car sounds lovely, a keeper..
  13. Welcome, make sure you join the CCGB if you haven't already
  14. Somewhere nice and flat with refreshments/cakes close at hand is my usual stipulation!
  15. Excellent work with restoring the original gear lever and steering wheel, likewise the speakers that fit in original housings. I am a fan of keeping things original with very subtle improvements, seems like you are approaching things from a similar angle. What head unit are you using? I have recently installed an Alpine Bluetooth job by that has selectable illumination with 4 colours, one of which is green. It was difficult finding a suitable stereo with green illumination. I have been very impressed with it
  16. Merry Christmas everybody, Happy Hooning
  17. Going to try and attend all these events, work commitments allowing of course. He for some better weather next summer. Particularly like the sound of the Dutch trip and the 25th Anniversary meet sounds like a memorable day out
  18. 993Porkers are my dream car, I have been saving for a few years for a good one!..I think Corrados have a similar design/engineering ethos..however, like others have said the 993is in a different league as a driving tool. As long as you have the funds for to get a good in and the ongoing commensurate maintenance funds then you have to go for a 993. You only live once and it's one of the most characterful and evocative machines ever made.. ..I am very jealous!..
  19. I am going to endeavour to be more proactive in 2013, attend some events and make a contribution to Sprinter. Was wondering if there was any chance of getting some more of the old Sprinters up on the CCGB site? I think it's important to keep the latest edition in paper, hard copy format, but it would be excellent to get some back issues up on there. I can only see 4 up on there currently... Not being very techy I am unsure as to how viable this would be to do on a larger scale? Easy or difficult? Or can I purchase back issues still, and who from if so?
  20. Sensational bargain, the alloy wheel change transforms it..
  21. I am another more than happy to see the membership fee increased back to the £15 level. A small price to pay to avoid the Club descending to the level of some others, or disappearing altogether. Just factoring in the potential discounts on Insurance and Parts makes it mor than worth it for me, then Club stands and the excellent Sprinter etc.. ..may be an idea to send out some Flyers/Leaflets to Club Members with the Sprinter to place on Corrado that we come across on our daily rounds? Even if it just provides one new member per year?!
