  1. I wouldn't worry about the re-sale. Grey leather wouldn't really put me off a car at all. Though it might do some. I've got grey interior that someone has swapped out the door cards and seats for black leather. I would have preferred all grey leather so it all matched. but didn't phase me at all when it came to the purchase. The rest of the car was far more important.
  2. Green L reg vr in highgate today around 5.30, was in strada with the mrs as it drove past, pointed it out to her excitedly through the window and think the driver may have seen. My valver was parked round the corner.

    Random plug

faster you go the louder the stereo gets :) Hmmm... interesting, wonder how i could wire it up. Guess i need a stereo that uses one or some kind of variable resistor setup.

    Random plug

What exactly is this speed sensor wire i've heard so much about?
  5. Fuse in the back of the head unit?
  6. Abs mate, vw domo is right really. Rule No 1. is to run your rca's and power lines on opposite sides of the car, do you not get engine noise through your stereo at low volume? Or have you got some bad ass insulated rca's?
  7. Sorry, just checking. Does sound like a dodgy earth then. I think my head unit is earthed to a point just above the fuse box but I can't be sure. I have lots of dodgy alarm wiring there!
  8. Sadly I foresaw this. Ou can get some seriously powerful led's these days. Though I expect most companies will go for the 3 led cluster rather than the led strip.
  9. I've been tempted to get some cheapo stick on ones from fleebay just to see what they would look like. (Glad im not the only one who considered them!) Lower leading edge would be the only place to put them imo.
  10. Make sure your RCA cables are on the opposite side of the car to your power cable
  11. I did think about it, then i thought it may look gash and i'll ruin some perfectly good and expensive lights!
  12. talking of stickers, anyone know if there are any C forum ones left knocking about?
  13. Rim touching the brake caliper?
  14. Anyone own my valver before? J611TTM Has had 2 different private plates before, 10 owners and came from scotland.
  15. What grinds my gears is that i hate young, asian, black bmw driving drug dealers. Scum, the lot of 'em! But i was mistakenly led to believe that all police were trained professionals that have been given the honourable duty of protecting the best interests of the public. A serious duty not to be abused. Much like a barrister, or civil engineer or doctor. Now if a doctor were found to be lying or mistreating a patient because of their age or race in court, there would be serious consequences. But officer nob has nothing to worry about. Even taking this to a less serious level, i am a landscape architect who deals with building contractors daily. Now if i were to practice my profession based on stereotypes i would breathalyse every contractor daily, and fire most of them because i believe 'all contractors drink on the job' (sorry any contractors, i dont actually believe this at all!!) And i would be a s*it Landscape Architect. But i don't, i act in a professional manner as all 'professionals' should. Its the fact that police officers are given such an important responsibility, which many it seems (and im not saying all) abuse that drives me mad. If you have no passion or respect for your profession......... find another! Apologies to all young, black bmw driving asians who are not drug dealers, all contractors who do not drink on the job and all police officers who always act in a professional manner (and i know there are a very many of you). I do not mean to offend you. I do not believe in absolute stereotypes nor should any of you. Rant over!
  16. Had a very similar experience, was pulled late at night in a black (all oem) bmw. Apparently i was driving recklessly. I wasn't speeding. Wasn't drunk. I passed the officers car that was parked in a side road after coming off a roundabout. I'm a young asian male (pulling the race card here as you can guess why they pulled a young asian male driving a black bmw......... drug dealer) They searched the car, found nothing. Decided to try and charge me with reckless driving anyway. I appealed, went to court, one officer said i was verbally abusive and uncooperative. Other officer said i was well mannered. I showed an aerial photo of the road in court, explained that the police car could have only been behind me for approx 10meters, 5 of which were on a roundabout. The nob officer said i swerved when coming off the roundabout, the aerial photo shows road markings that lead the driver to swing out when exiting the roundabout. Courts Verdict: NOT GUILTY My Verdict: One serious racist, ageist, stereotyping nob of an officer. Wasted my time and the courts. Deserves to be stripped of this badge.
  17. Yeah, it cost me a fortune to get there from Norwich but its worth it. The only other decent place i know of doing 16v remaps is stealth, and they're in pretty much the same area and cost £250. And i cant say they'll take as much care as D&G who are rado enthusiasts.
  18. I can do nothing but applaud you guys. After some initial problems with my injectors (i needed new ones) my car was setup for fuel/air mixture, timing and co2 output. It was then taken for a spin to see how things were standing. Then an emulator was plugged in instead of an ecu and D&G's map was loaded up. The car was taken for another spin and the map was tweaked for my car (i have a ported head, tb, manifolds, and abf cams). The result: Initially i can't say i noticed that much of a difference but after almost a week of ragging the cr*p out of her i've noticed smoother acceleration, faster acceleration between 30 - 60mph, a definite kick in of power below 3000 revs compared to the kick at over 4000, and she now revs cleanly up to 7000 revs. She gives a few more mpg's around town but a few less higher up the rev range but i guess this is spent on the extra power and depends on the control of my right foot! They also sorted my dodgy exhaust hanger. Top marks for expert and friendly service.

    engine change

You could also give it a cheeky skim to make sure its flat and gain a little compression. Always a bonus unless you're boosting it.

    engine change

It is really, i'm not mechanically qualified and managed it. Well i put an abf head on a 9a and my dad is a mechanic so i could have always asked him for help if i got stuck. Just take photo's and if you have extra holes just plug a sensor in and don't wire it up to anything. (im sure someone will tell me im wrong now)

    and if its a 9a, it's a 2.0l
