  1. summer tyres.... winter tyres....??? I know they make a difference but i have 9j wheels with goodyear eagle f1's (an all weather/summer i think??) and i drove through the worst of londons mess last weekend with no problems at all. I took it gently, didnt bumper hug, didnt speed, didnt pull out on anyone, stuck to the clearer lane, blah blah blah but sorry, i feel i must say this in caps..... WHEN I LOST TRACTION AND WHEN I WAS MOVING OFF I STUCK IT IN A HIGHER GEAR!!!!!!) apologies guys as i'm sure you're all more than adequate drivers but i was delayed on the sat drive to norwich by 4hrs...... not because the snow made it un passable but because some t**t in his merc was sat in the middle lane of the m11 flailing from left to right trying to get some grip because his simple mind dictated to him that if the car couldn't get grip, what he needed to do was give it some more welly! People were afraid to pass and so the 4hr tailback began! I actually (finally) got past the hold up, parked up in the hard sholder, walked into the middle lane, waved my hands in the air to get him to stop and then told him to stick it in f*****g 2nd and take it easy..... and off everyone went on their merry way. Words cannot describe. :bad-words: :censored: :bad-words: :censored: On the plus side i passed many brand spanking new BMW's on the side of the road in my 18yr old VW and it all cleared up by Cambridge way. :D :D :D
  2. Didn't receive one...... :( Although every garage i've ever been to has been glad to see the back of the C. (including the old mans!) Merry Christmas boys!
  3. If you mean inlet then yes, no issues, a 50mm inlet will bolt straight on. I have one for sale for £25 + p&p. If you mean exhaust, then a mk2 mani will fit but it will be very close to your gearbox cables. I have one fitted and have made sure I've wrapped the manifold properly and have even wrapped the gearbox cables. DG Autotech have made a small bracket in the past for someone on this forum to hold the cables up in the tunnel and make sure they are not resting on the Mani.
  4. Bazzmcc, I may have a spare, used but perfectly good tb gasket lying around you can have for free, let me know and I'll have a look for it. As for the overlap, not sure it's a problem as the duel kr exhaust cam mod has been done several times before, even by guys on this forum. I'd be using a kr exhaust and abf exhaust, 220 & 226 so depending on lsa would in theory be less overlap than 2x kr exhaust cams.
  5. Starting to wish i was still up int'field.
  6. Tell me more of this cup holder........ i need one!
  7. Legend mate! I've ordered one, Name: Kunaal Parmar Cheers
  8. I'm running abf cams and Dave at DG Autotech said he was able to advance my timing more than Jakes (swompy on this forum) but.... and here's the big BUT, i have a ported abf head. Still haven't dyno'd it yet though! I am considering using a KR exhaust cam and an ABF exhaust cam chopped to fit as an inlet cam to see how that does but i haven't had the time and i dont know whether i'll run into any problems as my ecu has been remapped by DG.
  9. The 50mm inlet is known to add only a few extra horses at the very top end but rob you of a fair amount of torque down low

    dumb question

stick the bushes in the fridge and the end of the cross member in the oven!
  11. Mine squeak at the moment but i think thats maybe because they're new? Or they could have forgotten to put the vibration plate back in behind them.
  12. Yeah, continuation of the other ebc thread..... I've come to find my ebc greens have slightly better 'bite' than standard pads but do stop quite well indeed when i stand on the pedal. I'm just praying mine dont fall apart like your previous few kev!
  13. Did the same to mine not long ago, the difference was good but i just had standard standard dicks and pads put on. The 'incredible' difference you're feeling may be the choice of disks and pads. Aren't yellowstuff for track use? What are they like for stopping at low speeds?
  14. Best tyres on the back are recommended as the back end will generally slide out first when cornering. More grip at the back means you can push it harder round a corner before the rear will slip and it will recover faster. Well, thats what i've been told and the logic seems sound to me. I think i've just repeated the above??
  15. I believe kr manifolds and 9a manifolds are one and the same.
  16. I had brand new standard pagid pads on recently, bought from ecp. When i went to get the car re-mapped at DG, Dave said the pads were rubbish when hot and advised me to get redstuff's, i'm a tight git and bought greenstuff's but they seem loads better than the standard pagids hot or cold. More 'bite' and less dust on my dishes!
  17. Dont say that! i've just fitted some greens!!! If you still have 256mm brakes i've got some greenstuff pads for sale going cheap cheap! They were sent to me in error. They also fit 280mm calipers but the friction material is a few mm thinner, so i guess they will last a bit less time. Kunaal
  18. I'd check alarm gubbins, as mine is time delayed etc only due to it being hooked up to the alarm.
  19. Good news, do you have 2 lambdas sticking out now?
  20. Drive down from norwich to london early this morning was fun. Borbet 9j's do not make for good winter wheels, no matter what rubber in stretched over them! It wasn't as bad as i'd thought, having to move off in 3rd and a few moment of praying for traction was all i really encountered. Though i haven't had a look at my 90mm splitter yet, there were some large chunks of snow along the A11 and i had to use it to plough the road when i first left this morning.
