  1. Yup, happened to me a while ago but freakishly (no where near my house) a mate was driving past, slammed the brakes on and gave me lift to the station. Result!
  2. Sounds like timing or possibly dodgy injectors, can cause a plethora of undiagnosable problems!
  3. Figured out where the extra cost goes...... the plastic bolt caps. doh!Guess i can just use my old ones.
  4. Complete CV joints are fairly cheap and not too hard to do so shouldn't cost too much.

    rear end noise

Bearings are cheap, its just getting them in and out of the hub that's the hard part!
  6. I have the same problem. I'm pretty sure its the CV joints though, but im changing wishbones and bushes too just in case.
  7. Just knock the long snorkel out forwards with a hammer. Anyone happen to know what diameter cold air feed i need to make a snug fit into the snorkel's former hole? Or am i best off cutting a new one as per image above? Was thinking of running the cold air feed to somewhere near ground level but then realised that if i go through a large puddle.....
  8. I haven't had any proble.....no wait....forget that
  9. My bad, its £30.19 + vat, which when added to the £71.26 inc vat still comes to less than the quoted £107.51 + vat?? Best to give 'em a call for an up to date price. Also, i'm unsure of what brand the blades are, but at that price i'd imagine bosch.
  10. I believe they do, they're about £30.19 + delivery. Which if you add to the wiper arms separately come to £101.45. Less than the £107.51 quoted for buying together. Go figure?
  11. OK, from Veedubmachine - £71.26 + £4.45 delivery for 2x driver side MK1 TT wiper arms. They sell them with modified TT blades for £107.51 + delivery but i wanted to experiment with different blades which i get for free at the old mans garage. :D They also sell the lupo gti arms and blades for £93.40 + delivery. I'm sure if you ring they'd also sell the arms seperately. They are genuine arms too. Not sure how they can sell them for that price but they do! Hope this helps out someone else for the next few wet months!
  12. No, im pretty sure the lambda is connected to a plug found near the rear engine mount, but I'm pretty sure the plug you are speaking of puts the ecu into basic settings mode when unplugged, I.e. Ignores all feedback signals and so doesn't richen/lean mixture.
  13. Have you tried changing the lambda? Afik, unplugging that plug makes it run open loop like the 1.8 k-jet, so I think your problem is feedback loop related.
  14. Anyone know what the score is with the 928S blades? I gather they give the largest wipe area with no modifications but im a bit simple and need it spelt out rather than: 'I've just fitted a Bosch 928S aerotwin set of blades, they need to fitted driver's on passenger side etc, and they fit thus.......' Does that mean i need 2x drivers as per the tt blades? Sorry if im asking a stupid question.
  15. Can anyone tell me which blades are the best fit if i have the tt wiper arm setup? I have managed to find 2x mk1 tt aero twin wiper arms only for sub £80 delivered, or around the £110 mark with the tt blades. Couldn't get a response from Pat McCrotch so don't know how much he can supply them for. Will let you know how i get on with them and let you know supplier if they turn out ok. Could ask about a gb for an even lower price if anyone else is interested? Mind you, i've already bought and paid for mine! Kunaal
  16. Good choice! (i am biased though)
  17. Really is one of the best colours........ apart from midnight/moonlight blue :D
  18. Sweet, i need some new pants.
  19. I'll eat my hat, pants, shirt and tie!
  20. Oh and where did you find magnecor's for less than £1million?
  21. Still keep meaning to write up a throttle body porting guide. Here's hoping this is inspiration!
  22. Where did you get those leads from? They look nice and think.
