Charity rolling road day in norwich
pumbaa replied to Rob_B's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Yeah, I might be heading back there for another power run when I get the fuelling sorted. I got back ok thanks, I just picked the richest rev range on the map and tried to stick to that all the way home. The worrying thing is I've been driving as per usual since the re-map. Here's hoping it's the metering head or fuel pump and it's only happened recently! -

No probs buddy. Glad to meet a few new forum members. Just a shame the C was under fuelling and I still haven't had a proper power run since carrying out the engine work almost a year ago! Will be giving DG a buzz today. -

Ok, well put me down for the rollers. I need to go to Thetford and back in the morning so i should be there for about lunchtime. If its at Clive Atthowe's, the address is: Unit 7 175 Salhouse Road, Norwich, NR7 9AQ. Hope to see you there! -

I should be able to make an appearance as i'll be in Norwich, and about time i got the C rr'd -
Yep, i own a mongrel. Late exterior with early interior. Though im thinking i prefer the early bonnet and grill so may do a little swap and make my C even more mis-matched!

It just helps to keep a steady idle when the car is cold, not sure if it does anything when warm. I ran mine without it for a month or so and didn't even notice!

16v running issues not wanting to rev or drive!

The backfire makes me think fuelling or timing? -
Methinks i might be sticking a full size in the boot then! Although i have a humped carpet and a spasesaver? Maybe the previous owner changed the full size for the dinky wheel?? It looks like it could possibly squeeze a slightly bigger wheel under it.

I'm running ABF's but i still haven't RR'd it. I expect less than you though as i dont have high compression pistons.
-
Christ, i never thought of that! If i blow a front i have to swap it with a rear and put the crappy space saver on the back.

Agree with the above, sounds like a relay.

Bloody Coilovers are knackered !!!!! Anyone refurbed Konigsports before?

Same as above, Venom got them for me. Took them about a week to arrive though. Mine was stuck on the ramp too, was my dads garage... needless to say he was not impressed! You could try wire brushing them, lots of penetrating spray and heating them to try to move them in the meantime. -
Red rado K245ceh spotted in enfield town today 7.45pm. Not sure what flavour, on aftermarket alloys, looked very tidy. A couple inside, they were parking up and I was across the road waiting for a lift, I didn't go over for fear I would look like some wierdo!

Absolute bargain mate. Mine's a 2.0l J reg.
-
I'd put money on it being the timing then.
-
Replace the cold start injector. I think they might be quite expensive new though. I should have a working 2nd hand one lying about somewhere if you need. ---------- Post added at 01:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:49 PM ---------- As above, the backfire could be due to timing but if its fine when the plug is disconnected my guess is its majorly over fuelling due to the stuck injector

Why did the little girl fall off the swing? She had no arms. Have you seen Stevie Wonders wife? No, neither has he. Why does Stevie Wonder sway when he plays the piano? He's trying to find the mike.

Some folks will have 2 switches rather than a potentiometer. So it knows when its on idle and when its at full throttle. Worth bearing in mind if you can't seem to find it! And they are interchangable and it makes no difference which one you have.

I run a 10" with a custom box cut to the angle of the back seat. I used to run a 12" but they just take up too much space. I've even considered 2 x 8", in a custom triangular wedge to run across the back edge of the boot.

The girling 60 (not from a g60 car, confusing i know) is a twin piston setup. I Believe the audi 5 cylinder used them.

There is a thread on 280mm rear brakes somewhere on here, can't help you with the front im afraid i've gone up to 280mm which is the largest i can get in 4 stud to fit under my rims.

Interesting, as Vpower is costing me 141.9 at the local, i'll have to investigate my nearest tesco's.

I thought BP ultimate was 98 RON and Shell Vpower was 99 RON? BP did do a 102 RON not too long ago but it was discontinued. http://www.bp.com/sectiongenericarticle.do?categoryId=6621&contentId=7060376
