Hi mate, If the grill is an early type with all clips intact would you do it for £10 posted? Cheers, Kunaal

Not sure you can run the parrot and amp output to the speakers together. Surely when the amp is running and not the parrot the amp will be feeding a current to the output of the parrot's amp, and vice verca? Would this not blow the stand alone amp or the parrots amp?

More valver love coming from this direction!
-
^^^ Those aren't OEM!!!
-
Centre tunnel! Doh! That would have been so much easier than running them down either side of the car! Im an idiot!
-
You would imagine if the parrot was hooked up to the stereo directly it would just work with the pre-outs too. Once there is no current drawn from the normal high output speaker wires the internal amp should switch off by itself.

In addition to rickdonald's response, i'd get amber led's and resistors. Dead cheap from ebay. Using green tinted bulbs gives a dull glow and not always amber.

Yep, the limiter has been raised so it revs cleanly to the red line and the fuelling has been adjusted so it doesn't lean out t the top. I think it was originally limited to 6500 or 6800. I do have a kind of flat spot at very low revs but no more than what was there with the 9a cams. I thought that was the 16v character. (or I need a new / stronger clutch) but I do remember my old mk2 feeling like that. It may be all in my head but I'm sure she pulls away harder sometimes more than others. I may have to investigate. I've been meaning to get power run done for almost a year now but I never seem to get the time. I'll be sure to post up results when I finally do!

@ davidwort. Here's hoping you're wrong, as i've spent a lot of time, effort and money using abf cams and a re-map! (mainly the re-map) Which will always play on my mind if the KR cams produce better results! Yours is a 2.0l audi 6a block with KR everything else right? @ boostmonkey - spot the engineer! Side question - If you're using cad 2011, does it crash every time you close a drawing? Its seriously getting on my tits! Im actually considering going back to '98 or even '94!

Hi Zak, Do you have any 3 relay setups left? If so, i've got some OEM connectors arriving soon, if i send them to you can you attach them to the loom? Thanks, Kunaal

Got some brand new greenstuff front pads for £25 posted or i should have some barely used pagid front pads for £15 if they're any good to you?

Interesting reading. I'm running abf cams but i have a 2.0l, its been remapped but i dont remember feeling any loss of bottom end torque before. probably minimal anyway. The abf cams do have a higher lift and duration with the exception of the exhaust cam which has a shorter duration. I've never heard of anyone putting kr cams into an abf engine, surely it would only result in a loss? davidwort - would you still recommend kr cams in a 2.0l?

does anyone have a corrado that doesnt break?

Depends on the individual, the cost of insuring a VR against a 16v for me was about £50 p.a. I went for a valver as i know the engine very well from my Mk2 days, know how to squeeze more power out of it, enjoy the nimble cornering it offers over the VR and love ringing its neck. The VR will also cost more in tax and petrol, even with my tuned and mapped valver i can get 38mpg on a motorway. The VR will always have more torque unfortunately but i haven't had any get away from me just yet. I stayed away from the G60 as i didn't want the hassle of re-building the charger, but they are certainly not one to rule out. With a few tweeks they can produce some serious power. In saying that, i've finished most of the engine work and i now am starting to think about a turbo...... but i guess i'd do that with whichever flavour i started with! Methinks that whatever you buy however will feel slower than an ABF'd Mk1! - That must have been lightning - corners and straights! Oh and the valver has NEVER EVER left me stranded. Period. And i often clock up some serious miles. I drive to Norwich and back every weekend and she's never missed a beat i wouldn't even hesitate about doing a non-stop round trip from London to Scotland. I do look after her but nothing special, just the usual. One thing i will say is that there are more plastic parts that are prone to perishing in the VR............. time for a VR owner to chime in -
Thanks buddy, Standard parcels is either £4 or £8 depending on weight, i wasn't sure which bracket they'd come in. Will get them in the post as soon as i get a chance.
-
Ok, no response from retrocorrado so they are all yours eugopnosaj (jason pogue i take it?). I was charging him £18 inc royal mail standard parcels postage on the basis of if postage was less than the £7.50 something i guessed at i would refund the difference. If that's ok, paypal gift it to: [email protected] and i will try to get them out this weekend, if not Monday. Thanks, Kunaal

Still waiting on payment and a postal address from retrocorrado......... all packed up and ready to go since monday. If he doesn't respond by friday they are yours eugopnosaj. I could only find 16, though im sure i have another 16 somewhere!

The missus and the GF in the car together.... you're living dangerously mate! :)
-
Just to let you know all the bits arrived safely. Thanks, Kunaal
-
Sorry buddy, my spare one is a passenger side :(
-
I may have one mate, I'll have a look and get back to you.
-
The tappets don't actually attach to the vales or anything. So im 99% confident they are the same, as i said ill have a look though.
-
Pretty sure they're the same, once the valves/collets/springs are in place a 9A and an ABF are identical from above. I thought the only difference was the number of ridges on the valves/collets, sodium filled valves and the diameter of the exhaust valves. Im also pretty sure i've used KR tappets in my abf head and vice verca, will have a look though.
-
No probs, i'll have a look and see how many i have and let you guys know. I may even have some abf ones which are apparently lighter.
