do a forum search for "google map". Forum members have been showing where they are based and plotting some basic info, forum name etc.

Yeah I have that effect on the ladies  Good or bad I'm not sure  :norty:

woo hoo! The excitment in my car was very high. Ive trained my mrs to spot corrados and early golfs, and she squealed when you went past :)

I can't bring myself to sell my Golf2 16v - it's just mad revs and white knuckle rides, compared to the VR's wafty power and waaarp exhaust note. Keep the valver and buy a VR as well. Sell the kids if necessary.

Excuse the late interest in this hilarious advert, but I though it was worth a bump. Thumbs up to the Corrado.net SEO munchkins for being top of the Google list when I keyed in: Mcdonalds advert corrado PS: they're known as McSatan's for a reason

where's the "like" button on here? -
i forgot to mention there are two screws in the top corners of the clocks, but have a go and shout if you get stuck :)

That's the correct tyre size for a VR6 Yes, lighting should be green, with the top three being white iirc. I'd start by buying a second hand set of clocks as a complete unit from ebay, for fault diagnosis if nothing else. Swapping them over is easy once you've done it a few times. Here's a taster of how to: - You only need to remove the front 4 screws (two vertical ones at top of the clock bezel and 2 behind pop-off covers at bottom corners of bezel). - You don't need to undo the two fine screws on the actual clock unit itself as these hold the plastic cover on. Take it apart on a table if you wish. - With a bit of wiggling it will rock forward and lift out. don't forget to disconnect the single multicore cable at the back left. It shouldn't drop down out of sight in my experience. - You don't need to take the dash apart, but do need to be a bit creative and firmish when tugging the unit out diagonally. there is a sweet spot when it will come out without damage, I promise. dropping the steering wheel right down helps... - Don't drop the screws down into the dash!!! If you do, they'll rattle you to insanity. If you lose any completely, most breakers have plenty as they are common Mk2 and Mk3 interior / dash screws... - Make sure you line up the metal flat nut widgets correctly when fitting it all back together again. you'll know the bits i mean when you take the front bezel off. Good luck!! It's easy once you've done it 15 or so times

Cheers, hopefully my skinny girlf and standard ride should = no scrapes!!

Thats the first thing i thought of! argh, can't get the banana hammock out of my head!

They must be VR clocks as other cars have different connectors, unless someone has taken the cluster apart to mix and match (not sure if this is even possible). I've had clocks and guages under and over reading, and the way i resolved it was to buy a second hand set and take pot luck on ebay. mine over read about 6mph at about 70-80, which I'm ok with. They over read by about 4mph at 30-40mph, so I know that the needle needs to be just under 35 and I won't get shot by the radar gun... as you have done, just use your sat nav to mentally recalibrate it ;)

Thanks for the advice - I'll make sure they get a good clean and waxoyl next time im down there!

I'd like to know if anyone else believes this is the case. I have been lead to believe that: "First-aid kit is advised, but not compulsory. Replacement bulb set recommended." Cheers!

Apparently: "Visibility Vests are now compulsory in Belgium. They are also compulsory in Austria, France, Italy, Norway, Portugal and Spain (and likely to become compulsory throughout the EU). The rules vary from country to country concerning number of vests required and whether they should be carried in the car or boot. Common sense suggests that there should be a vest for every occupant, and that the vests should be carried in the car, and put on before getting out. Do this and you will not have a problem."

Hi Folks, As I have a week between jobs next week, the girlfriend and I are going to take a ferry to France and nip up to Brugge for a few days. It's not going to be a long drive (only 74miles from Calais to Brugge) but I want to take the Corrado and have my first attempt at driving in Europe. I've been reading up on this site, to confirm speed limits, general advice and what is compulsory to take and do: http://driving.drive-alive.co.uk/driving-in-belgium.htm (there are other pages for France too). The compulsory kit appears to be: (BE = Belgium, FR = France) Hi Vis jacket (BE & FR) Warning Triangle (BE & FR) still need to buy... Headlamp Convertors (BE & FR) GB Sticker or Euro GB plates (BE & FR) Fire Extingusher (BE only) The recommended additional kit appears to be: First Aid Kit Spare Bulb Kit Euro coins for tolls (FR, BE is toll free) I have already done the following: Got Euro Breakdown cover with my Insurance Co (Adrian Flux) Informed my Insurance Co of my plans, dates and countries being visited I will also take the following with me: Driving Licenses (both parts) V5 to prove ownership Motor Insurance Policy (in lieu of Green Card, which I am told no longer gets issued in UK) plus of course my Passport and EHIC (new type of E111) ...and the Mrs, and some spare kegs. Does anyone have any good advice? :dorky: I'm hoping to have a big company car by next summer and want to drive over to some music festivals, plus maybe head down to Le Mans in the C next spring. Chris PS: I have driven about half a mile in Gibraltar, but that's it!

i fitted febi ones from avs. They are fine for normal applications and ive had a number of people in the trade recommend febi. Feel free to wait 18months for my long term test results but i suspect they will be fine :)
-
the ones i bought were listed as kia picanto, so probably yes. I did not adjust the gaps before fitting to my vr6.

Black VR6 L*** MVV (i think) spotted on queens drive in Nottingham at around 6pm this evening. I flashed and honked, and then happened to do a U turn and ended up following you around the Embankment! Red C with badgless grill heading north on the A46 towards Newark, while I was heading south to Leicester at around 6:20pm this evening.

This sort of "recommended consumables" info merits a place on the knowledge base / wiki, if you ask me. I'm sure there are tons of VRs running aroung with nasty expensive plugs and gobbling up synta. Lets see if the wiki thread gets a bit of support: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=96976 Its' definately on my "oh you're a new corrado owner! did you know..." spiel.

Very tempting! How many do you need to buy in, to make it worth while? For the sake of £20 I'd keep a couple of sets of 6 in the cupboard. Guestimate on postage?
