  1. eh....'probably a load of old green man shaking dice whilst staring at ceiling.....
  2. Ah, the old motoring press 'new Corrado' chesnut...at least it's nice that this keeps getting resurrected in the motoring press as something being possibly resurrected as a new great car with the all round ability of the good ol' C.
  3. ....and a couple of new top spring plates, about £12 each and very prone to corrosion and disintegration! I'd also recommend new bottom strut bolts and nuts, and a couple of new circlips that fit around a groove in the shock strut which the top spring mount plates locate in, probably corroded to bits!. It's a pretty easy job and quite satisfying, but worth changing the parts mentioned above while your'e there, or at least having them to hand, as theyr'e bound to be shagged!
  4. I would be very interested in a demo on the flatter upper surfaces, such as bonnet and roof, and also ideally both sides to compare reflecting properties. Would also like to see how the often dirt attractive back end lustres up. Naturally the front and rear bumpers would also be good to check there is no reaction to the paint plasticisers here. A demo on the wheel set would be good too, as of course just one clean wheel wouldn't look right......oh, and do you do any interior products  ...... :D ........sorry, couldn't resist it! 8)
  5. I would say avoid the Avon ZV1's personally, in the wet, dry, 'looks like it might rain later', in fact all situations. Did they have a price for Continental Sportcontacts?, now theyr'e niiiiiiiice! .....but pricey. I'm gonna need two soon, so I can finally get those damn Avons off my car for all time.
  6. Same thing happened to me a while ago , same corner of car, same damage, also by an Audi company car. Only difference was I was in C at the time.... :( When the dust had settled driver looks at my C and says 'nice car', all I could think to say was 'yeah, it used to be'....... Hope you get better soon.
  7. Hello BeavisJem, apologies for the late reply , been in the Maldives :D Returned up the M11 today, niiiiice! Dereham Road is quite feasible for me to be around, as is most of Norwich, just going for a drive for no reason other than it's a Corrado! Mine is a dark green / grey C, was indeed an H reg, but now KVW 200N for over a year. If I'd seen another C I would have flashed though......see you around I hope, braving those round-abouts
  8. KARMANN, First thing I did when got my early 16v was fit the weight you refer to, does feel better on gearchanges now. VW should be able to identify the parts you need from their ETKA, it is listed / illustrated there. If you want PM me (as a reminder), and I'll send you a digi pic of the item fitted in about a weeks time, and look up the part no. if no one else has sorted you out by then. Would do it now but just about to go out the door.... Mark
  9. First I heard about Corrado's was as a schoolboy, when I saw it in a feature on VW's new sports car in, ahem, Mayfair Magazine! (Only bought it for the articles, honest, don't tell me mum!) Knew I had to have one when I was old enough. After a sucession of crap first cars (Morris Marina anyone?!) finally saw the light and got a lovely Mars Red Golf. That hooked me on VW's, and the next step was a hankering for a Corrado. Saw a lovely looking 1991 16v in Autotrader, fairly near me , in Cambridge. Got straight on the phone and went to see it, and bought it in Nov 98 for £5,850 (he wanted £6,000). Guy didn't really want to sell it, but had to as he used it for business and needed to turn up in something newer, so was buying a new Audi. Have had it ever since, so am the second owner from new. not bad for a 14 year old car! Still love it to bits, although may be after a VR for the future, but still keeping the 16v. :D

    Rear brake piston

If it's mega stuck due to plain old age, and won't budge using needle nose pliers etc, Syke Pickavant do a good tool for the job, about £20 quid from Halfords though, but very good for getting the darn things moving. As you probably know by now G clamps etc won't work, as you need to turn and push at same time! Worth buying the tool if you plan to do the rears again in th future. You could have borrowed mine, but you aint exactly local  On the plus side, at least being outside on the car keeps you away from those bl##dy annoying M & S food adverts that have just come out, annoying the hell out of me!
  11. Coming to Norwich eh! Don't know if it's your first run up here, but can I just recommend going via M11/A11 rather than A12 /A140 etc. They look about same on map distance wise, but M11 / A11 route will be far quicker, even if you have to go past the A12 junction on the M25 to get to the M11 one! It's a much faster road. Going via A12 /A140 will frustrate the hell out of you if driving a C! Oh, and watch out for the crap driving in Norfolk!
  12. Yep, Estorils are nice, I'd like a set. They look nicely over-engineered in a typically German quality way.
  13. Whaaaat, don't tell me there's a Radiographers Having Sex Whilst Operating the Eqpt. Forum !!!!! (I'm guessing here, not seen the pics!)
  14. Oh, go on then, here she is getting ready for Inters.....honest¬
  15. Typical, I should know better by now! Same for the rubber boots on the end of the handbrake cables, or the small plastic clip bonded to the front windows, why let people buy the tiny cheap part they need when you can rip them off for the next higher and far more expensive bit! There must be a business opportunity for someone over things like this :!:
  16. Apologies if youv'e already considered this, buuuut, do VW have just the sealing base avl., instead of replacing the whole thing? Not that i've ever taken an aerial off, but you never know, just occasionally VW come up trumps!
  17. Fokker 50 and 100 primarily, not crew, but give office based technical support to operator, used to be 'hands on' eng. , but got tired of being out in the cold and wet all the time
  18. I was on the verge of asking if you were a 146 flier from your login name! Sorry, very off topic, but 146 not a bad a/c apart from the flap system and two engines too many for it's size. I deal primarily with supporting Fokkers these days! Who are you with, Cityjet?
  19. Holy crap...no wonder they can afford a swish professional web-site!

    16 valve issues

Could try looking here mate, my pipe was push fitted with no clip, after taking the cams off etc and re-fitting it all, and my engine barely ran as a result. Ran so badly I thought i'd done something terminal to the engine whilst refitting cams etc. :( Refitted pipe with a clip, and totally sorted it...worth a look. By the way it didn't sound like it was leaking at all from there before i put the clip on, 16v seems very sensitive to air leaks!

    Few MOD questions?

Fletcher, Many thanks for your kind communications :D , I was agreeing with you, however I inadvertently said 'hear hear', instead of 'here here'. Thank you for rapidly bringing this to my notice via PM as well! I have amended my original post to clarify for all. LESS SHOUTING would be good. Peace!
  22. ATP....Another Tech. Problem'..... :D Previously HS-748 I beleive. Didn't know all those were at Brooklands, all the time I lived at Hersham never went there!
