I'm not arguing, your opinions are as valid as anyones :) I had a short ride in Mr Lobitos 4mo engined VR on Koni height adjustables and 17s, it rode better than my standard Vr on 15s or so it seemed at the time. I lift share with someone with a 60 plate focus ST with bilsteins on 18s, it doesn't crash and bang anything like my MK4 on H and R kit on 16s on the same roads.

I fitted a weitec kit to my MK3 Golf TDi estate, non height or damping adjustable and with 15 inch Michelins they were a bit soggy TBH, I fitted Toyos and the car rode well for a daily and gripped well too. A front spring broke after 3 years use.

I've got a set of weitecs with stainless bodies boxed in the garage, they've had decent reviews here in the past

Not to **** on your chips re the sale, but is it really worth the possible expense of engine damage repairing those cams?
-
And some 1/2 drive sockets or pieces of pipe, big washers etc? I think they recommend white grease for polybush lube?
-
Loads of VAG stuff has relay 109 (MK4 based for example), you can also remove the cover and resolder any dry joints inside
-
If youre fiddling with the car unplugging sensors etc then you'll create ghost codes by doing it. Clear codes and retry starting the car to get the true codes

I've just swapped from Admiral multicar (as they dont cover vans themselves) to Brentacre as I've changed dailys to a LWB T5, the corrado is also insured for commuting and 5K per anum, both for less than £600

Spark Fuel Compression Timing If you have the above the engine should run, whats missing when its not starting? Is the non start when the engine is cold / hot / both?
-
If its off an OBD2 golf the throttle body wont fit. Google the part number for the answer The Golf inlet manifold is higher torque at lower revs, the Corrado is lower torque but higher power at higher revs.

Improvise, a tyre inflator with the airbed nozzle fitted, gaffer taped to a length of dowel if needed.

I bumped it as mods may be able to read the pre editted thread?

Use masking tape on all edges of panels that may touch when removing and refitting painted panels

Can the sunroof drains be cleared by blowing through them with an air line? Or use something like the outer brake cable off a push bike and push the accumulated debris through?

The pic and method is stolen from another place, the idea is not mine and I take no credit for it. I think its more likely HG failure, but that is a method to diy test the heat exchanger (its proper name) and discount it from any ongoing issue
-
Testing the cooler Remove the cooler, block one of the coolant ports and fit air attachment to the other port (the pic shows both fitted with bicycle tyre valves), dunk the cooler into a bucket of water and use a tyre inflator to check for leaks.

I can only find this type, I suspect you wont have room for this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OIL-GAUGE-FITTING-T-PIECE-3xM10-1-FIT-VW-AUDI-SEAT-SKODA-/131242911832?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e8eafe858
