I keep looking at the front bumper, splitter, fogs, indicators, headlamps, grill, badges etc and seeing £1K Then just replace them with the sh!tters I've got In the garage loft that no one wants.......... and I still have the car :/
-
I think he wants a postal MOT in exchange for pics and videos..........................
-
A mate had one, had it written off by a drunk driver and got a good pay out, much better than what he was being offered for it as a part exchange against a turbo Leon, he doesn't want another Clio :)

Price up a cam belt change on a 182. Power on tap is always nice to have, rush hour at a large and busy roundabout or overtaking on a country road for example. Ask a mechanic if they'd own a French car - most wouldn't unless its a gift Most modern cars also have failings which present the owners with large bills and all the time they're depreciating heavily too. Trying to sell non diesel car at the moment is a nightmare, I'm breaking my 5th car in 5 years (Mk3 golf tdi estate - rotten but very proffitable, Golf V5 estate, Seat Toledo V5, Octavia 1.8T L&K and now an Audi 80 V6 cab) because no one wants them
-
Should this be a sticky?

If you search for AGZ or AQN engines on ebay you should find something local, V5 stuff sells very poorly, so stuff is cheap. You'll need 100mm drive flanges to suit (MK4 are 108mm standard)

Its still listed on ebay, I don't want to get involved with pallets and couriers though, sorry

http://www.carlicious-parts.com/epages/62028049.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62028049/Categories/%22V5%20Tuning%22 I have a 4mo BDE head and an AQN V5 head sat on shelves in the garage, I've weighed the V5 block in this morning, selling V5 engine parts is like selling nuclear waste.........................

Any rusty arches / sills / around the screen?

Posted parcelforce 48 (cheapest signed for!), 2.135KG was £12.92. Barcode via PM ;)
-
Will pm papal stuff in the morning and post tomorrow afternoon.
-
It weighs over 2KGs without packaging, so that's around £10 with royal mail, so £25 all in?

Look at your sig, you're a repeat offender, you wont benefit unless you go cold turkey. If the prices of the cars go up in value surely the prices of parts will follow and if less get broken the more sought after rare parts prices will soar? The best part of owning an older car is that there's no depreciation, offset that against higher running costs and we're onto a winner?
-
Its caked in grease and crud, its just taken half a can of brake cleaner to uncover that part number. I bought the gearbox off a local lad and I'm using 02J shifter and tower from a MK4 so I've never used this gearbox or shift tower. The car was an early MK3 Golf gti 8V with the oblong side repeaters on the wing (M plate and older)
-
Who will benefit from prices of these cars increasing? Only people who want to cash in and sell up (and buy a Hyundai?). Who will be disadvantaged by price increases? Grass roots enthusiasts priced out of the game by the well heeled who wont necessarily have the same passion. As for those who have no intention of selling up either way, what do they benefit from an increased paper value?
-
I've got an 02a tower from an early MK3 16V gearbox

Ebay searching suggests VR6 / 4mo / R32 / V5s all have the same pump / pick up? If anyone can confirm this and Sean can make use of a 20V V5 AQN pump I'm sure I have one somewhere................

Its good practice to undo in the opposite way you tighten them (usually a circular diagonal motion from the centre out when tightening, outside working in when removing the cams). The chance of any damage being done is tiny unless the cams have been used to lift the head off the block?
