DG Autotech - Laser Cut 312mm Brake Caliper fitting kit.
Leonard replied to CrazyDave's topic in Suppliers Forum
Would you do something similar for the 288mm conversion? -
So was it really better handling than a Mini Cooper, Fiesta Zetec S, or a Seat Ibiza Sport?
-
Yeah kinda my point I think. The engines just dont stack up to the cost of the car. The 1.2 is sh@t and the 1.4 is woefully inadequate in a 14k + car. The Gti is probably gonna be £19k!
-
Fair enough comment. But the Fiesta is a quality piece of kit nowadays and is 3k cheaper for a similar engine and spec. Plus I bet you can negotiate a better deal from Ford. You could buy a very nice VR for that change
-
Mum would love one of these but for a decent size engine ie 1.4 and a few needed extras you are looking at circa £14500! As quality as it is that seems like a lot of money for a 'small' motor....

Nice field nearby....
-
LOL Errrr nothing. There is a petrol station nearby! You could ask VERY nicely and get them to drop you off in Banbury. You can at least go to the cinema or something then  Or take your bike and go on a nice road ride. Plenty of nice little lanes to pootle down and as mentioned plenty of nice country pubs to chow down in Matt

I was thinking about the speed of cars only yesterday and thought it was an interesting topic. I mean cars have come A LONG way in the past 15 years speed wise. And why? You dont have to have a fast car to have a fun car. And how fast is too fast? Modern cars are silly quick. My mate has just bought a Golf Gti with Revo 2 map and it has 270bhp and 285lbft. Stunningly fast in all gears from 2000rpm on. But I dont find it an enjoyable car to drive. However he is already getting used to the power and is thinking about the stage 3 at 350bhp...... All in a 5 door family hatchback! So no matter what power you have, you do get used to it after a while and you end up wanting more and more... Where does it stop :cuckoo: Only reason I feel the need to have more power is for overtaking safely and that is only because there are too many silly fast run of the mill cars out on the roads, driven by inconsiderate tossers who dont really know how to drive. So when I win the euro millions and buy my own small country there will be a 6 month long driving test with all advanced driving skills covered. Plus you will be given an MX5 by the state and no other cars will be allowed. You can have any colour as long as its red and if the suns shining the hood must come down to boost social behaviour amongst motorists. Talking only, NO hand gestures.. See you on Leonard island circa 2012 for some left foot braking, heel and toeing, drifty rwd fun and frolics on the commute to work. All within the national speed limit of 90mph of course

Car was looking great the other day Tom. Really weird seeing what looked like my car from a couple of years ago, without it actually being my car LOL  If you want to get rid of that old 90mm splitter then you know where I am :norty:  Keep up the good work as always Matt
-
No way mate didnt actually think you would ever do it! Glad it is going to someone you know though. Sure it will all end well in the end
-
Are front and rears still available from the stealers?
-
Agreed. Dont give yourself the hassle or the poor ride/handling with the others.
-
Be a nice day though!
-
Really don't take much notice of rolling roads  Too many variables for it ever to be spot on. What you need to do is take your engine out and stick it on a Dyno   I think you can generally just feel if your engine is running right or not. You can feel if it is down on power or if there are any flat spots etc Matt
-
You obviously werent looking to closely at my motor at the weekend Ian  As already said well worth it.
-
PMSL
-
Love it. Looks suitably moody 8)
-
Looks like yours may be lowered a bit as well, is it? So should look even better on your motor! :D
-
I was in an old saab couple of weeks ago and the interior was so odd for example all the grab handles either were in the 'wrong' place or pulled in the 'wrong' direction but it was strangely cool I thought, along with its three spokes  I know my mate alwasy used to have them, quite cool arent they. I am actually quite tempted myself as an every day car. Easily tuned up to 230bhp and the handling isnt to shabby either :norty:
-
