We must all be getting old eh! Jay -
I will see what I can do about destroying a LBJ over the break. I am convinced it will come apart and long drop replacement bearing and shaft could be fitted. Jay

I will try not to get too techy, put simply I want to retain the handling that makes the Corrado so well renowned but improve on the looks at the same time... :) That wasn't a bad car was it ;) It makes me very proud to think in building it I got people into corrado ownership :) Jay -

Thanks for the kind words :). Don't get me wrong, I am not interested in total originality and never using any exact part that wasn't originally fitted from factory. I think when I built my previous C I wanted a more modern car and turned my C into that fitting everything from the MK4 and TT that i could. If I am honest I don't think I could build another to the standard of the previous one as time and money simply don't allow it any more with family, house etc.. So rather than try and do a modern bit here and a modern bit there I am accepting and enjoying the car as a fantastic car in "standard" form. I think those of us that have been around the block for so long on these things realise that VW actually do a pretty good job and only some minor mods are necessary to adapt the car to your personal preference. I am not fussed about value and am entirely doing the car for me. As mentioned somewhere in this thread my focus this time with the car is chassis dynamics and handling after my visit to the Porsche centre at Silverstone. Sorry for waffling :) Jay -
Yeah, second hand LOL Anyone? Jay

Yeah reversible mods is the way to go on these. OEM+ all the way. Parts are definitely not as easy to get as last time round. When I have been going to the stealers I was actually shocked to hear them say "we can't get that any more, sorry.". I have just switched my insurance over and it was only £50 extra until July, but god knows what it will be then... Jay -

Cheers Ash, glad to hear the 4mo is still going well. Long way to go on the Corrado and it will be a steady approach, but hopefully I will end up with the diamond :) Will be interesting to see your take an a corrado. Jay -

I have rejoined the CCGB and will come along to this. Fingers crossed the car will be something like respectable by May.... -
Yeah I would love to get a brand new one mate, but with baby 2 about to arrive I can't sneak £300 past the missus ;) Jay

After trying to remove the lambda probe last night and having a general look over my exhaust I have decided I want to replace it with a nice stainless system. So what have you got to Sell. Miltek, Magnex, Jetex, Supersprint etc..? Cheers Jay

I am the opposite, I hate the bloody VW Clips and love high quality stainless jubilee clips... Jay

Right. After a lot of trial and error and a lot of grazed knuckles I have finally decided on the shore hardness and exact sizes of the poly inserts. Unlike the BFI ones mentioned earlier in the thread, I have gone for a couple of size differences between the upper and lower mount parts and also a different hardness for the upper and lower part. This I believe results in the best possible combination of OEM feel on idle, gentle driving etc, but more control when you put your foot down! :) I have placed the order this morning for the whole batch of poly and they have promised me delivery no later than the 13th of Jan. Apologies for the delays, but I though it was worth the extra couple of weeks to get them right. They may come to me earlier so I will keep you all posted. Jay

Think I have found myself a powder coaters and the bloke is a total petrol head so I am looking forward to getting the suspension done. Are OEM struts and springs, gloss or Satin black? -

Very interested in this following some late braking by people following me over the last week of driving a corrado again. Jay -
Looks like a mesh box and if you open the bonnet and look under the plastic tray up in the scuttle area you will find it. It may be piled up with leaves which can also cause the water to overflow into the heater box giving the symptoms you describe. Don't have any pics to hand but someone will post one.
