  1. Patience Paul, you will see them on the car eventually :) Stainless rims being heavy is a load of balls. These exact wheels are used on the Nuremburg ring lap record Porsches....so if they are good enough for them :) Jay
  2. Glad you like it Steve. It tooks us 4 days solid to do it. Had to take 2 days off work so I could get it done. (only have one car) Bit of an update. Spent this evening putting my wheels back together after splitting them to replace the outer rims with stainless so they will last as daily. Started with a load of bits.... Then a couple of hours later.... 9.5x18" on the rear 8.5x18" on the front. Jay
  3. nah mate, too busy with getting things sorted for ultimate dubs. Jay
  4. Cheers. Wanted it to look completely "un modified" if that makes sense. Jay
  5. The wheels are not as "out there" as the Vette rims. Just some very phat 18" Porsche Splits. Jay
  6. I think the angles are all a bit odd. Was struggling to get a pic. Will take some in the daylight tomorrow. Jay
  7. I love this. No one quite knows what to say it looks like. So far we have Micra, Passat, Audi, Bora :) Jay
  8. Thats what I wanted. People at work are like "what have you actually done?" the perfect response in my eyes :) Jay
  9. Exactly, the flushed tailgate looks so dated. So I figured I would do the opposite :) Will look better with the wheels on :) Jay
  10. OK. So I have finally started doing things on the MK4 4motion. Since Thursday this is what I have been up to with my talented welding and painting mate Gary. Basically there is one thing I don't like and never have about the MK4 and that is the rear end. I never liked the handle, the badge, the numberplate in the bumper etc..etc... So....... I decided to change it and weld a Bora numberplate recess into the tailgate, smooth the bumper and extend the two rubbing strips to join in the middle. First off I plastic welded the bumper up to lose the numberplate recess... I also flushed out things like the towing eye recess, just to clean things up a bit. Next came the welding work. We cut out a Bora numberplate recess, being careful not to distort the panel. This (cutting a very long story short) was welded into the MK4 tailgate, using proper welding principles, joggle tools and careful alignment to basically require almost no filler. A coat of primer and a bit more rubbing down it was ready for paint, along with the bumper, rubbing strip and rear valance. The results are very factory, complete with number plate lights etc.. Will get some daylight pics soon. Also I its not yet lowered and has 16" steels on at the mo :) I know I need a blanking plug for the rear wiper :) Thoughts? Jay
  11. Cheers. I was well chuffed with that. Especially as it was a genuine daily :) Jay
  12. Will have some tonight for you.... the major work is done and all I can say is CHUFFED :) Jay
  13. Love it, love it, love it. Remember you mentioning this in the pub at Squires last year. Good to see it has progressed so much :) Jay
  14. There was something amazing about it in the flesh. It just ooozed quality. I agree there are better looking cars, but until you see one just parked up like that you don't get the full effect. Jay
  15. Funniest thing was it had a copied CD in the centre console. So even people who can afford an £800000 car, rip CD's. Or maybe get them ripped by someone :) :) Jay
  16. Following on from the "spotted a Murceilago" thread. I have finally managed to get the pics off my phone of the Buggatti Veyron I saw parked in Knutsford high street while my missus was looking at wedding dresses :) Made my day. I got a few photos. Here is the first. Jay
  17. Well I was out for a walk with the missus in Knutsford (Cheshire) a couple of weeks back and what was parked on double yellows on the high street........a Cream and black bugatti Veyron. Reg was BUL 5. No idea who's it was, but I got a load of phone photos. The funniest thing was he/she had a ripped CD in the centre console :) If anyone knows how to get the email function to work on a Samsung E900 let me know so I can post them up. Jay
  18. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Quite a bit is going to be happening to the car in the next couple of weeks. Will obviously keep you all posted, but it will all start on Thursday.... Jay
