  1. I will mate. You can have a look at the 4mo and see where everything is supposed to go. :)
  2. Cheers guys. I will keep the updates coming. Paul - I don't think he actually did mate, not a mark on it. The front end will be getting paint anyway! :) Jay
  3. get her to do a PHD, worked for me :) Coxy. Will definately come up at some point. :) Jay
  4. Little update The first step was made yesterday towards building the new project into the car I want . I visited my mate (CAV off the ED38 forum) for a day of detailing on the car. Now the paint on the car was OK, but had 6 years worth of scratches and grime on it. So CAV set about giving the paint a full once over with the Porter Cable and various cutting compounds, glazes, clays and waxes. Poor bloke was knackered at the end of the day. The results speak for themselves!!! AWESOME. The car now has a shine like my Corrado had when it was freshly painted and I am blown away by the colour! If you fancy getting your car detailed properly I can't recommend CAV enough. Top bloke and top top job. A massive thanks to CAV for all his hard work and I can now get the bits I will be modifying to match this finish and I am now seriously looking forward to getting the wheels on....... Jay
  5. Shame. Watched this one from afar and wish I had the spare cash to take it off you and stick it on the 4mo. :( Jay
  6. No worries mate, glad they fitted OK. Looks sweet as mate, proper deep bolsters too, nice. Bet your chuffed.
  7. This is exactly why I fitted EVERYTHING from the MK4. All the switches, sensors, loom etc.. as its ridiculous how interlinked all the stuff is on the later cars. I had a similar thing originally when I was fault finding on the car, but once everything was done it was gone. Sorry I don't know which thing got rid of it :) You had a Vag-com scan done? I will have a drive tomorrow if you want. Jay
  8. Well I have sort of started on a couple of the body mods, but I want to keep those quiet for now. Will be going on the Rollers at stealth on Sunday, just to make sure its running OK. So will update with the figures I get then :) I will have something more significant eventually I promise. Jay
  9. How sad am I!!! I have just sat and read through all 88 pages of this thread. I must have been mental doing what I did. Still was good to read it all back and remember the excitement. Better get on with the MK4 or I will be wanting to buy the Rado back again :) Jay
  10. Nice. Looking forward to the completed pics. Jay
  11. Having actually done it I can say one thing. If you have to think about whether you can afford a 911, don't get one. You need to have enough disposable income for any costs not to be a problem and really it needs to be a second car. Example set of HT leads £275. Exhaust Backbox £450. Accelerometer £1250. and so it goes on.... Nice to look at, fun to drive, but only if its a toy. The older 911's like 964 (which is what I had) are out done in most ways by modern cars. It was no quicker than my Rado and a lot less comfy and hence is not a good daily. I will have a GT3 one day though :) Jay
  12. Cheers lads. The Golf will probably follow a similar process to the Rado, although maybe not as extreme. :) I am going to concentrate on getting the outside how I want it first, then the interior, then the engine, but that will be over a good couple of years. Obviously I will keep you all posted as I go along :) Jay
  13. At the end of the day billet aluminium adaptors are wayyyyyy stronger than cast aluminium so if your wheels stay on your adaptors definately will :) Jay
  14. Yep. Do you have all the yaw rate sensors, accelerometers etc.. mounted in the car? Jay
  15. LOL. Yeah I am sold on proper Haldex. Syncro stuff is not a patch on it, but Haldex is definately worth it. Superlite wheels is the place to get outer rims from mate. Jay
  16. Well, just so you all know something is happening... I have been collecting parts over the last few weeks. Nothing has actually happened to the car yet (apart from a set of new HT leads) and driving it a lot. :) But I have a collection of nice shiny bits to start putting into place soon. Currently in the spare room at home are... The wheels, not saying what they are until they are all together, but I have new stainless outers for the rears. The suspension - FK Silverline X Konisports, new top mounts, drop links etc.. The adaptors for the wheels.... In the garage is..... Two different rear bumpers and a couple of other body parts. and in my head..... are a lot of ideas :) Jay
