  1. Looking like good progress mate, hope you have that heater on. :) Will have to pop over again soon by the looks of things. Jay
  2. Check your plugs and leads are all still OK. Spark plugs can just "give up" or even come loose. Unfortunately it could be all sorts of reasons, but at least narrow it down to one cylinder first.... Jay
  3. If you are going to sew it yourself you need a pukka leather sewing machine. Anything else and it will bunch up and not be man enough. Doug did all his on a big ass industrial leather sewing machine. Jay
  4. You just have to copy me don't ya Stan :) Jay
  5. LOL, classic. Ben you did say you got it from Dover..... Has there been another ship wreck with VW bits instead of BMW? :) Jay
  6. Most likely to be the MAF or the coilpack. These are common problems when its damp on the 4mo. Jay
  7. Nice one Stan. Now see how different it is having a 24v in a car which can put it down to the tarmac :) Jay
  8. Will be very very interested to see your results from this Karl. The kit looks good to be honest. Oh and I would go for biscuit with your colour. Jay
  9. Yeah I will be down in a couple of weeks John, so if you do find out I am sure we could "lend a hand". Jay
  10. How narrow could his number plate recess be made :) Jay
  11. Good to see you today mate, progress looks good. Just keep the updates coming for everone :) Jay
  12. Porsche Amethyst is better though :) LOL Jay
  13. Yeah, tyre pressures make a huge difference. I always ran 32 up front and 28/29 in the rear. Any higher at the back and it was awful. Jay
  14. Well my Rado was about as low as you could practically go and was running very stretched tyres on 17's. It drove superbly over the bumps (as anyone who has been in it will testify, PhatVR6/Coxy etc..) and never "crashed". I replaced everything with poly bushes excluding top mounts and rear beam bushes where I just used OE stuff. I too had Weitecs on my MK1 once, hard as nails and I actually blew them to pieces eventually. I had Koni's and then FK's (with Koni dampers) on the Rado and cannot fault them. As John rightly said, crashiness is only caused by either worn suspension components or badly matched springs and dampers. It is possible to get a good firm, but damped ride, just be patient. Jay
  15. What I do not get is people going on about "losing all the driving enjoyment of the Corrado" etc...etc.. and then in the same sentence saying get a 1L Diesel Estate car for a daily...........erm where is the driving enjoyment in that exactly? Fair enough you could enjoy the rado on a weekend hack or whatever, but why not drive something nice everyday and get 700% more enjoyment out of it..... Jay
  16. Sell it. You can always get another one. But get a MK4 V6, otherwise you will miss it. Sorry guys but the best thing I did was buy the MK4. Can't comment on the "normal" MK4's but the 4motion is awesome in many ways. Will give another perspective on it when the wheels/suspension etc.. are done. The only thing I miss from the Rado is the uniqueness, otherwise the MK4 is better in every way. Jay
  17. Looking good mate. Will have a look at the next Sherburn meet. One thing I don't get with air ride. How do you know what height you are at and consequently the tracking must be all over the shop? Unless you go back to exactly the same position every time you drive, the tracking will be off from where it was set..... Jay
  18. Keep it up Paul. Got your text late, so didn't reply, but I would have stuck with the OZ's anyway. Jay
  19. 18/19. I have a sixth sense for them after 10 years of fast dubs :) Also I recognise the Bournemouth Tripod ones, especially the one on the wessex way, know it well. Jay
  20. Just spotted this thread and thanks for all the nice comments guys. My car is just up for nomination as car of the year, but because it was in the January edition of PVW is listed first. Feel free to Email PVW with a vote though. LOL :) I sold the car for £11K, which in my eyes was the right money at the time. Jay
  21. Bummer. Nice to get new bits painted though :) Been there and done it ;) Jay
  22. Not yet :) Might drag horrocks up with me too over xmas. Jay
  23. LOL What money? Why do you think nothing is being done to it yet :) No not a BOLF, not a big fan of that to be honest. Jay
