  1. James, long time no speak mate! Hope you are well. Best VR you could have bought IMHO. It has pursuaded me to get another rado and I am currently on the train heading south to collect my new project Corrado having sold the mk4. Loving the touches you have done and look forward to seeing it in the flesh sometime. Asim, hope you are well to mate, we need to chat. Jay
  2. OK. I have been quietly watching this thread after someone pointed me in the direction of it and I have to say how dissapointed I am. This forum was always a great place for me to discuss my love for Corrados and the mods/conversions I did to mine and other peoples cars. I built the Corrado for me. Yes I took it to shows for people to see what I had done as I was proud of it, but I drove it every single day too and from work and used it as a car. It was not built as a "show car" it just got recognition at a show when I finished it and I was asked to have a mag feature done on it. Kev - I have to say I am the most dissapointed with your responses as I have always been impressed with what you have done/had done to your car and you always talked to me on a level at meets etc.. Why you seem to be sighting me as some sort of glory hunter or something I do not understand, as anyone who knows me will know I am not like that. Vik is a freind of mine as I was pleased when he bought the car as I know it will be well looked after and used as it should be. What he does with it is up to him, if he wants to show it, rally it, track it whatever I don't mind as long as its being used for what it is. A car! Jay
  3. If the ABS is throwing faults it will not influence the running as it basically switches off completely. The most likely thing is something to do with clutch/brake/throttle pedal switches/function. Is the clutch one operated at the right time by the pedal etc? Jay
  4. Cheers all. I did like the spilts as a wheel in their own right, but for me they just didn't "work" on the car, too delicate and fussy for a big old MK4 :) I got them from the US and they were not that expensive, but the adaptors/tyres/centre caps etc.. add up :( They are 8x19 and will tuck in OK, I will probably have to roll the front arches, but only as I want them out in the arch. Jay
  5. Yes they are Jim. I was struggling to find 19" OEM wheels that looked right, but I am chuffed with them now :)
  6. Well after thinking of selling then deciding it was a stupid idea and figuring I needed a new look I have some new rims... I am getting adaptors made up, but will not have them for a couple of weeks, so did a quick trial of the wheels. Only had it resting on jacks and put the wheels roughly where I think they will sit. Will have to see. I am pleased, looks more OEM which I like.... Shame the car is soooo filthy! :) Jay
  7. He has probably changed his mind about the colour 4 times when they were half way through doing it ;) Jay
  8. Looking V tidy mate. Lose the lock in the bootlid and thats the perfect rear end :) Jay
  9. I used both from memory. Originally a 24v pump with 24v pulley (pump died) and I fitted the 24v pulley onto a second hand 12v pump. Worked fine. jay
  10. :( :( :( Sad news mate, but onwards and upwards. Get your payout, make some decent cash selling all the bits and and buy another nice Rado. Jay
  11. Could well be one of your injectors if the replacement of the fuel regulator pipe started the problems.... Whip out each of the plugs, if one is all wet with fuel then thats your problem, the injector is not misting problem. Jay
  12. Now this is a cool project. Awesome work mate. Look forward to seeing it up at Dub Pres :) Jay
  13. Nice lookin bits Ben. Sorry I missed your call the other day, I was driving. Jay
  14. Don't worry Stan, you will get there in the end :) Jay
  15. Cheers Mike, yours too mate, love the new look in the Sig pic!! jay
  16. I am well chuffed with it, its come out exactly as I wanted. Glad people appreciate it in one way or another. Cheers :) This is not the best pic but shows the whole rear end "look" a bit better. http://images22.fotki.com/v724/photos/1 ... 316-vi.jpg
  17. Just got sent some pics of my car at Ultimate Dubs, so figured I would update the thread with what I did over the last few days.. Front is basically untouched, apart from the obvious wheels. :) Added Lupo subby mirrors and delocked the handles. Wheels are on and the original 4mo wheels were sold at the show, so no going back now!!! :) And obviously the rear....... Jay
  18. I know I am a true dubber, owned nothing but VW's since I was 16. Bought a porsche 911, had it for 2 months and sold it to buy another VW. :) Says it all really... Jay
  19. Stan. Got the wheels originally for £400, but the new stainless outer don't come cheap! :) Yeah I think you are right Lee. You can have them for a few quid if you want :) I had a feeling you might like them Ben :) Jay
  20. Cheers. I must admit I am well chuffed with them. Bit of paint work done on the inner barrel by http://www.wheelrefurbishing.co.uk and they are like new. Pain to assemble, took me ages to do up all the bolts!! Jay
  21. Not quite as cheap, but not far off :) Gutted about your car mate :( Jay
  22. Glad you think so Bally :) Loving the avatar pic of your Rado. Jay
