  1. You are quite right Jim. I have said so many times, the car would never ever have left the factory with squeaks, rattles or knocks. So if you have some, something is loose, missing, worn out or broken. You work through all of those and you end up with a solid tight quiet car. Things like stiffer suspension and bigger wheels don't cause these issues they just highlight what's there... Jay
  2. Well, WOW!! What a difference adjusting the boot has made. It's like someone has welded the boot shut and fitted a strut brace! The drive to work this morning was a joy, no squeaks or rattles from the back end at all. So chuffed! The centre console also made a big difference to driving the car, no more clicks and creaks when you put the hand brake on, I am starting to love this car more and more. Jay
  3. LOL. Yeah I have a bit of an obsession with stuff lining up as it should :) I had my first Corrado in 2001 so we are knocking on 11 years now! Jay
  4. Nice one, I think almost every persons car I have ever done something on the dash in over the years those nuts are loose or missing! Jay
  5. LOL cheers Ollie, glad its getting you motivated. Funnily enough I have not had much time on the car recently due to work and kids :). But the wife was out tonight and the kids were both sound asleep so I just spent a couple of hours in the late sunshine tinkering with the car. Fitted Daves excellent centre console bracket, but was amazed to see all four tabs on the plastic centre console undertray were all still intact. On a similar note I seemed to still be getting a bit of rattling and knocking from the back end of the car. I was standing admiring the back end as you do, when I noticed the rear inner lights did not line up perfectly with the outer ones. I pushed down on the bootlid a bit and there was more movement there than I thought there should be. So by loosening off the boot catch in the rear panel and moving it down a few mm the boot is now pulled down tight and the lights line up perfectly. I am now really looking forward to the drive to work tomorrow to see how much difference these little tweaks make when I drive it.... Jay
  6. Kev is quite right, these are only for normal shocks and springs, not "coilovers" Jay
  7. Not mine but I used to own J265 OPK so nearly! LOL
  8. Oh nice move! I have promised myself I will own a DB9 before I am 40. Jay
  9. Evening all. After some mix ups and general confusion on my part I have 5 sets of a 10mm lowering spring plates for sale. These are FK ones and are a straight swap for any 90mm top front spring plates from VR6 Corrados. As you can see in the pics, these simply move the position of spring mounting 10mm higher than the standard plates. Thus lowering the car 10mm without affecting anything else. I will do a pair for £17.50 delivered. cheers Jay
  10. Got a little parcel from the postman today. Finally got new ones :) Jay
  11. Glad to see a little more "accepting" Porsche club. I remember when I had my 911 I went to the PCGB National Day and was not really impressed with how they seemed to view each others cars. All I heard all day was, "well those aren't original wheels" or "thats a 1978 indicator on a 1977 wing" etc..etc.. Not once did I hear "wow that looks lovely". Jay
  12. Now that takes me back. Always been a fan of these wheels, so much so I had them on the C twice LOL. Looking good Matt Jay
  13. Good post, so many "expert" garages don't know this info. Jay
  14. This is my dilemma mate. Am I just keeping it stock (ish) for the sake of it.. I don't think a set of sportsters detracts too much?
  15. Now I know for some this is worthy of shooting for even suggesting the idea, but I am toying with the thought of selling my Recaros (factory electric, heated, black leather). Now the reason quite simply is I really like the seats, but I prefer Recaro sportster CS's and I could sell my Recaros for probably about the same money as a set. I drive my car to work and back every day (60 mile round trip) and also go and have a bit of fun in it now and then.... I am aiming to make it a bit more track bias soon and as such think the Sportsters, particularly in half leather are more suited, especially as they are much lighter than the factory Recaros. So given the choice what would people do? Jay
  16. Kev - the previous group buy I did the lower rear mount was 70 shore and I think in hindsight a touch too hard, which is why i said to people if they want no extra cabin vibration to use the OEM lower rear, with all the rest poly. I am now running all poly mounts with a 60 shore poly lower rear which is the same hardness as the upper ones and a 70 shore lower front to hold things a bit tighter and it genuinely feels no different to the OE ones in terms of vibration. Believe me I have swapped and changed them so often I know exactly what the changes feel like. Carl you are added :) Kev, let me know but if you are genuinely not happy you can have a refund ;) Jay
