  1. If i were to say, maybe install an R32..... and bought a DTA setup, is this a map which can simply be flashed across? Jay
  2. Not necessarily. The rear bias valve might be taking enough pressure off that the rears are allowed to spring return enough to release. The front however still gets full pressure and wont return. The original post stated he has replaced the calipers and the hoses on the front. Have you tried disconnecting the ABS at all as it could be a stuck solenoid in there? Jay
  3. Yeah i put the foam in. My clip popped in very tight, so we will see. I did add a tie wrap to the wire too just to make sure LOL. Will see tomorrow what I find on the rear 1/4 Jay
  4. It won't be the servo itself, it will be the master cylinder jamming and not relieving the pressure. This is a spring return piston and if it is sticking it will retain the pressure in the system. Jay
  5. Rattle source No. 3 Tonight I decided to investigate a bit of a rattle coming from the back of the headlining. On lowering of the headlining I found the clip which holds the aerial lead was not clipped into the hole and the lead was obviously free to rattle around. It's now all clipped in and secure and the rattle is gone. I also found another little rattle at the top of the rear 1/4 interior trim, which i will investigate next. I am pretty sure it's a loose loom. Jay
  6. There is a big earth to the steering column on the mk4 make sure that it connected properly. Jay
  7. Nah offered him £12 LOL He came back with £15 which I accepted. Jay
  8. I just bought one of these as I am not convinced mine is working properly. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-VW-16V-2-0-ACE-VR6-THROTTLE-WOT-SWITCH-SENSOR-/170846546835?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item27c73f6b93 £15 and its the right part. Jay
  9. Not sure who sorts this out, but I am a contributor to the forum (not showing on my avatar) and I keep getting told my mail box is still at capacity, despite contributing, Can anyone help please :) Jay
  10. Ah ha cheers Kev, probably why I have never seen them before, my old C didn't have ABS when it was a G60 and when it went 24v I installed the whole MK4 Golf ABS system along with the MK4 loom which of course didn't include those relays. Jay
  11. Forgot to mention, there were actually three factory fit relays and two fuses up above the heater fan duct, which I am convinced are for the seats in some way.... Jay
  12. Sorted!! Drive to work this morning proved that was the cause of the "clack", was purposely finding lumps and bumps on the road to test it LOL. Think I might try the fixed bolt through the column mod tonight as I noticed while driving over all the bumps there was a bit too much movement in the wheel for my liking. We continue.... :)
  13. To be honest once I have maybe two more people I will order them, so I would guess a couple of weeks or so. Worth waiting for. Jay
  14. I am running a group buy on poly engine mounts front and rear for £64. Makes a huge difference to the movement. Jay
  15. Technically twice now! And your right it has not stopped me getting back into a C. :). Doug will get back into it in time, he is just in the sleep deprevation phase at the moment :) Jay
  16. Funny you should say that Kip. I did a bit of looking this evening and found a couple of potential causes. The alarm box was indeed mounted above the glove box and actually the install was quite tidy, however the way the alarm box was mounted meant it could "clap" against the underside of the scuttle tray. So I have now secured it properly which will eliminate that as a possible cause. While poking around I also found the fan itself had a lot of float and would clunk up and down. So I removed the lower clip and replaced the bottom washer with a new one which significantly reduced the end float and again eliminates that as a potential cause. So the proof will be in the pudding on the way to work tomorrow morning... Jay
  17. Bear in mind this is a totally original car, no aftermarket alarms or stereo gear here LOL. Although it was a dealer fit alarm, so that is a possibility....
  18. Hmmm. I will pull the passenger side undertray off tonight and have a look see of there is anything obvious. It sounds like a large plastic box or something "clacking" down against a surface. Weird. Jay
  19. LOL, bring it over next week mate and we will sort it. I am on a mission now to cure every single un desirable noise. When I go over a significant sharp bump in the road I seem to get a kind of "clap" noise from somewhere over in the passenger footwell. Does anyone know how the heated seat relay set is mounted as I have a feeling it's there somewhere. Jay
  20. Sorry its taken me so long, but here is the image of a TT shifter, which shows the 1" offset.
  21. Matt black 16v on red BBS coming out of Tescos on the A34 near Wilmslow. Exchanged thumbs up. Jay
