I forgot to mention. I have a fully working proper version of VAG-COM too so I can scan any cars for faults etc.. if you need that doing.... £15 and I will run a full check. Would love to do it for free, but need cash! :) Jay

s.g - Now that sort of thing is easy for me. :) Jay

Yep Biggrim, I have it too. Made me get a rado! :) Jay

That is the now "UPS" Corrado. It is a Rothe Motorsport VR6 turbo engine and has an incredible spec (don't have it to hand). It is probably the best known Corrado in the world and that picture is from a feature a few years ago. Apparently it handles the power through FWD very well, which is quite impressive in itself. The guy who owns it Mr Kain, did (or still does) work for the motorsport division of VW if I remember rightly. Awesome car, its what inspired me to get those wheels. Jay

Gibber you have PM.

It will be tight depending on your ride height.... You want about a ET20/25 for 8" rims. I run 205/40/17's on my 8.5x17 Vette rims and ran the same on my 8.5x17" porker rims too. Why people complain about kerbs I don't know, if you can't park a car without smacking a kurb you shouldn't be on the road. People don't complain about walls being in the way of their bumpers....... :) Jay

Very nice mate. Any more interior shots? -
Hello Bill, Glad you like the car mate, its been hard work! The major parts you would need to get for the conversion to climate control on a G60 are as follows. Obviously you need the later type dash in order to mount the climate control panel once that is sorted you need.... Complete MK4 Golf heater matrix including all the wiring, ducting and fan etc.. A MK4 Golf air con rad (condensor) A MK4 Golf air con compressor A MK4 Golf air con drier Complete MK4 Golf air-con pipe work. Control panel, relay unit and as much wiriing as possible. That will give you the basics to start an install, then comes the complex bit. You have to cut a hole in the firewall for the air-con connections to pass through and seal properly. You then have to mount the entire MK4 climate control system inside the car and mount the pump to the engine. Once they are in place (sounds easy but its not!) you need to mount the condensor infront of the radiator on some brackets. Once all this is done you need to modify the MK4 pipework (cutting the ally pipe and having it re-welded) so that it fits around the Corrado shell. That then just leaves getting the electrics to work, which is all sorts of fun!! This is a massive massive job and I have not yet done one on a G60 which did not already have air-con installed. I would think you are talking £900 to install it all if the bits are supplied. Jay

4 stud bolts are M12x1.5. 5 stud bolts are M14x1.5 Hope that helps Jay

Gibber you have PM. I will try and sort out some sort of unit eventually but for now I will only be able to do work in situ. I think Phat has had enough of doing his own stuff, let alone other peoples. :) Valver - I am sure I can help people with interesting projects after I move up. A TT dash conversion is a massive massive job, but something I can definately do :), assuming everything I need is supplied (dash, clocks, wiring etc..). Jay

I had a second interview for a job in manchester on Friday so was up there for the weekend. Sorry I missed it, but I will make the next one :) Jay

Furki, I would love to do that mate, the problem is funds. Even a cheap unit for evenings and weekends is damn expensive. I guess the problem is the guarantee of work.... How many engine swaps, dash conversions, climate control installs etc.. do people need.... :) Jay
-
You would need the later style dash in order to mount the climate control panel, you would also need a MK4 climate control heater matrix and pipework, compressor, drier and condensor (radiator), pluss as much wiring, fuses, sensors etc.. as possible. Jay
-
Supercharged, if you can get the parts I can convert it over. Jay
-
So would £1100 all in be a decent price then?? Jay
-
LOL £10K should cover it Furki! :) Jay
-
LOL. Yeah that would cover the petrol! :) Jay

How much do most places charge for that on a VR? Jay

Just wanted to let you all know that I am in the process of changing jobs. My current job finishes at the end of Sept and I won't commence my next one until end of October... To save me from boredom and to stop the funds running dry, I was wondering whether anyone needs any work doing on their car, or even a conversion/install of something a bit different.... I am up for offers of work - a cheaper and trustworthy alternative to getting it done at the garage. :) Get in touch if you think I could help you. I will be based in York but would be happy to travel further afield. Jay
