  1. Cheers lads. Looking forward to meeting everyone up there. I will be doing a lot of talking I reckon! :)
  2. Cheers mate. Spent today doing some of the little wiring jobs. Wired the TT lock/unlock button in the TT centre console to operate the tailgate solenoid as I have the MK4 lock/unlock button in the door so don't need two! Works really well and I will somehow change the logo on the switch to a boot logo instead of a door one. Connected the lighting to it aswell, so it all lights up like factory at night. Wired the passenger door loom in, connecting the 5-wire universal central locking actuator into the MK4 loom, so it replicates everything the MK4 lock assembly micro switches do. Also wired the windows up to the MK4 window control modules, so they all operate off the MK4 switches and loom. Now I have full remote central locking and alarm operating off the two button VW flip key. :) Jay
  3. I have a lightened OE flywheel on my 24v and its excellent. The engine spins up lovely and there is no noticeable downside to it. I got mine done at magnum engines in Poole. Not exactly local to you, but they are good and quick. Jay
  4. Asim - cheers mate I will remember that. Cheers Nick, it should look cool once its all in. Need to order a bit more paint to finish everything off properly for ED38.
  5. Colour coded a load of interior bits ready to match the new leather trim. See my thread...
  6. Had a busy day today colour coding all the bits for the interior. Used some proper custom mixed plastic paint from Bradleys to match the leather and am absolutely blown away with the finish. Really happy with it. Cheers for the recommendation Asim! You can also see the little blanks I made for the door pods as the window switches wil now be in the arm rest in the little SEAT Leon switch panels. Its coming together slowly and I am looking forward to putting all the bits in the car.
  7. Sorry mate Superlite wheels in gloucester did mine originally, but they replaced them with normal BBS type bolts with the 12 star. Jay
  8. Be careful as some of the lights in the Corrado switches are 12v lamps rather than LEDs. So you need to get a tiny 12v lamp instead of an LED. I did it to mine (before I fitted all the MK4 stuff which lights up red anyway) and that is what I found. Hope that helps Jay
  9. Oh yeah I remember you saying that. Gutted. Oh well I will have to pop in and see you at some point mate. Jay
  10. My exisiting Corrado brake pipe is a G60 one, so I guess it must be different?
  11. Cheers Asim. Only 2 weeks to go now. I hope you are coming to ED38 mate, you know I value your opinion... :) Jay
  12. God I hope so. We will be there Friday night supping on a beer mate!! Really really looking forward to this show. Not done a show with my car since ED38 last year. Come and introduce yourself mate will be really good to put faces to names! Was just reading on the ED38 forum and see how people have put pictures of themselves as their avatar. Think that is an excellent idea as then we know who is who at shows.. should start it on here.
  13. erm..... put the entire interior together, starting from scratch on a lot of bits. Get my new wheels sorted and fitted.... erm.....get my bonnet painted and fitted....er....mop the paint....erm...clean it a lot!! A detailed list would be too long. Biggerbigben is in the same situation! :) Jay
  14. Thought I would post some pictures of the modifications I have done this week to the door cards. Having bought a decent set of late spec door cards of John Munyard (Croozin) I proceeded to strip them of all their material and got them back to bare woodchip. Then I cut a half moon section out of the front corner where the door card would foul on my TT dash. Having cut this bit away I secured the doorcards to some donor doors I bought for £30, soley to make my doorcards! I glassed straight onto the door which was taped all over with gaffa tape to make a level surface and covered in cling film. That meant that the doorcard would be as close to the door as possible, but nice and level. Having completed the glassing I then smoothed the section with a skim of filler to make it smooth for trimming. Then once they were complete I moved onto the new window switch location..... Due to the fact I am using all MK4 golf wiring loom, switchgear etc.. I needed to mount the window switch and lock/unlock button somewhere. This meant it had to go in the armrest section. However the armrest in the Corrado is curved and the Seat leon switch panels which I am using to mount the switches (they are the same as a MK4) are flat. So I had to cut a section out of the Corrado armrest and reconstruct it as a flat section. Once that was done I could then cut out the hole to mount the SEAT Leon panel in and filler and smooth the area around it. (the switch panel in the picture is the passenger one, but its the same size and shape as the drivers one) Its all done now, bar a bit of rubbing down, so thought I would post pictures before the trimming so people can see the work that went into the damn things!! Jay
  15. but you never said I did either
  16. Dinkus, First off you don't need special hoses, you can use original MK4 hoses no problem. - 312mm Discs - 4 x 6mm Washers for an M12 bolt - 4 slightly longer (can't remember the dimension) Fine pitch M12 bolts - Calliper carriers suitable for 312mm discs. Thats it. Jay
  17. Ben I have poly bushes where it makes a difference. Front wishbones, arb mounts, steering rack and front cross member. The rear beam is OE bushes and the rest of the suspension is brand new OE stuff, ball joints, tie rods, steering rack, arb drop links, bearings etc.. The poly stuff tightens things up nicely but doesn't noticeably change the noise at all. Loads of sound deadening helps too. I have gone to town with the stuff like Kev. Agreed Kev I have taken a somewhat extreme approach to modernising the 14 year old Rado. Worth it though as anyone who comes from a drive in it will appreciate I hope. :)
  18. No way! :) This is one project car that is staying. I am seriously happy with it, as you may be able to tell! Everything about it is what I hoped it would be....so far. I am going to take a leaf from the Europeans book and keep one car, rather than get one half done then sell it. Loads of people always say how awesome the european cars are.... its because they stick with them for years and perfect every little bit. Jay
  19. I LOVE MY CAR!!!!!! Well I had the best drive so far in the car this weekend. I spent all weekend finishing off the re-installed TT dash and I am sooo pleased with how its coming along, but best of all was how nice it is to drive now. Having had it on the road for a few weeks has given me chance to really iron out any little problems. Now everything is almost there I am really starting to realise how nice this car will be to drive. Its smoother and quieter than my mums MK4 and it is totally effortless. I don't know how I ever did long journeys without cruise control now!!! I am confident it will be at a decent stage for ED38 and I promise I will post some more pics soon!! Jay
  20. No 4WD yet. Happy with the Quaife Diff so far. Its definately not looking awesome at the moment!! Its got half an interior with wires everywhere, needs a damn good clean and has some "runabout" wheels on it. However hopefully over the next 4 weeks it will get back to its old self. Jay
  21. But mine is exactly as it came out of the 24v so its reading right. I am using wayyyy less petrol than I used to with the G60 lump in there. Jay
  22. Drove into work this morning, normal run through town, bit of open dual carrigeway, bit of twisty country road. Driving it all like normal. 25 mile drive. MPG 35.4 Jay
