    wrong bonnet

Waz. The bonnet has not been put on properly, there is adjustment in the hinges at the back which will lift the bonnet up to line up with the wings. I have a late bonnet on mine with earlier wings (I prefer the earlier wings as they sit lower over the wheel although I did notice the wheel is further forward in the arch than with the later wings....) and it all lines up fine. Jay
  2. I like mine. :) but if I had to have one it would probably be a phaeton one. They fit perfectly in the cut-out of the bumper. Jay
  3. LOL. Sorry Ian. Used to be into my ICE (In Car Entertainment) a bit, but have not really touched it yet in the Corrado. SQ = Sound Quality SPL = Sound Pressure Level (volume basically) Hope that explains it. :) Jay
  4. Speak to Ian at Tarrant Valley Trimmers. 01258 451530. He did my doorcards and is an absolute genius. Genuinely nice bloke and a real gent. Tell him I sent you. Jay
  5. I have always wanted a really really nice point reference system. I am not into SPL, too heavy and chavvy :) and I need my boot for the shopping! I have some ideas of what I want to do, but will definately be in touch when it comes to putting a quality system together in the C, probably early next year. Yeah the wheels are like giant fans basically, how effective it actually is I don't know, but even the back of the wheel is sculpted.. crazy yanks!! Jay
  6. I don't know Ben, you would think he works with Audioscape or something wouldn't you! :) Tell you what Kev, get us some for free for our mag features and we will fit them! :) :) Jay
  7. Cheers Kev, I respect opinions of people who build proper cars themselves, so thanks. Audioscape pods is something I will do eventually I am sure, I have not started on the ICE yet, but it will come! :) Everything is as solid and as factory as I could make it and I lost track of the number of times I heard "it looks like its supposed to be there" which to me is the biggest compliment I can get. As I said before I love the rims and most people seem to, but I understand some people not liking them as they are quite different. Yes they are genuine Corvette rims, which means they are light, strong and actually directional. :) Jay
  8. I believe you Kev and think they may be on my X-mas list. :) jay
  9. Interesting.... I just have a solid front mount at the mo (with poly x-member bushes) and standard everything else. I want to uprate the rears, but don't want to ruin the smoothness... Jay
  10. My mate has fitted VT mounts all round and its very rough. I would stick to just the front and possibly the g/box mount if I were you. The rear mount is (as Kev said) effectively direct to the shell and will transmit everything. The front mount however is on an independant beam. Jay
  11. Cheers Kev. I don't expect everyone to like them and I am very fussy with wheels, there are very few I like. The ones I do like I have owned and grown out of. I love them which is what matters! :) Jay
  12. Yeah, some mixed opinions on there! :) They will have to come over and see the car. Jay
  13. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2181146 They get a bit confused bless em! :) Jay
  14. If its for a 24v 2.8 V6 and no good to you I will have it off you for £20 Chris as I need one. :) Jay
  15. LOL. Don't worry mate I will get some other ones, I need them to be re-trimmed in cream anyway, the ones I sold to you are too good for that. :) Jay
  16. Yeah the black ones I sold to BlueJoe. They were much more bolstered than mine and I think eventually I would like those again. Mine are great I am just a fussy bu99er! :) Jay
  17. Nope they have always been black piping. I want to eventually get some Turbo front seats (with the deeper side bolsters) and get them in cream without the piping. Not yet though! :) Jay
  18. Cheers Brian. I wanted it to look like it belonged in there and figured by continuing the dash colour scheme into the doors would help with that look. Jay
  19. Interesting, cheers Yandards. Its the first one in the time I have owned it (4 years) so I should be OK. I was thinking about getting the wings done and I was not happy with the bumper, so yeah its basically going to get sorted. Gives me an nice opportunity to do a few things I have planned too. :) Jay
  20. Trouble was mine is so low it went straight under the taxi's bumper until it hit the headlight. :( Jay
  21. Believe me it is very challenging. Physically mounting it in place is the easy bit. Making "everything" work and it all being factory like and reliable is a whole different ball game! Depends on what you have tackled before really, but have a look through my thread to see what sorts of things you have to do if you want it all in there. The sound is somewhere between a 12v VR6 and M3 CSL. It obviously a very smooth and powerful feeling engine as it has the variable intake and 204BHP out of the box. With a chip from AMD you are talking 230BHP, but still completely standard idle, MPG etc.. Jay
  22. Cool. Keep us posted as I might need some bits doing.
  23. Well I have one in mine. It all depends on how factory you want it to be. You can use the VR6 gearbox and all the VR6 driveshafts etc.. if you fit a VR6 clutch and flywheel. You need the clocks and the ignition barrel for the immobiliser system and as much of the loom as you can. I fitted the entire MK4 loom in to keep it all factory, but you can splice bits in if you want. You have to modify the front engine mount a bit and modify the front cross member to clear the air-con pump if you are keeping that. See my thread below to follow the build, although its far from detailed it might give you a bit more of an idea.... Jay
