Soft mallet time- give it a good old whacking. Work your way around the rim.
-
Yep, identical! Done the swap myself. The metal brackets are a little different, so may need swapping over if stuff doesn't fit properly.

Do you want to be on the stand? Could still fit you in? Just had the confirmation through: CONFIRMATION – CORRADO CLUB OF GREAT BRITAIN Dear Andy Thanks very much for booking your club camping and display area for 10 vehicles. We have noted the number of vehicles you expect (10) but would ask if this number changes significantly that you let us know as soon as you possibly can. If any of your members apply in advance for passes individually, please could you remind them to write the name of your club on their ticket application to ensure they end up in the same place as the rest of you. So, go ahead and book your tickets- just let them know you'll be on the clubstand. ---------- Post added at 05:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:03 PM ---------- You need to buy your ticket by May 29th... -
What's the new mota then?
-
Try the search mate- been done to death ;) What's your budget? Get the best you can afford- KW V3s are awesome! If you're on a tighter budget, the Weitecs are a very good alternative. I would steer clear of cheap stuff like Jom, Raceland, Spax and the basic FKs. You get what you pay for!
-
Think you'll need a 45 profile with 16s to have the rolling diameter correct. Could be talking bollocks though
-
Out of all the Rados, decent G60s seem to hold their value the best.
-
Could be a loose earth. There is an 'earth wheel' tucked under the dash on the inner driver's wing. Make sure everything's connected securely + the plug at the back of the clocks.
-
Plain key should be fine mate. Think the transponders were 1994 on :)
-
Mate, that would look absolutely terrible on a Rado IMHO! Sounds like your exhaust needs re-hanging. One of my old 16v's had a dodgy DTM upswept exhaust that was badly fitted, and it had melted the bumper a little. Swapped it for a Magnex ASAP!
-
This is such a shame, Andy. You've worked soooo hard on both of these cars :(
-
Hi mate! Yes, there's a buyers' guide in the Wiki at the bottom of the front page clicky
-
TBH, that's pretty much the going rate. I sold an immaculate set last year for around £80... nobody wants to pay over £100 for a standard cloth interior, even though they should fetch more than that.
-
Blimey, Alex- good job you're sorting it now, before it totally falls apart! Will be so satisfying once it's all finished though ;)
-
Come on guys, the ignition switch isn't difficult. Easily done from above- remove cowling, drop column to lowest position. A selection of tiny screwdrivers is essential. DO NOT refit that tiny screw afterwards! Just cable tie the switch in ;)

Breaking Corrado 2l 16v blackberry show car all parts 99p start
CazzaVR replied to voo51's topic in Cars for Breaking
I don't want to clutter your thread, but this is a crying shame- you've put sooooo much time, effort and money into this car. You sure there's no other option? How about selling the seats seperately? If you still needed to sell the car, you could drop the price accordingly and be much more likely to sell. It's a terrible time to sell a car like this :( -
Yeh, looks OK. So much of it has been rattle-canned, and the rest has peel. Awful! I couldn't believe that he didn't make any attempt to help me whatsoever. He obviously cares as little for other people as he does his cars. Numpty.

Cat C?! Not surprised  Yeh, was a complete waste of time and petrol. Nevermind!

Hi mate, afraid it's a CCGB stand. Would be great if you could join us though- only a tenner to join, and you get that back several times over with the 10% off at GSF + VW discount :) You could join on the day ;) Updated the list on p1. -
Went to view this: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2716740.htm last week. Sounded very appealing in the ad- rebuilt engine, black leather etc... I have viewed around 40 Corrados in my time, and this is, without question, the worst I've ever seen! It's absolutely terrible. It's only suitable for breaking, but even then, only if you can get it for sub £500 (at the most). Every panel has either: laquer peel (extensive), rattle can spray (extensive) or rust. Both sills have been jacked up along their entirety- never seen anything like it. Passenger door handle missing + door skin damaged, where the OWNER had broken in because he'd left his keys inside   All fogs/indicators badly cracked or smashed. Splitter cracked badly. Engine bay is absolutely filthy. Engine seems to pull well, with no smoke, but not as fast as it should be. Receipts for engine parts, but no record of the work, apart from the owner's own writing in the service book. The work was done by his 'mate'. MOT carried out by... his 'mate'. This car would never get through a proper MOT. At least one broken engine mount. Top mounts both torn in half. Steering sloppy and tracking off. Gearchange very sloppy. Lots of knocking. Heater matrix popped and bypassed. Carpets smell damp. Leather has white paint split on it. Very dirty. Driver's bolster has quite a few strange 'pock marks', which would take some sorting. Heated seats didn't work. Steering wheel leather badly torn with extensive peeling. Heaters don't work. Heater facia badly cracked. Current owner has been driving the car untaxed for weeks. When I said I wasn't interested, he basically begged me to have it and reduced his price by £500 with 6 months tax included. I was half tempted at that point to buy and break, and told him I'd think about it. However- my car failed to start when I went to leave. Classic immobiliser symptoms. He was sat next to my car on a wall with his friend. While I was clearly having a prob, they watched in silence for 30 seconds. He then said 'You'll have to buy mine now,' and went inside! Cock! That made my mind up totally. Thankfully mine started as soon as I did the override procedure. In short, this car is an absolute nail and the owner is a tool. Save yourself the hassle and don't bother! M960 TET - Reg added for future ref - S'charged.

Engine trying to escape from the bonnet....
CazzaVR replied to Fulltimejunglist's topic in Engine Bay
The front mount on the 1.8 16v is really easy to change as there's slightly more room around the fans etc than on the 2.0 16v. The others are fairly straightforward too- worth buying all new bolts etc from VW. Don't be tempted to go cheap (GSF etc) -total false economy. Either go VW or some quality uprated mounts such as Vibratechnics or VF. Black Forest industries do poly inserts which are very good and much cheaper, but they don't ship to the UK. I'm pretty sure they have a UK distributor though- try the search. Think you'll find poly insert sets on Ebay.de too ;) -
Remove the bracket and cut off the 'bolt' bit that the rubber is secured to. Just fit a bolt across with a new rubber on it, rather than pay £££ for a new one (think they're around £14 IIRC!).

As I mentioned earlier, it's worth dropping CrazyDave a pm ;)

That looks very nice- welcome back!
