  1. Have really enjoyed following this thread, Tom. What a fantastic end result- stunning! Got to be one of the neatest, well-concieved builds ever! It really does look factory- reckon you just need a pair of screw on strut covers (pence from VW) and a battery jacket :) Well done!
  2. Fitted new pedal rubbers inc accelerator (Scirocco item). Makes a nice difference to the interior. Topped up coolant, fitted blue expansion cap + new front strut cap.
  3. I've had, Milltek, Magnex X2, Supersprint X2, Scorpion, Powerflow and of course standard exhausts on my Rados. The Powerflow was excellent, but it had been fitted very, very well and sounded perfect. Trouble is, it depends who's fitting it with custom exhausts. Others in order of preference: Magnex, Standard, Supersprint, Milltek, Scorpion. The Milltek & Scorpion didn't sound brilliant & weren't a straightforward fit, requiring several alterations.
  4. Stand now booked :) Have a few days to confirm numbers, so if anyone else is interested, please let me know asap!
  5. Yeh, Dave still does some mapping, subject to availability. Maybe worth giving Dave a shout...
  6. Meeeow! Don't start a **** vs VR debate, for the love of God!
  7. No, don't think so. 8v is digifant/MP9/SIMOS, 16v Kjet AFAIK.
  8. It's a safety precaution- do it. In theory you should be OK, but things like that are never worth the risk. If one of the middle bolts is knackered and you remove the bumper bolts, you could be in trouble. Yeh, only remove the outer 2 of the 3- don't touch the middle ones!
  9. Welcome! No, that's not normal. Could well be the ball joints/tie rods etc. Worth changing ball joints/tie rod ends/top mounts, drop links etc all at the same time. Could also be the wheels- what width are they? The rado works best on the 15's it was designed for I'm afraid! Wide wheels & 17's in particular make it a little cumbersome.
  10. An 8v isn't going to set the world alight performance wise, but they're great! They drive really nicely- more low down grunt than the 16v, but do run out of steam up the revs. Great fuel consumption for a 2 litre petrol car. Go for it!
  11. Sounds promising- they'll be able to make it as quiet as you want :)
  12. Excellent, Charlie! Worth the wait ;) Will be interesting to see what she's putting out... Coming to any shows this year?
  13. Looks like a good 'un! Nice colour combo 8)
  14. Is there a screw on the arch liner too? Can't remember!
  15. As above with the contacts- if that doesn't work, try changing the loom (should be short if it's the same as the Rado). My current VR did the same thing, checked and cleaned the contacts. Finally fixed by changing the loom. The one I took off had no visible defects  ---------- Post added at 06:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:05 PM ---------- Lovely car by the way ;)
  16. I'd go for a custom one- just try to find somewhere that has had good reviews/word of mouth, as the workmanship can vary greatly! The Longlife centre in Berkeley (near Glos) is very good, although the manager is a bit of a tit!
  17. Yep, them's the ones! Just undo the plugs from the backs of the indicators & fogs, then the bumper should slide out. Pull a little on one side, then the other until it's far enough to just come forward. Put a blanket or something on the floor in case it drops down.
  18. Aye, was a good day! Realised I was quite burnt once I got home. The cars got a lot of attention (IT'S NOT A SCIROCCO!). Thanks again to Jake's Mum for the brilliant food 8) Was good to see everyone, including Toad! Hope Oz got home OK :( ps- the VR I went to see was ready for the scrapheap + the owner was a bit of a to$$er :(
  19. Excellent work Jake! Clay is brilliant isn't it? Amazing what a difference it makes.
  20. Dark coloured C heading down Singleton Park Road, Swansea last night. Nice rims- sounded good too 8) White C heading westbound along the M4 near Cardiff today at around 2:30pm.
  21. Yeh, thanks Steve. I've ordered one too- should be in next week :)
  22. It's looking excellent, Dom. Love the Sebrings- any more pics?
