Go with Vibratechnics or VW. For the GB mount use a MK2 Golf Deisel mount. Don't be tempted to buy pattern parts- complete false economy with mounts!
-
As above really, although I completely understand your reasons. I sold my mint 16v because I had to use it as a daily, when it just needed occasional use to keep it perfect. I got so anal about it, I stopped enjoying the car. You'll want another if you sell though- I guarantee it!

Looks a bit like a Supersprint. Whatever it is though, get it to a custom exhaust place ;)
-
Looks like a Magnex type fitment, but doesn't really look like a magnex exhaust. Got a pic of the tailpipe? Your best bet is to take it to a custom exhaust place (Longlife/Powerflow etc) and they'll sort it easily ;)

Opening it up will make quite a difference. The closed grille is good for cold winters, but a really bad idea for the warmer months!
-
Is your grille the very late style with the top two slats closed? If, so get yourself a completely open one- this will drop the temp by at least 5C. Otherwise it could be that your stat isn't opening properly, the blue temp sensor isn't reading properly or one of the probs suggested above. Worth seeing if there are any codes.

Sounds like you've been busy! Always satisfying to find the cause of a problem. The switches get amazingly gunked up- amazing what a thorough clean can do. Love the roof strips- ideally I need to do mine- just can't justify the price at the mo though- paint is more urgent ;)

I can vouch for Ian's car- been looked after no expense spared 8)

Looks like he's selling the replacements, inc the brake lines ;)

As it's a VR, I'd drop CrazyDave a PM. His map is far superior to any other map for the normally aspirated VR IMHO.
-
Not sure what the remapping situation is at DG anymore, as Dave has left. Think Graham will do the Revo stuff, but not the live mapping...
-
Good work- looks stunning! 8)

Pea-roast X1000!

That power figure is absolute top whack for the AUQ. Has it got a front mount intercooler? Our vRS runs 220-230 bhp- has a custom remap + Jetex downpipe and 100 cel sports cat- this made a big difference. Be interesting to see if it has the dyno plots to prove.

Absolutely! 8) Reckon an evening in the pub, with an atlas and guide book will help ;)

Glad it's gone to a good home mate :) -
Nice one mate- did you get it done at Stone?

'Got a bit of a plan for the inside which will be reviled soon enough' Is it really gonna be THAT bad?! Pink flocked dash? ---------- Post added at 07:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:20 PM ---------- ps- good to see you getting stuck in, Jake 8) Like that last pic- my black VR and my new Storm with yours in the middle 8)

Mystic Blue Storm, 2 previous keepers, 124K on the clock, gauge pack, Koni TAs + H&R springs, Magnex, BMC, 263s, 288s, MKIV rears. Think that's about it! Drives very, very well. Ideally needs a front end respray (although it's not that bad at all). Needs a good machine polish.
-
Really, really chuffed! As Dave says, a little paint and this will be perfect- she's wanted for nothing under Dave's ownership. Loved the drive home- some good roads down through Monmouthshire ;) Dave, make sure you check this thread to see how she's doing :)

 It's looking great Paul 8)

How on earth did they manage to leave those finger prints in the second pic- you'd think they'd sort it before sending it to you!

Stunning car- not seen it yet this year- going to National Day, Gareth?
