Use a cable tie to hold it in place instead of the bastard screw ;) Can be done from above easy enough- easier if you move the column down to it's lowest position, remove all the cowling + steering wheel. Only took me 25 mins last time, from the top. Will take even less next time (if it ever needs doing again), cos there's no screw now :)

Get a battery jacket from VW- makes a real difference. A new expansion tank also makes a big difference, along with a new style blue cap.

Can you not just go to VW? Take the pic, (or even better!) the car with you? It's a pretty obvious hose tbh.

Had one on mine for a couple of months- simply not worth the hassle IMHO! You have to take it off every few days and hoover it inside/wipe the bonnet down. You also have to put masking tape on the bonnet where all the tighter parts are. You have to remove/replace the tape every few days. If it gets wet, it has to come off immediately (oo-err!), and then has to be dried. My paint went all milky where the bra had been. It had rained for 5 minutes, then the sun came out and evaporated the water. Not much you can do if this all happens when it's parked and you're at work. I'd rather spend £200 on a respray every 3 years than faff around so much with a bra.

Looks like no. 7 on the diagram. Nice and easy to change.

MT90 is indeed excellent, but noticed the other day that Opie are selling Castrol SMX-S very cheap at the mo and it's pretty much the same spec. Have used this in two different Rados and it was excellent stuff.

VW are the stealers... Yup, you should be able to get it. Otherwise there are quite a few pattern pipes available as most are the same as the MK2. Register on Vagcat and you can view all the pics and get part numbers & prices!

Very fine wet and dry, then polish. Start with 1000 grit and work up to 2000.

High build primer should do if it is simply surface stuff.

Thanks! Can you remember how much it was?

That's a great solution to the old rattling window prob- looks really easy too 8) You can use any thick polythene sheeting for the membrane. Just make sure it's stuck very thoroughly all the way around. The black sticky stuff is a nightmare, but works really well- think VW still do it?

Any pics? Mine is getting noisy now.

The king of bling! What's up with your suspension?! Surely by the time you've paid for these + fitment, you'll be well on the way to a set of Weitecs :? -
That's looking really good mate- shame the brakes etc don't stay like that for long! Westwoods are growing on me 8)

It was a youge kiddie I cant remember his name ( It might have been Chris) but some one els came and helped him finish off. No they didnt say anything to me about getting the alignment done. :confused4: Not good- shame, cos they've looked after 3 of my Rados and done a fantastic job. Think Ian's been more than happy too.

Was gonna suggest top mounts, but thought they'd be fine as they'd just been done!  Who actually did the mounts? I would give Rich a call... not good! Didn't they recommend getting the alignment done? They don't do it themselves, but when I had mine done, he sent me off to Pro-tyre.

Now then, now then, what's going on here then?! :shades: More info is most certainly required!
