Yup, was sounding absolutely awesome yesterday! 8) Didn't look too bad either ;)

Thanks for the heads up, Swompy. Will keep an eye on it... Hopefully as Jim says, it's just a few deposits. That was the first time I've driven it in anger + the previous owner hadn't driven it much in the last few months. Got the all red tails on now- looks great 8) Will leave them on a couple more days before I decide what to do- should think I'll keep 'em though :) Cheers Jim :salute:

Thanks, Ed! Yeh, not too keen on the bra, but it looks OK and as you say, it's on there for a reason :) Good to see you again yesterday- not long 'til the holidays ;)

Nice to meet you today, mate- your car is in very good hands! Many thanks to D & G for the fantastic service today :notworthy: I was extremely happy with the work done and especially the care and attention that went with it :salute: -
Care to elaorate?!

Cool! Then it's turbo time  Coming to National Day?

Ignition switch is worth a look. Not sure how you test it, but it's prob worth changing - especially if it's the white version.
-
Nice work again, Jon! What's left to do? You must be nearly there now, surely!

I've owned a G60, 3 x 2.0 16v, 3 x VR6 and currently have a 1.8 16v. Never owned an 8v, but have driven a couple (was pleasantly surprised). I liked all the valvers, loved my G60 (had 68mm pulley + chip), adored my VR6s. For me the VR is known as 'the' one to go for, for good reason. It feels more classy, expensive, refined, yet can be a real balls-out fun car to drive when needed. Gotta say, I agree a bit with Dave about the valvers. Mine feels so slow, unless I thrash it everywhere, which does get a bit tiring. However, I'm not charging around like I used to in the G60 or VR6s (or my Octy vRS for that matter), making my drive to work a little calmer (which is nice!) Ultimately if I keep my valver for a long while, it'll be defo going to DG Autotech for a 1.8T... As others have said, it's all subjective and down to one's own opinion ;)

I'll get some pics up when I get a mo- was fitted by the previous owner. Looks straight forward though :)
-
 Typhy actually asked what the VR was like off the line, hence why I was talking about 0-60mph  Everyone's spot on though- you need to drive as many as possible to make your own mind up.
-
It's much faster- around 2 secs faster to 60mph. In the real world, that's a few car lengths.

 Behave yourself, Monkey!

Think you're prob right. The bra is very snug on the leading edge when the bonnet is closed, and an eyebrow would inrease this by a few mm.
-
The MK2 one fits with a little alteration- got one on mine ;)
-
Would think so, although it may be a little tight.

That thread is for a VR6 ;) The 9a is quite tricky to fault find on IMHO. My first port of call would be to have a very close look at all the vacuum lines/intake pipework in-between/underneath the airbox and throttle body. It's very complex- just make sure nothing is lose, all hoses are tightly on etc. It could also have been a sticky ISV. Probably worth giving it a good clean with some carb cleaner. It's a silver cylinder shaped valve to the right of the engine. Has a couple of breather hoses and an electrical plug on the end. Just take it off, give it a really good squirt/shake/soak inside with carb cleaner. Leave it as long as you can, then tip out any excess cleaner. Do again if you have time. Then spray in a small amount of 3 in 1 (or similar, so long as it's PTFE). Fit it back on. May be a little spluttery at first, but leave it running for a while or over night to let all the carb cleaner evaporate and it should be fine. Would also change the fuel filter when you get it serviced- 10 min job and the filter is less than a tenner :) HTH!

Some absolute stunners in there! Also the odd minger too!

Absolutely! :D -
Wasn't she on Big Brother a couple of years back (not that I watch it)? I usually watch it, but find it so irritating! The presenters all seem to be trying waaaay too hard.
