    K&N Induction kit

vwdeviant, yep. Worth doing. Improves throttle response a little and sounds nice with the snorkel removed. You can fit a cold air feed too. Don't bother drilling holes though!
  2. Vince told me you couldn't do the WUR mod on the 9A. He said you can only do it on the KR.

    K&N Induction kit

They sound great (IMHO), although a lot of people find them too loud. They will actually reduce the performance, because they are located in the engine bay where they soak up all the hot air, even with a cold air feed. Get yourself a Carbonio or BMC CDA. More pricey, but much better. You could also do a DIY cold air intake using the K & N filter on the end.
  4. That green one looks like it's got beige Recaros...
  5. Was having a poke around the engine bay and noticed two things: 1. Down inbetween the bits on top of the metering head there is a kind of red plastic screw. What is this for? Does it adjust the mixture? If so, which way do you turn it? 2. This white plastic tube was loose, so I attached it to the side of the airbox again. What's the significance of this part? What happens if it's unplugged? Any effect on mpg? Cheers!
  6. S14A Touring. Nearly bought a black one a couple of years ago, before the very nice seller ran off with the deposit and sold the car to someone else  Barsteward! Love 'em! Defo get one to compliment the C. Not many about either.
  7. Wot Jim said ^^^ Been there, done that, and now I'm on C number 6! I contemplated selling again only a few weeks ago, but left it a few days to calm down, carefully thought it through and thankfully changed my mind. And now, the stat has gone! If you sell, you'll die every time you see one. Your car looks like a cracker, and most of those things are annoying niggles. Get the oil prob/clatter checked out by a specialist for your peace of mind. If it's major, have another think- maybe Winter storage, then get it sorted in the Spring.
  8. Think the FK grille really suits your car, Jim, especially with the eyebrow. Pic with the badge fitted? Am thinking of going down the same route
  9. Jim, pretty sure my OEM grille just has one cut-out too. Make sure you've got the grille off the car as it's fiddly in situ. Thought you were getting a standard grille?
  10. They're actually really quiet and refined until you boot it- then it sounds amazing! They seem to be going for £2K upwards at the mo. Prob worth spending at least £3K to get a decent one.
  11. That's crap mate. Hopefully it should pull out OK. Somebody did this to our Civic Coupe last year in Wotton :(
  12. Just swapped a couple of bits with Phil K- cheers matey! Nice to meet you the other night :D
  13. Like the latest gen Prelude, although it's starting to show it's age. The Corrado on the other hand, has timeless looks imho. Corrado much more full of character, and more fun to drive. VR and G60 much, much more torquey too. Prelude probably waaaay more reliable. If you're prepared for some garage bills etc, I reckon the Corrado would be far more satisfying.
  14. Just get OEM bushes. Only a couple of quid each. GSF sell new wishbones with them already pressed in, so even though you'll spend a bit more on the parts, you should end up actually saving money cos the labour for changing the bushes will be less. Poly bushes improve the handling, but I found the ride in my last valver unbearable after a while- it was fitted with FK Konigsport coilovers and poly bushes all round. And as for the squeaking...
  15. Try turning the fan to 0 and heat to 0 wih the engine off. Then, try switching it to screen. You can then turn the others back on. Think there's more strain on the cables when you try and do everything at once. Worth a shot.
  16. Have been stung in the past with several misdiagnoses. Main culprit being a certain VW specialist in Canterbury... Also not too happy with the work and attitude of a VERY reputable specialist who I took the car to in the summer... Luckily, I've found a local VW specialist who is a top bloke. Often under-charges on parts and labour, and always helps out at short notice.
  17. Gutting! What a nightmare- hope you get it sorted. Prob worth buying it back and breaking it.
