John, yeh, reckon I could claim for it. Trouble is, the garage is down in Bournemouth (where the previous owner lived), and I'm 2 and a half hours away near Bristol :(
-
Thanks matey, you're a star :) Pics are worth a thousand words. Best wishes for your retest!
-
2_Door_fun, thanks for the pic! Where did you put the WD40, and what did you actually wack with the hammer? Could you bung some arrows on the pic? Cheers
-
Yeh, they are. You need the brake line conversion kit from Goodridge too @ £35.
-
Cheers bud, just got to find somewhere flat to work on!
-
Thanks guys. Steve, I'll give that a go first. Is it best to have the wheels off?
-
...so hopefully no need for new calipers? Are the bias valve and cables easy to change?
-
Cheers Steve- good idea. Is there any way to unseize them? One of them was new in Feb, so shouldn't have seized already.
-
Both rear calipers on my new valver have completely seized. I can only park on a flat surface. The paperwork shows that the n/s rear caliper was replaced in Feb this year, so it shouldn't have seized by now. Anyway, before I spend loads of dosh on new MKIV calipers, what's the best way to try and unseize them? Gotta be worth a try. Is it just a case of wheels off and lots of WD40, or do I have to remove the calipers totally (worried about trying this!). Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

double-6s, oh dear!

Discovered that the callipers on my new C have totally had it :( Figure I might as well go for some MKIV callipers. Where is the best place to get them? GSF seem cheapest. I'm also ordering the MKII-MKIV rear brake line conversion kit from Goodridge. Is this correct? Cheers :)

Rodders, I'm determined to keep this one and just put up with it if things go wrong. My wife says she won't ever let me sell it either- what a star! :D Yep, vRS is staying too 8) . Rach will mainly be using that, and we'll use it for 'family' holidays etc when baby arrives. And don't let Mr Boj here temp you into selling that Storm!

The older boyfriend of a friend of mine at Sixth Form bought a brand new blue 1.816v. Thought it was really cool at the time. Then I kinda forgot about them for a few years until my mate bought an Aqua G60, which was brilliant. Then I got my first teaching job and the Deputy Head had a blue valver. He was thinking of selling and we talked about it a few times, then my mate told me he was selling his G60. So I bought it :) Since then, it's been a bit love/hate. When I've been hit in the pocket badly, I've got fed up and sold them. Tried to go sensible with Jap hot hatches etc, but nothing compares. There's something really special about the C. So, I'll be picking up my new valver on Friday 8) :D Can't wait!!!!

Plenty of Boards of Canada, Black Dog, Massive Attack, Jeff Buckley and Arcade Fire at the mo.

Hi there! Nice Olop 8) :) Be sure to post some more pics when it's lowered

CorradoDriver, if you're still not sure, check the engine- the US Spec SLC came with the 2.8 litre lump, but the Euro VR6 came with a 2.9. We got lucky for once!
-
Wrong bulb? Put wrong bulb into my brake light once and the fogs kept coming on every time I braked!
-
Big thanks to Niges16v for the KR cams. Did me a realy good price and sent them out really quickly and well packaged. Big :thumbleft:
-
Would think any of the other VR6 ones will fit.
-
Gotta be the rarest colour. Remember that VR being nicked too- think they towed it away :( Anyone got any pics of one?
-
VW can definately verify it- I phoned them about one once with the reg & VIN and they confirmed it within a few seconds.
-
Yep, after much shopping around for one for my last VR, ECP came up trumps.
-
Thanks Steve! £7.49- makes me wanna cry! Radiator was well over £200 fitted!
