  1. Wahey, nice one Jim. Looking forward to seeing them on the car at Longleat :D 8)
  2. 3 in Canterbury- Sunday morning dark blue J reg 16v parked in the Crosskeys pub carpark. Yesterday, dark blue M reg debadged in Wincheap, and then a black L reg VR parked around the corner from the Merc garage on Broad Oak Road. Seen it there quite often.
  3. Used the AA a couple of times and they were great. Thumbs up :D One of the AA guys even put up with being run over by a snotty local. He then set about puncturing her tyre with his screwdriver! Hilarious!
  4. Kev, any benefit to losing it? How do you get rid? Cheers
  5. Not yet mate- need to borrow a digital camera and get some pics up. Basically just take the lenses off and paint the outside bits of the reflector. Looks 8)
  6. marcus, The G60 and VR are VERY different beasts. The G60 feels very 'punchy' in gear and is a bit lairy compared to the VR, which is a lot more refined (although sounds amazing when you give it some! :D  ). The VR also feels a bit lazy in mid range compared to the G60. With regard to Powerflow, they're a bit hit and miss. Really depends on the garage. You normally get excellent fit and can get the sound you want. The one on my 16v was already fitted and sounded superb- only a bit louder than standard but rumbled and popped a bit on tickover 8) The Magnex sounded similar, but was more quiet at idle. Had a twin exit Powerflow on my first Civic- looked brilliant, but it was too loud. Nice around town, but would give you a big headache on the motorway and got really annoying! If the car has been lowered, I'd go for a Powerflow, but make sure they make it quiet. Maybe fitting probs with the Magnex on a lowered car. Otherwise go for Magnex :D HTH
  7. Hi, and welcome! Agree with Rodders, Magnex looks much better IMHO, and seems to have less fitting issues. Had one on my old 16v and it was real quality and fitted perfectly :D 8) Milteks seem to vary greatly in fit- have seen some that stick out way too far from the rear :?
  8. Only done a couple of simple things to mine so far. Colour coded the grill and headlight surrounds, Lupo wipers, detailed the headlight reflector in black and am in the process of removing the side strips. All simple, subtle and very easy to do (apart from the laquer on the grill  ). Particularly like the reflector mod- costs a couple of quid, only takes about an hour and looks 8) Future mods: Magnex or Powerflow exhaust De-cat BMC or some type of cold air feed mod Wheel refurb
  9. Just as an idea, next week I'm getting both rear wheel bearings, discs and fast road pads all round, centre exhaust hanger welded, new oil filter housing and a couple of other bits- been quoted around £400 by VW specialist. The wing would be £100-£200 to be reprayed. Sounds like a bit of a headache to me, but then if the engine is sweet and it drives nicely etc you could end up with a bargain. Like silver C's too 8)

    Happy 200k!

Well done on joining the 200K club :D Like the dials by the way 8)
  11. Just got around to renewing my membership (a few months late  ). Gotta say it is well worth it- as other people have said the events are brilliant (especially Woburn) and I've saved loads of money over the past couple of years as my stealer gives 10-15% membership discount :D
  12. Yeh, drop in a panel filter and you can either drill the wingside side of the box or route a cold air feed in- either through the carbon canister hole (under the air box) or from behind the front grill (prob easiest to do). Do a search as there's plenty of stuff on 16v airboxes. The Scottish Corrado Club website has an excellent 'How to' for the above mod. And yes, 120mm is rather too low. You'll need the arches rolled, spacers and the ride will be horrible for day to day driving!
  13. jedi-knight83, when I fitted mine to my old G60 I used sticky backed velcro for each end, and drilled two very small holes for the middle. These drilled into the top inside corners of the headlight surrounds, which don't have any glass or anything behind. HTH
  14. Yeh, it does. Only takes a few seconds to take it off though, so not really a problem.
  15. Can't believe they actually had the balls to send you that cheque- unbelievable!  Reckon you should ask for at least £5k mate. Stick to your guns. Send that cheque back now!
  16. He he! Nice sound clips guys! Need to sort some sort of induction for my new VR- although it sounds great I really miss that extra growl  Don't know why people find it tiresome :? it's not much louder than standard unless you're on full throttle.... and how often do people drive at full throttle?
  17. Jim, had the same thing happen in my old G60. Used to park on a hill, nose pointing upwards and ended up with several cm's of water in the footwells  As Mike has suggested, it's prob the door seal. Really easy to sort- just make sure you take your time and do it properly. Removing the doorcards is a pain in the arse, so you don't want to do it more than you have to! I did a hasty fix and it just happened again in the next downpoor  I used that really strong waterproof gutter tape- brilliant stuff! :D
  18. Green C heading west bound on the M4 near Newbury turnoff between 11 and 12 this morning.
  19. Yep Rodders, it's plain old black.
  20. Yeh, seemed cheap to me, but his work looks top notch. My paint isn't metallic, which may have brought it down a little.
  21. Gonna get the following done: Bonnet and front wings respray Colour coded grill, headlight surounds and rear number plate surround. Been quoted £200, but the guy can't do it until November  so I'm going to take it somewhere else. Sounded like a good quote to me- what do you guys think? Is this too much or is it too cheap? The guy seems to know what he's talking about and the other cars around the garage looked excellent.
  22. Mine's doing the same too! As Roddy says, it looks like the oil cooler seals. Gonna get mine sorted after payday
  23. Sounds great doesn't it?! A lot of people slag off the noise of the K & N, but IMHO it sounds awesome, and only when you want it to :D  I'm trying to sort out a cold air induction kit for mine at the mo' Glad you're finally starting to enjoy it :D
  24. Yesterday- yellow C crossing over the M25 (above me!) on a bridge- think it was near Guildford.
  25. Did mine myself on my aqua blue g60 (which is pearlescent). Quite straight forward really. Just wet and dry it, a few coats of plastic primer (with a bit more wet and dry in-between), then a few coats of paint (alternate layers of spraying horizontally and then vertically), finally a couple of layers of laquer. Obviously make sure each coat is completely dry before applying the next coat. HTH.
