  1. Have you tried a stainless exhaust place like Powerflow or Longlife? I'm sure they'd be a little cheaper than that.
  2. Pete- that sounds like a good option- would appreciate the copany details ;) Good research skills George! I've emailed XK8 parts and they're UK based, so it's promising! :)
  3. Yeh, found that the other day on BFI, but don't think they ship outside the UK?
  4. So annoying as the Jag one was under a tenner!
  5. Hi mate, got this off Autotrader: 4513mm ---------- Post added at 8:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:54 PM ---------- Thanks Dox- not the same as the Jag one though. The one on Ebay is the only one BBS are still officially producing, however, it's not supposed to be very good as it bends/breaks easily. Very expensive too!
  6. Thanks mate, already explored that option. It's now obsolete from jag :-( ---------- Post added at 8:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:30 PM ---------- Just got this from Autotrader- 4513mm :)
  7. Collected the vRS yesterday. All tickety-boo 8) Just need to sell it now... Got the RC's on in time for Coleford. Nothing's ever simple- changed 3 wheels and got to the last wheel nut on the last Solitude... wouldn't budge! Broke two extention bars, two 17mm sockets and damaged the toolkit wheelbrace :( Had to go out and buy a whopping breaker bar and new deep sockets. Came off straight away -phew! Still no luck finding the correct centre cap spanner. There's one on Ebay for £27, but it's the crappy one that breaks :( Will just get a strap wrench ;) Love the RC's - they look perfect on the Rado 8) I think I could do with dropping it a little further though, as the arch gap is a touch too big IMHO. A pic from Coleford (thanks Lew):
  8. Just ordered a whole set through the new Corrado section. Very easy to use- you don't have to faff around working out sizes etc. Good work Neil! 8)
  9. Can't believe how cold it was! The first two years here we all got sunburn! Thanks for organising it again mate, and thanks to your Ma too- scrummy lunch provided as usual 8) Had a good time- plenty of interesting discussions (irrational hatred of replicas etc  ) + some good interest in the cars, and one guy who said he thought the alloys would be worth more than the car, and thought he was hilarious! Any more pics guys?
  10. Best to take all of it off. There's a hidden screw underneath the rear ashtray. Think there's also one underneath the handbrake somewhere- you can see it when you lift the handbrake up (I think- been a while since I've removed it all!). The worst bit is getting the handle off the handbrake. There's a kind of little button hidden beneath the leather of the handle, on the underside at the base. You need to release this - best to hold it with a screwdriver and pull the handle off at the same time. You may have to pull it really hard- be careful not to punch through the heater controls when it finally comes loose! Sometimes they come straight off, sometimes they're an absolute mare...
  11. I'll take it please Dave! Are you going to the agm?
  12. You can delete it by re-routing the hoses. Easy peasy! No ill-effects whatsoever.
  13. J12? Dunno where the other one is- I'm guessing Bristol Road somewhere!
  14. I'll come off the M5 at J12 and go up the A38. Somewhere on the A40? Don't really know the area well enough to suggest a meeting point. Lew, I guess I could meet you near yours as I'll be going past anyway- how about McDonalds?
  15. Hats off to you Sean! What a turnaround. You really know your products- any tips for removing holograms? I've got a rotary, but not sure which product would be best for this.
  16. Thanks for the pm Jake :-) Lew. Oz and Ian, want to meet en-route to Jake's? Where?
  17. Sounds like the ISV damper. It has black foam inside- check all of the pipes to make sure the foam hasn't been sucked in. Also check that all the pipes are connected securely and not split etc.
  18. Dave, well done on getting that all done! It's a big job! I have a very similar cam problem. It's not the sensor/ecu/wiring/timing, so reckon it must be the trigger wheel. Quite frustrating really, as I asked a local specialist to change it for me. They took it all apart and checked the timing, but said the trigger wheel 'looked OK' so they left it, even though I asked them to change it as it's a cheap part. Is it fairly straightforward to take the rocker etc off? Never messed with the engine internals before, so I'm slightly nervous about tackling it myself. Really don't want to pay for all the labour again!
  19. Slight hiccup with the vRS- booked into the local garage to have the cambelt and exhaust swapped, but they were really busy, meaning it's gotta stay there over the Easter hols. They only got through half the cambelt change. Hope nobody wants to view it this weekend... because they can't! Should be ready by close of play on Tuesday... Also wanted to get the RC's on the Rado yesterday, but one of them wasn't holding air after the refurb. Took it to the local tyre place and they wouldn't touch it- can't blame them really! Took it back to the refurb guy and he's gonna seal it for me. Will hopefully have them on this afternoon :)
  20. It's a sad day, but we are down-sizing and going diesel, so the vRS has to go :( Registered in August 2005 (05 reg). Bought as a pre-reg, so 1 previous owner on logbook, although it has in reality only had one owner (me!) Black Magic Half-leather vRS interior 84K miles Full History (some Skoda, some local VAG specialist) Cambelt being replaced 28th March Tax August MOT August (passed the last one with no advisories) V5 present Excellent tyres all round 4 X recent coilpacks under official Skoda recall Factory options: Heated front seats Rear parking sensors Passenger airbag deactivation switch in glovebox Mods: 17" Octavia vRS Spider Alloys (instead of standard 16" Spiders found on the Combi) Performance Torque remap (approx 214bhp) Forge 007p Recirculation Valve Brembo front discs EBC Red Stuff pads all round R32 rear wishbone bushes Bad points: There are a couple of dings and scuffs and stone chips (front bumper). This car has been absolutely magnificent! It has been 100% reliable and never let us down. It's both fast and very practical- the perfect family car. It's not a show winner, but a good honest car that is mechanically sound. As the cambelt has just been done, no need to worry about that for another 40K. I will add pics tomorrow. Looking for £2850 ono
  21. Jake, not sure whether I'm going on my own or bringing Vaughan as well. He was saying the other day he may struggle to have his Storm ready :( Where are we meeting?
  22. Woah there! Fairplay then Sean- doubled in price since I bought some a year or two back. That's the way of parts at the mo :(
