  1. Exciting times! Sounds like the pump is on it's way out. It's situated in the boot, kinda near the petrol flap area. It's in a spongy case on the o/s under the side carpet IIRC. They turn up on Ebay quite regularly: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/corrado-central-locking-pump-/250921426274?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a6c151d62#ht_500wt_1202
  2. Blimey! I'd be expecting it to come back with a full respray after all this time

Hey, Jonno- sounds great! Will give you a shout pending what happens with the insurance ;)

    Rear screen woes

Ahhhh. Right, that makes sense. I was thinking literally  ---------- Post added at 08:32 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:10 PM ---------- Are rear screens still available then? Will have to look into this...
  5. Sorry Ian :( Would've been great to have you along! Tenirife will be nice though ;)

    Rear screen woes

Thanks guys- will borrow a multimeter. Steve, whaddayamean by 'glass cover'? Bit to cryptic for me- I'm getting old...
  7. Looks the same quantity as the one I bought last year. I've done two cars (Corrado + vRS estate) with it and still got around 2/3 left! Really good stuff. Next time I use it, I'm going to stand it in a bucket of hot water first, as it's activated by the heat produced by polishing. You can apply it with a machine, but I don't want to take to my new paint with the rotary just yet!
  8. Jon, I really don't understand why you would have to remove the adaptor?! No puller required! Steering wheel off, cowling off, switch out. Simple as. (Patiently!) tap the screw gently anticlockwise from the side with a small flat blade screwdriver/hammer if you can't get to it from the back. Is the column adjustable? If so, put it on the lowest position. Save the £43!
  9. VW will obviously be the best. Have heard of after market wishbones cracking/bending. Tierod69 on Ebay sells them as a set complete with R32 bushes. Think I'd go with those, as his parts are usually excellent quality. HTH!
  10. Hi mate- all you need to know should be here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?55463-FYI-Passat-Centre-Sunvisor&highlight=centre+visor
  11. Spent a couple of hours on it this weekend. Trying to sort out a couple of electrical gremlins: driver's heated seat doesn't work. Checked the relays and they're fine. Switch seems fine. Guess it's the element in the seat... grrrrrrrr! The rear screen element isn't working either. Switch lights up and seems fine. The element was broken in a few places, so I filled the gaps with electrical paint. Still no current draw on the volt gauge though, so still not working. Fitted a brand new speedo bezel to replace the cracked item on the car. Looks much better- nice to know that some parts are still available and not stupidly overpriced. It was around £22 after discount.
  12. Now the weather has been colder, have tried using the rear screen demister... and it doesn't work :( The switch lights up and seems fine. Have examined the elements on the glass, and several were damaged. I bought some conductive paint and filled in the gaps. Still no joy. I've got a volt gauge and when I switch the switch, there is no current draw whatsoever. Any ideas? Any other common failure points to examine? Have a spare tailgate in the garage (wrong colour), which will be a last resort fix.
  13. Welcome! Get the alternator & PAS belts changed, also worth changing the brake fluid.
  14. Thanks guys! Yeh, I've had to use it a few times this week, and hated every minute of it, especially in the horrible weather. It's got not wax or anything to protect it, so I'm a little paranoid! Pete, almost there buddy! Make sure you post some pics up asap!
  15. No worries, Jim. It's an expensive time of year! Thought it would be nice to do one at this time though, as there are hardly any meets around Christmas :) We'll do another at some stage next year :)
  16. Me three! Always loved the Mmmmm Coupe. Such a unique car. A friend of a friend has just bought one- will try to get a test drive ;)
  17. BAM if you can. Otherwise AUQ, which would get 225bhp with a map and decent breathing mods.
  18. I would leave it a couple of weeks.
