  1. good point Ian if its an old black lid change it to a more modern blue - stealer should stock i would have thought EJ FYI i have never felt either my old black cap or current blue cap 'click' into place - they just screw up tight the main difference seems to be that the old black caps were a bugger to unscrew when the car was cold, i always used to have to take it for a short run before unscrewing the cap. this doesn't seem to happen with the blue one
  2. it is a pity though as i really do love karting & the track & karts looks excellent ive been a hand full of times with friendly work do's etc & have won every time my old MD at Rock Direct even brought his GT3 in that day after one event for a spirited passenger ride as my prize :D
  3. welcome im sure you are aware but with the G60 & high miles, if it has not been serviced well the supercharger is likely to need a rebuild. i am unsure of places to do such but worth you checking out if/where/how much to do it or there as a Bahn Brenner Motorsport twin screw charger for sale on here a couple of weeks ago - they look awesome! ;) FYI i recently had to purchase a new steering rack for my '90 1.8 16v IIRC it was around the £130 mark with a £90 retainer which was returned once id sent them my old rack back please take care when sourcing one as there is a split part choice depending on the VIN number of the car - in detail one rack has a coarse spline on it & the other a fine spline, they will not interchange. thus whoever you order it from make sure they use the VIN & not the registration good luck
  4. sorry Nathan - i did look as would like to have joined but it is too far away
  5. put a post up in the wanted section m8 & PM the people who are currently breaking :)
  6. hi pete normally when cars with uprated looms are suffering issues it is due to a failed relay they don't cost much from a local motor factors & are handy to keep a spare in the glove box do you have a 2 relay or 3 relay loom? reason i ask is the 3 relay looms have 1 relay for each side of normal beam headlight & then 1 for the high beam, whereas the 2 relay looms only have 1 relay for both sides of normal beam i may be able to dig out a part number if you are struggling as i had a failed relay on my uprated loom in the spring change the relays, check any fuses if the loom has them & then reconnect it all & should be ok
  7. its a tough choice Jamie but a very nice 1 to have & sounds like you are going through the full sensible process, testing one via hire for a weekend would be a great idea. it should give you an inkling into what it may like to live with my bro-in law has a 996 C4S, personally not a favourite of mine as i favour the 993 shape or old skool 911. i think it is the broad similarities the 996 / 997 share with the other models that put me off, as with most modern cars they all really look too much alike ive driven a 1978 911, the bro-in laws 996 C4S & have been lucky enough to have been passenger in my old MD's 996 GT3 several times (including on a track day where he set his fastest time of the day with me in there & did some doughnuts to celebrate :D ). the GT3 is another league of motor completely, i don't think ive ever been in a car which could cover so much ground in so little time. truly awesome! add to that the feeling that you are actually glued to the road & i think it was almost as much fun to be a passenger as a driver lol the 996, well, lets just say i smiled & said all the right things as it was my bro-in laws but i wasn't overly impressed. the brakes were good lol i think it was the way it felt very computerised if that makes sense. james may would say it didn't give him 'the fizz' if you all get me. rather disconnected & even though his has the optional exhaust thingy to make it sound gruntier i think my VR sounds much better now ive got the 2.5 straight through exhaust the old skool 911 is my dads & though it hasn't been out on the road for a long time i still remember fondly the day he let me drive it down country lanes when i was about 18 or 19. being totally honest it still gives me tingles to recall being sat in the driving seat with the targa roof off at a cross roads, putting her into 1st (my dad giving me an approving nod as he normally pulled off in 2nd) & then hearing my mom yelp from the back seat as i gave it full beans off the line lol it was only a short drive & a long time ago but i can still remember the way it felt solid, spoke to you through the steering wheel feedback, through your backside on the seat (something i find in common with the corrado's we all love) & oh the sound!! i used to love waking up to the sounds of a flat 6 rumble when i was young! i think it it the last few points which either keeps us with our rado's or keeps people coming back to them, it is the overall driving experience & a feeling of being connected to the car thus for me the porker i would like to buy would either be way out of my league (a dream would be a 993 GT2 but they are like 120K lol) or old skool air cooled it is my big 4-0 next year & im hoping that maybe, just maybe the below may be coming my way finally after many years....

nice billcor i still recall seeing H15 HOR on an 1st gen civic type R a while ago & also P15 POR on a Ferrari - which ive been told was originally purchased for a Porsche ive always liked the thought of F45 TAS with a tiny sized print 'f**k' after it but would need to turbo the VR to justify lol
  12. love the wheels EJ, very nice!!

  16. I see. guess it saves on another motor what are they like to sit in when compared to a standard rado seat m8? I do always find myself occasionally looking for some but ive never sat in any plus I am still hunting for some autostrada Modena's & still kicking myself for not buying the set that appeared here some time ago :(

  19. I couldn't find it the other day either, well not in its normal section.
  20. oh dear lord! wayne did you actually look at it properly before handing over your cash!!?? surely a good inspection & test drive would have brought your list of issues to light :( at least rover parts will be cheap ;) lol EDIT: all meant in the nicest possible way of course, just disappointed for you fella
