  1. I saw this yesterday on the facebook corrado chat page...
  2. im lost for words reading the last few posts wayne however i am not understanding how a garage can rack up such a bill & give you a diagnosis when they haven't, or cant, even plus it in to the diagnostics you could drive into VW & pay them £50, ie a fraction of your current bill, & they would hook it up & give you a read out of errors etc plus, how can they have ran diagnostics if they haven't got VAGCOM it is making me wish you lived down by me as i would send you to my mechanic it is such a shame as you really need to enjoy this motor m8
  3. ha ha please don't encourage me chuggs lol you're right i have seen quite a few G60's advertised as well lately & yes to find an unmolested one would be a challenge fitting 3 on my drive is going to be tight so a 4th is a no no plus i have a big birthday next april & am kinda hoping i might finally get the keys i have been hoping to get for many many years
  4. Hassan - your not to far away from Stealth in banbury, give Vince a call there & he will order the correct one for you & also make sure he gets the extra silicone hose you need to connect it up to your air intake
  5. indeed the KW V1's are a little firm but the suspension is not at fault, it is our awful UK roads get them on smooth surfaces & round the twisty's they are superb. i haven't touched my ARB's & absolutely love taking the VR round the clover leaf where i live IIRC KW will provide the V1's with a slightly softer spring rate, which i think Kev Bacon said was excellent as it removed a little harshness without compromising the performance too much. im sure if you drop him a PM he wouldn't mind sharing the info that would be a slightly cheaper option than the V2's & once you have set the height as you desire you can just enjoy them & not worry about fiddling with bound & rebound rates etc
  6. im in it up to my knees m8! i do have 3 if you count the gf's storm lol my wallet goes into hiding when either of us sees a nice G60 in the classifieds ;)
  7. if the head unit is loosing all of its settings, time etc, when you remove the key then it sounds like you have got the permanent & switchable live the wrong way round - you should be able to swap them over fairly easy as someone else said the standard door speaker size is 5.25" FYI they mount from the inside of the door card, thus need to remove the door card to fit & there is only a limited depth i have the below & they fit ok, plus there is room in the door pod for the passive crossover http://www.crutchfield.com/S-0WYmIYSbFtd/p_108529I/Infinity-Kappa-52-9i.html
  8. ha ha was it a red one as well m8 ;) lol
  9. exactly, we all do it lol
  10. excellent news m8!! as mentioned the VR manual is one of the many i have which i actually read, rather than just store, & a gem of a piece of info it produced :) lol
  11. well spotted chugs be careful what you wish for m8, 2 is starting to be a challenge.....3 in the family is a little insane lol
  12. what a difficult but inspiring post im sorry im at the other end of the country else i would like to have helped good luck, im sure there will be people on here who will assist
  13. your head unit should have a permanent live & a switchable live connection - the former is to retain memory settings etc it should also have a remote wire output for you to connect the amp remote wire to does the wiring behind the stereo have the factory connectors or have they been cut?
  14. my pleasure Hasan good luck & give me a shout if you need :)
  15. price will be one of your main factors what budget have you in mind? also, when you say 'handling' what are you after? IE as close to OE as possible, a nice smooth ride & no desire to adjust height or the ability to set ride height & damper settings?
  16. ha ha ha im glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humour m8! :D
  17. can we change your thread title to the below pls wayne White VR6 in Windy Yorkshire! :) - Diet advice now included free of charge ;) PMSL
  18. sounds good in principle wayne BUT even a mint low miler is likely to need lots of £'s spent on it if it is low miles, even if very well maintained, things like rubbers on running gear, gaitors, rear beam bushes etc etc all deteriorate with lack of use unless you buy one that has been sat in an air conditioned, humidity controlled bubble & greased & lube'd every few months old cars will ALWAYS need something replacing / refreshing plus, as you have experience with this one things can look ok on the surface but when you delve in there may be bodge's galore as i say i understand your predicament & empathise with it m8
  19. hi m8 have a look for trimsport in the suppliers section on here, or google them they are developing a carbon rear number plate surround & already have several other carbon products
  20. MMMMM now that's the best post you have put on here for ages!! ;) lol well done on the weight loss, savour your treat m8 :D
  21. i guess we all learn from experience wayne. next time viewing a car take a mechanic with you or spend more time looking at it / underneath it than driving it ;) seriously though, if you really are in it for nearly 6K then surely it has to be kept rather than flushing that money down the drain. yes it may take more money to get it to the condition of a 6K rado BUT lots of the hard work has been done already. it would be very easy to sell this one, wait a while to get over the shock, buy a replacement & then find it needs most of what you did to this one done as well
  22. blimey riley! you aint had much luck with this motor have you wayne :( as chuggs said, by the time you're done most of it will be new I wouldn't be considering selling with all that you have put into it & done m8 - will you seriously be able to cover all (or most of) your costs with a sale? EDIT: you are not alone in that train of thinking though m8. having just got the valver back on the road it needed a hell of a lot more than I was expecting & I am really not looking forward to the bill for it. especially when I still haven't had the bill for the VR's fuel pump issue & the VR is back in for an oil leak fix despite it being looked at last time. thus ive been having similar thoughts to you but with all that time & money spent on it & the fact I regretted selling the valver so badly last time i don't know if i could do it
  23. ha ha ha don't kick yourself m8, its easy done & we are all culprits lol glad you got it all working & you know what to look at if any issues in the future
  24. cool, glad it made sense head unit will be ok for your door speakers & rears if you have them ive not had component speakers before, IE where you have a 2 way speaker & a separate tweeter, so unsure of their connections but would hope/imagine they still only take up 2 channels for the front & leave you 2 channels for the rear IIRC you would set the amp into 'mono' mode as the sub does not need a stereo feed & I think it would put itself into 'single channel' rather than 'dual channel' depending on what you connect to it. IE if you only connect the RCA leads & set to mono & do not connect any other outputs what amp is it? I can check for a diagram online do you have rear speakers or using the factory 6*4's? I have tried various setups over the years of rado ownership & other cars & though I know some people do not like cutting their parcel shelf audio output really does need 6*9's in the rear. personally I always re-trim my parcel shelf with proper acoustic carpet, not the cloth as its too thin & sags over time, & like the look it gives if you run decent door speakers with just a sub then you may get the bass you wish for but you are going to loose out majorly in mid range have you got an amp fitting kit I mentioned? I think they may include a basic connectivity diagram the passive crossovers simply connect between the head unit output & the speaker itself. those on my front kappa's are hard wired to the speaker & are slotted behind the door pod with some double sided tape
